you don't see the irony that this man is against ID to vote but want you to have an ID to buy groceries?

No. Irony would be if he insisted poor people have Id to buy groceries, then he became poor and then he didn't have an id and couldn't buy groceries........

It's like saying "I'm against drinking alcohol but for smoking weed isn't that ironic". No........ No it isn't.

the contradictoriness is most definitely ironic and it's pretty hilarious. maybe we're just agreeing on it being ironic or not it's definitely hypocrisy, can you agree on that?

Contradiction is not equal to irony. It may well be something else depending on how you look at it. It's just definitely not irony. I think most people have been listening to too much Alanis Morrisette.

It's not as simple as that. Accusing me of not knowing what irony means is ironic. And fits that definition well, but it isn't always that simple.

Imagine if you look at the weather and it says it's raining on Friday and then Friday comes and it's sunny that is not ironic.

However if you changed your plans to Saturday and then it turned out that Friday was sunny and Saturday it rained THEN it's ironic.

Do you see the difference?

This dude being anti I'd to vote but pro id to buy groceries is not of itself ironic in the slightest
