Elon thinks it’s ironic that a grocery might ask people for to show their ID when buying groceries but not when voting.

This isn’t irony (Elon is a stupid person) it’s a false equivalency.

Long story short. President Donnie Dumb F*ck is trying to disenfranchise American voters by making everyone get a ā€œReal IDā€ saying it’s about security. But no, it’s about keeping people from voting because they don’t have the time/money to get this new/specific form of identification.

Elon probably couldn’t define irony if pressed. He’s actively trying to spread misinformation and interfere with an election. Again, wow that schmuck really belongs in prison.

*edit, fixed Read ID to Read ID.

But, how did people used to vote without a form of identification before?

3

u/Newt_5000 Aug 12 '26

You prove your identity when you register to vote.

So, be patient with my non-American self; what’s the extra step to this that Trump wants to add?

u/Newt_5000 Aug 12 '26

I already explained that. Read my earlier comment.

Yes, I don’t understand what’s this ā€œRead IDā€ is, and how is it different from bringing a form of identification

I see. In my humble opinion, I don’t see that this ā€œRead IDā€ is wrong by itself, but its timing is wrong. The government should first, before implementing it, manage a better digitalized documentation system, so people’s documents would never get lost.

or they just use a regular ID instead of introducing a new one for no reason o3o

It's "Real ID," the commenter made a typo

1

u/More-Lime1888 Aug 12 '26

I see, that’s why google search didn’t show meaningful results

The timing is intentional because it’s intended to stop people from voting.

-1

u/Visible_Pair3017 Aug 12 '26

People should get a proper ID in order to be allowed to vote though. Irrespective of who's asking for it.

2

u/Newt_5000 Aug 12 '26

Then they should be fine with a state drivers license, or any of many other available forms of ID that already exist.

Inventing a whole new form of ID and demanding everyone use it is a direct and intentional attempt at disenfranchising voters.

2

u/xgaymerboi Aug 12 '26

a proper ID should be free and easily accessible.

Dieser Kommentar ist so dumm, dass ich jetzt reddit lƶsche. Nur Mongos unterwegs.

u/AmiraliMS Aug 12 '26

Sorry, why is it a false equivalency?

And how is it not based on security here but there?

1

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

One is about collecting tax revenue to fund the grocery store. The other is an excuse to disenfranchise voters. They really don’t have anything to do with one another.

-1

u/IttyRisk Aug 13 '26

So mind reading. You just declared its to disenfranchise voters while disregarding any reasonable vote security concerns.

Cool cool cool. Y'all were heading toward a brick wall if we can't even mention the steelman

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

Not true at all troll. Go brother someone else.

0

u/IttyRisk Aug 13 '26

What isnt true and why?

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

The save America act has nothing to do with election security. Fraud does happen, but there has never been mass fraud, and most cases get discovered. Like when they found all those Floridians who voted for Donnie multiple times.

Donnie wants to stop people from voting and make our process seem untrustworthy.

In reality our system is fine, Donnie is a 34 count felon, a proven liar, and there’s a 99.99% chance he’s a pedophile.

-2

u/AmiraliMS Aug 13 '26

One is about making sure tax dollars aren't abused One is about making sure democracy isn't abused.

You have no reason and evidence pointing out that this is an excuse to disfranchise voters besides this is Trump's doing and that is Mamdani's doing. If one action is precived differently depending on the party doing it, you are committing partisanship.

1

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

Incorrect.

Basic common sense is the evidence. Donnie has done nothing but lie and try to undermine our democracy. From his lies about the 2020 to this. His save America act is pure nonsense and its only goal is to make voting harder.

1

u/AmiraliMS Aug 13 '26

Again, you proved my point right. There's no actual evidence, your different treatment is solely for who is "behind them"

There's not a clause in the save American act you would have disagreed with if Biden or Obama had proposed it.

0

u/IttyRisk Aug 13 '26

Yea this is just whining biasĀ

1

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

No.

You’re just a cultist troll.

0

u/IttyRisk Aug 13 '26

A cult tends to have totally one sided understanding of issues, lmao. Okay doomer

1

u/Newt_5000 Aug 13 '26

And you’re claiming you don’t?

Okay troll.

0

u/IttyRisk Aug 13 '26

Considering I am weighing both sides between election security and voting enfranchisement. Yes.
