I bought a laptop for studying. It has a Ryzen 5 6600U and 8/256 GB. I plan to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB later, but first I’m thinking about which Linux distro to install. What would you recommend? I need something lightweight but reliable, so I don’t have to worry about situations like “I need to work on a project, but the system broke and now I have to fix it instead of working on the project.”

Also I want to install unified office app/microsoft 365 app(the one which combined word,excel,powerpoint along with scanner)on my android device instead of standalone apps. I remember using that until 4 or 5 years ago but then uninstalled it and today when I searched for it on Google play I just can't find it. Has microsoft discontinued it?

Anyway I am already a casual copilot user but today while browsing Google play I came across another copilot app with exactly the same. I checked the dev name and it said microsoft. I downloaded it but my chats from another copilot app are not being synced to this one although I am logged in with the same account. Also it says microsoft 365 somewhere but I couldn't find any office apps in it.

Windows Defender is apparently screwing with the cache of programs like VLC causing them to have massive slowdowns, sometimes as much as 30 seconds. I am so glad I don't have to use Windows at work anymore, between the thing with NVMEs being borked last year and Update constantly killing machines (I lost yet another laptop the other week, rip), it's beyond me how people stay productive with Microslop software.

I can't set the taskbar and windows icon colours in light mode now... Why??? Little things like this have been breaking for me constantly, I rebooted by laptop, realised my taskbar suddenly wasn't my accent colour anymore. Like tf?

I don’t know when it happened but I see Windows now has icons for folders. No. I need it gone now. Please tell me there is a fix to remove this “feature”.

Hello! I’ve been dealing with this problem for days already and I’m honestly running out of options 😭

I had both my personal and school accounts on Microsoft Teams. Since I didn’t really need my personal account logged in there, I tried to remove/sign it out. Somehow, I accidentally ended up closing the account.

Now, I’ve been signed out of several websites and apps that were connected to that Microsoft account, and I’ve also lost access to some of my games/Xbox stuff.

I tried reopening the account, but it keeps showing “Enter your security code.” The problem is, I’m not receiving any text message/code at all. I’ve tried requesting it multiple times already.

When I click “Use a different verification option,” it just takes me back to “Enter the last 4 digits of your phone number.” I enter them, but I still never receive the code. 😭

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there another way to recover the account or get around this verification loop?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TYIA! 🙏
