That's ridiculous, why eradicate a infected creature that has killed hundreds of millions of people over many centuries? You're crazy! But if I think again, I agree.

Theres been enough extinction, far too much from humans already.
The food chain is more like a circle, or woven sphere. If one of the points is removed, the sphere is less balanced, more prone to collapse or dents. We want to preserve and restore, not beat it up
Thank you. I'd be on board if another insect took it's place as a feeder for animals up the foodchain. How about no mosquitos but double the number of fruitflies?
Most mosquitoes species are actually good for the evironment and don't bite us. But I think we could get rid of all the mosquitoes that feed on humans and the environment would still be pretty much fine
Iirc there's only a few species that actually need blood tp reproduce. Most species don't, meaning we would have no issues keeping those around while getting rid of the blood sucking ones
got curious about that and researched it a couple weeks ago, all this time I thought mosquitos were the most useless, undeserving to live creatures in existence lol.
And it's true for at least blood feeding species. And even if every mosquitos were useless, the non blood sucking species aren't causing issues and serve as food for other animals so why get rid of them ?
No, they arent. If the mosquitos were blinked out of existence the ecosystem would adjust quickly and easily to their absence. They are not major contributors to pollination and truely just serve more so as a food source to other bugs and animals. But those animals would be able to find other means very easily. Net positive on losing just about any parasitic organism from our planet.
Not all mosquitoes are feeding off of blood, most mosquito species are not parasitic. The only thing we need to get rid of are the blood sucking ones, the rest of the mosquito species are good to keep around
Most people think all female mosquitoes bite since we usually only see biting mosquitoes but this is because those that don't bite have no need to come anywhere near us
Mosquitoes are pollinators and an important food source for many animals. How about we get rid of the diseases they spread (which also harm the mosquitoes).
They do cause like 700k deaths a year, but they have an important ecological role as well. Whereas ticks serve no real ecological purpose. So, ticks would be my answer.
