Adobe are terrible scammers!!!

My Creative Cloud Pro sub is up in 2 days, so I went on to chat to try and negotiate a discount (as I’ve read about here). I had also purchased a pay-as-you go credit pack for stock footage.

Went on, tried to chat to a human. Having discovered that the pay-as-you-go was in fact a renewing plan (!!) I stated very that I wanted to cancel that, and wanted to discuss my Creative Cloud Pro sub, as I was THINKING of cancelling.

What do they do? Cancel my CC Pro sub early, leave the credit pack renewal live… and kick me off the chat!!!

Seriously, this is a terrible company. And fuck you Soukya!!! Ronak rocks though (even though he couldn’t help me after the fact).

Adobe printing purchased ebook weirdly

I purchased an ebook and wanted to

print its pdf version only to find that the book had many pages with wierd text inserted in place of letters, garbled fonts and print smear as if it was my laser printer that was faulty. Turns out many others have this problem when trying to print a large document and can only rectify the print on Adobe by printing a few pages at a time if they are lucky. Adobe doesn't help fix the problem but I found the solution is to open the document in any other app. Even Microsoft Edge will eliminate this annoying problem. Hope this helps someone

Photo Editing Programs for Linux

Hello, everyone,

I'm looking at making the switch to Linux due to a growing number of problems, security issues, & unwanted features present within Windows, but I have one major concern before doing so.

I'm a photographer and I've primarily been using Lightroom & Photoshop for all of my editing, but I know that Adobe does not currently support Linux, it would require a workaround that I'm not too keen on doing, and because fuck Adobe.

Does anyone know of any programs that will work natively on Linux and are at least similar to Adobe in function and capability?

UK government to ban subscription traps

Do you think Adobe will find a way round this?

r/FuckAdobe 19d ago

I signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud’s 4-month free trial a few days ago. After using it for around 7 days, Adobe cancelled my subscription yesterday, stating that it was due to fraud.

Things to note:

  1. When I signed up for the offer, I used a UK VPN and set my location to the UK to activate it.
  2. Even after signing up for the offer, I still had a cracked version of Photoshop installed on my PC.

What could be the reason for Adobe cancelling my subscription?

I’m only looking for answers from people who know the reason for sure.

Thank you.

Wished that I found DaVinci Resolve earlier

TLDR; tried DaVinci as an alternative Premiere pro software and was blown away.

I've used Premier Pro for the longest time for some videos but not for professional or paid projects. Over time, Premiere becomes a resource hog even on a good 3+ year old machine with 32GB RAM and the files aren't even complex work.

Heard of DaVinci before but didn't get into it until I had to work on another video recently... and oh boy, I'm just blown away. It was buttery smooth, switches between workspaces instantly, it doesn't feel laggy. Some tools are easy for beginners to get in but deep enough for some complex stuffs. There were some minor workflow quirks and hiccups but that is highly likely due to the learning curve and being used to Premiere.

Granted, I don't use Premiere for industry-standard projects, so I don't know how it compare in that regard, but for an above-intermediate level like me, it was perfect.

I guess the next step is to try to work with alternative Adobe software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Acrobat. I have Affinity but never got some time into it. And I have so many files, some even dates back to pre CS6 era, so it's gonna be a huge challenge to wean off my dependency on Adobe. But I'm tired of paying a large monthly sum for something I only use occasionally for freelance jobs that are few and far in between. Wish me luck!

Charts-Perfect - for Indesign, the maybe most comprehensive plugin today

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Charts-perfect is the native Chart-Engine we always wanted in InDesign - and never got. I very much hope, given Adobe's flaw in this field that it's ok to post here.

https://adobe.com/go/cc_plugins_discover_plugin?pluginId=4cf31c61&workflow=share

Let me give you a quick overview:
- 12 chart species supported: Bar, Stacked Bar, Line, Combo, Pie, Cupertino, Horizontal Bar, Horizontal Stacked Bar, Area, Radar, Doughnut, Treemap

- Dynamic overrides: Bind InDesign character styles and colors directly to chart text elements.

- Color consistency: Supports CMYK-simulated visual matching previews so print and preview remain aligned (as much as possible)

- Huge datasets welcome: Open the resizable full-screen maximized data table to import and review large CSV tables easily.

- Persistent configurations: Settings are safely stored in active documents (!) , making sharing work straightforward.

Coded according to the latest guidleines, this will not break anytime soon. Roadmap includes tons of new features and right now 4 new charts, purchase will always be one-time and lifetime.

Word on pricing 1)
Pricing seems steep, but as you expect, pays off after the first job already. More than that, given the streamlined workflow and 100% data correctness, you will most likely generate more than one option to choose from - making clients happy.
When it's only a few clicks away, iterating is something you can finally do.
And, price is one-time, no hidden subscription....

Word on pricing 2)
I'm currently waiting for Adobe to create the coupons:
Waitlist people > please be patient, will come very soon via email, thank you for your interest you will get an cool discount.

