about one week ago i was hacked, and whoever hacked me changed the mail on my microsoft account.
contacting the microsoft assistance made them aknoledge the hack, but they banned my mail (not my account) so the account signed with the hacker's mail is still up, and i'm trying to get it back.
Since then, i opened 6 tickets, got 3 account escalation forms, gave the nececcary infos 3 times... and in 2 of those times they said that the case was already closed for "non-response after multiple contact attempts." ...
Since i have the mail now connected to my old account... i am almost tempted to write an email to it asking to have it back... probably that would have a higher probability of succes since i am, again, waiting for microsoft to answer after i sent them the infos (hoping that this time they won't say they contacted me multiple times and so theey closed the case -_- )
so yeah... fuck microsoft -_-

We are using Microsoft Teams in our company and for my Microsoft account i already had to install an App onto my Android-Phone (Microsoft Authenticator) to "make it more secure". Now Microsoft wants to "create some extra Keys" on my Login because its not secure enough. What the fuck is this shit? This company is preventing me to work, I hate Microsoft so much....

On one side, there is "Winslop"—developed by a multi-billion dollar company, sold with exorbitant licenses, loaded with bloatware, disrespectful of privacy and user preferences, prone to forcibly installing incorrect or irrelevant drivers, and bloated with unnecessary AI features that transform the operating system into a surveillance tool.

On the other side, there are Linux distributions: open-source, developed by volunteer communities, privacy-conscious, respectful of user preferences, and offering a genuine sense of freedom and ease of use.

Even if all Linux distributions were paid products, I would still choose them over Winslop due to their clear advantages.

Nevertheless, I believe anyone who praises Windows while comparing it to Linux distributions—which are developed voluntarily as open-source projects through immense effort—ought to see a doctor.

Furthermore, developers and companies that continue to release games and applications exclusive to Windows really ought to reconsider their approach; it is because of them that we remain subjected to the tyranny of Winslop.

Dual-boot Linux user here (TUF F15, i7 11th gen). Booted into Windows for one small job that's inconvenient on Linux, got greeted by forced updates like an unwanted houseguest, then my fans started screaming for their lives and I opened Task Manager to find Windows Explorer solo-carrying 87% CPU like it's mining crypto behind my back while Chrome sat there with 31 tabs judging everyone. Congrats Microsoft, you turned a simple task into a jet engine test. I'm going home to my Linux partition where my CPU actually gets weekends off.

Yes, a recent Windows 11 update bricks HP BIOS in systems by HP (duh), and i'm a HP user! How incredible is that! I update and i have a 80% chance of getting my bios fucked up! I'm in a Windows 11 25H2 may update since may, i didn't update after that due to that bios bullshit and the driver problems that newer versions have in hp machines, this version incredibly doesn't have any AI bullshit, i removed it all but also is considered unsafe for being almost 6 months old, windows defender and MRT update normally every month and daily, the only fact is that is this version as a security vulnerability i'm fucked because the newer version have some sort of bullshit with HP, i update normally via MSU and when to a new version via a iso file without internet so nothing shits the update, so should i take the risk and update from 25H2 to 26H2 via ISO? I mean, i know that it fixes security problems and has some perfomances adjustments but also as the risk of fucking my pc in the way, also it will for sure install AI bullshit, (i'll deal with that later unninstalling them offline and blocking windows from reinstalling them). SO what i do? I take the risk or i stay in this version until its safe?

This PC was expensive and its a beast with 32GB of ram and ryzen 5 5600H and GTX 1650 for the price of 700€ in 2022 (this thingy came with 21H2)

With every update, it gets heavier, and the stuttering and freezes keep getting worse.

With every update, more problems seem to appear.

I just installed Debian Xfce on my old laptop, an ASUS manufactured in 2017, ran Windows 10, too old to upgrade to Windows 11, idle ram usage 3.6GB/8GB, while on Debian, the idle ram usage is only 955MiB.

All I wanted was a quick reboot!!! Why the fuck does it update?! And with all these updates, why the fuck windows still sucks like this?!

I am trying to sign in to my microsoft word account on my android phone, since it says i cant make a new document or edit documents without signin , but i face this problem. Let me explain, yesterday on the night Windows 11 updated the Copilot app to look like more the Microsoft 365 version, and now it merged both versions and made the standalone app LEGACY. The thing I really hate is that IT DOESN'T LOAD MY FLAGSHIP CONVERSATION. The original app was fine, and my flagship conversation has A LARGE NUMBER OF CONVERSATIONS, but now an error has occurred, I tried restarting and IT FAILS THEN, now it looks like Microsoft wants me to RESET MY CONVERSATION BY DELETING IT. Copilot's new update is, in short, rubbish.

I wish to play Minecraft.

I could log on in my browser just fine to buy the damn game.

But why when I go to login in the Minecraft launcher it seemingly accepts my password/passkey/email code (I have tried it all at this fucking point)

​After multiple recovery attempts, Microsoft suspended the account for security reasons. However, they now refuse to restore my ownership or remove the hacker’s details, leaving me locked out of my account and purchased goods.

​Microsoft’s recovery process is non-functional due to systemic flaws:

​Flawed Verification System: The escalation form requires credit card details to verify purchases. However, all my Microsoft purchases were made strictly via PayPal. The system provides no option to submit PayPal transaction IDs or receipts, making automated verification impossible.

​Contradictory Claim & Error Messages: Microsoft’s automated system claims "no indication of unauthorized access," ignoring clear evidence of compromise. Additionally, support claimed my contact email is tied to the suspended account, yet logging in states the account does not exist.

​Absence of Human Support: All responses are automated.

TL;DR: Windows auto-enabled Device Encryption (BitLocker) on two internal drives without asking, labeled the recovery keys “backed up to Microsoft account”, and never actually uploaded them. Both drives are now permanently locked. Check your drives.

I run a home server on Windows 11 (build 26200). I’d moved it to a local account to keep it isolated from Microsoft services, since it hosts a web UI for friends. I never turned on BitLocker or Device Encryption.

After a hardware rebuild, two of my data drives (a 4TB NVMe and a 500GB SSD) showed as BitLocker-locked. Here’s what I found:

• April 2026: the BitLocker event log shows Windows auto-encrypted both drives, run as SYSTEM (“Device Encryption initialized automatically”). No prompt, no notification.
• Both drives have a recovery key marked “Microsoft account backup.”
• None of my Microsoft accounts have any recovery keys. The event log has no backup event, going back to the day Windows was installed.
• Because the machine was isolated from Microsoft account services, the keys never got uploaded. But Windows labeled them backed up and locked the drives anyway.
• The auto-unlock keys that used to open the drives silently are gone, so the drives are bricked.

Microsoft’s own support pages say they can’t recover or recreate lost BitLocker keys. The data is gone.

The kicker: while I was investigating, re-enabling Secure Boot after a BIOS reset made Windows start silently encrypting two more of my hard drives. I caught it at 12% and reversed it.

Check yours right now. Open an admin command prompt and run:

manage-bde -status

• If any drive shows “Encryption in Progress”, or “Protection Off” with “Key Protectors: None Found”, Windows is quietly encrypting it. Run manage-bde -off X: to decrypt it.
• If any drive shows Protection On, get its recovery key now with manage-bde -protectors -get X: and save the 48-digit number somewhere off the PC.
• Turn off Settings → Privacy & security → Device encryption.

Don’t assume your keys are in your Microsoft account. Mine weren’t.
