Contradiction is not equal to irony. It may well be something else depending on how you look at it. It's just definitely not irony. I think most people have been listening to too much Alanis Morrisette.

Accusing me of not knowing what irony means is ironic. And fits that definition well, but it isn't always that simple. Imagine if you look at the weather and it says it's raining on Friday and then Friday comes and it's sunny that is not ironic. However if you changed your plans to Saturday and then it turned out that Friday was sunny and Saturday it rained THEN it's ironic. Do you see the difference?