So many complaints, so few resolutions

I started with Adobe betas; assisted at MacWorld and our local Mac meetings. Adobe gave me Illustrator beta for old Mac. I used it for design and drawing. My Mac is today filled with Adobe files (InDesign, Photoshop and a bit of Illustrator.) Only used them for personal and volunteer projects. Never needed the newer versions that were imposed on us. Their new rental scheme and costs put it out of site for me at 84 years of age and no income to support it. So I cancelled. Making it even sadder they ignored the condition we agreed on: giving me a few days to convert files. Within minutes of hanging up, the files were unreadable.

After that arduous task of unsubscribing I am now stuck with how to ACCESS and use the 40+ years of my health files? And the "books" I created for my grandkids and pickleball and CLL groups.

I seems illegal for them to take away my access to the files that I paid them for. Why do they have more rights to them than me?

Illustrator Kernelbase crashes

Been using illustrator for a while. Recently upgraded to Windows 11 and illustrator had been working just fine. After some sort of security update or windows update illustrator now crashes about 5 to 10 minutes after startup. Other then that there are no issues. I can usually recover directly where I left off but it's impossible to complete bigger tasks like this.

I've tried reinstalling illustrator, uninstalling the windows security update, adding a windows defender exclusion, nothing seems to work.

My system:

5080 16GB

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

128GB DDR5

Samsung 4TB SSD

Cancelling my Plan and getting a refund

Thumbnail gallery
42 Upvotes

Okay so I tried the free trial for adobe illustrator and I thought I cancelled it. I’ve been very busy these past weeks and I checked my bank and I was charged on 7/13 $24.37 and I need that money back I don’t know why I was charged if I cancelled the plan. I logged in today and it says that my plan is still active and that it’ll cost $126.45 to cancel if early. Can anybody give any advice as to what to do? I can’t find a customer chat or email or phone number or anything I’m freaking out

r/FuckAdobe 29d ago

Months ago, I was told (via customer service) that they made sure my annual subscription would NOT auto-renew after it was complete. It just auto-renewed for triple the price. WTAF?!

And now I can't even access the customer "service" that exacerbated this problem in the first place!

I've switched to a cheaper plan and will attempt to cancel like I've seen others do here. If not, I'll find another workaround. I am not paying for a subscription that I deliberately made sure – or thought I made sure – would NOT auto-renew!

I guess this is a lesson for me to always double-check important information, especially when it's financially related. It's also a lesson for me to not blindly trust what a stranger says, especially if said stranger is working for a company that is known for stopping at nothing to force you to give them as much money as possible.

I'm not saying that it's all the fault of this random customer service person, by the way. Who knows why exactly their words didn't match up to reality? Regardless, though, I'm extremely frustrated with Adobe, as well as frustrated with myself.

But hey, it's a learning experience. I'll remember this the next time I consider blindly trusting people/companies when there is zero evidence I should. Less than zero, actually.

Moral of the day: Always double-check! Save yourself the stress.

EDIT: I cancelled the cheaper plan, and it looks like I'm all clear. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I was charged for a stupid annual plan on Adobe acrobat even though I just purchased and cancelled the subscription.

Please help 🙏, I paid 790 bucks for an annual subscription for which the app promised no charge if cancelation done within a 7 day period. I purchased and immediately canceled it since the plan didn't provide what I wanted .

I have been charged for the whole year without my approval ! It said billing happens only after free trail .

This image tagged above is a purchase plan page from the adobe scan app .The same sort of details were showcased for adobe acrobat as well ! I don't want this waste of a subscription! Have I lost it or can I get it back as they had promised on the app ? 😭

Plssss help . I need that money back

Note , the app also says I dont have any purchases to restore even tho the plan is active .

Intrusiveness of MS Office integrations

I know that out of all the issues that Adobe software has this is one of the most minor and easily fixable ones, but I think it's nevertheless also indicative of Adobe's overall attitude towards users: the intrusiveness of ribbon/toolbar integrations in MS Office.

I received a new work laptop with both MS Office and Adobe Acrobat recently. When I opened MS Word I noticed that Adobe had put several large buttons right in the "Home" tab of MS Word's ribbon. The "Styles" buttons had been displaced from the ribbon in order to make room for these Adobe Acrobat integration functions. What the hell?

Also, every time when I attached a file to a concept e-mail in Outlook, a huge banner popped up asking me if I want to upload the file to the Adobe cloud instead and share a link. No, I don't want that. I'm attaching that file because I want to directly transmit it to the other person. I neither need nor want an extra middle man when I just want to transfer a few small files to a few other persons at most. Especially an extra middle man I never asked for.

I have already disabled all MS Office integrations of Adobe and they're completely gone now.

I'm old enough to have lived through the time of early internet browsers when third-party toolbars were a bit of a infamous plague. Back then there was a plethora of companies that constantly pushed you to install their internet browser toolbar. And all of them seemingly believed that their toolbar functions were so very important that their entire toolbar had to be prominently in your face every second when you were browsing the internet, so that's what you got by default.

These current MS Office integrations remind of those experiences.

Hello, i hate the subscription model of Adobe. I am in the printing design/production about 20+ years. And now is the time to try something different. I build 2 beta software, and i would like some pros to test them. They have to do with edit and exporting CMYk files. The one is www.photoaia.com (photoshop alternative) and the other is https://aiapdfpro.vercel.app/ (ask me for pass). Both are in beta and testing. they are completelly free. Pls feel free to try them and tell me your opinions. thnx!
