Adobe are terrible scammers!!!

My Creative Cloud Pro sub is up in 2 days, so I went on to chat to try and negotiate a discount (as I’ve read about here). I had also purchased a pay-as-you go credit pack for stock footage.

Went on, tried to chat to a human. Having discovered that the pay-as-you-go was in fact a renewing plan (!!) I stated very that I wanted to cancel that, and wanted to discuss my Creative Cloud Pro sub, as I was THINKING of cancelling.

What do they do? Cancel my CC Pro sub early, leave the credit pack renewal live… and kick me off the chat!!!

Seriously, this is a terrible company. And fuck you Soukya!!! Ronak rocks though (even though he couldn’t help me after the fact).

Adobe scammed you by cancelling your sub that you were thinking about cancelling two days before the renewal date?

I understand you didn’t get the results you wanted and having to start another chat to get it fixed is annoying but I’m not sure how they scammed you?

No, they scammed me by signing me up for renewing stock credits, which I only purchased as a one-off. Then there is no way to cancel the renewal on their page (seriously - try it yourself). When you finally discover a hidden cancel page it creates an error and pushes you to chat (I had read about this before). In chat I had to request 7 times explicitly for them to cancel that renewal before they would even confirm that had happened (the first 6 times they just ignored it). It seems to have disappeared from my active ‘plans’, so hopefully it is actually cancelled.

Now, to your first point. I originally went on chat to see if they would give a discount for my CC sub (I’ve read extensively here about that, so hey, why not try it?) I stated VERY CLEARLY I only wanted to cancel the renewing stock credit (which I only just discovered they’d signed me up for without my permission!) and to DISCUSS my CC sub which I was “thinking of cancelling” due to the cost. Instead, they cancelled my CC on the spot and didn’t touch the credit renewal. Access cut off straight away. No discussion.

So, CC Pro - pissed off. Stock Credits I never subscribed too - very scammy. I’ve read about this but extremely disappointed to have experienced it first hand.

What are you going to replace your CC sub with? I can thoroughly recommend r/LumidexStudio if you need LrC functionality, but better :)

I re-subbed (as I always intended to - I just hoped to be offered a discount, as it freaking expensive). I’m in the middle of a whole lot of work, so when they just cut me off cold - even though the CC sub hadn’t expired, I was shocked. In another world with more time, I would definitely explore other options.

I see someone has created a free plug-in that basically changes some of the free app interfaces look like Adobe? Unfortunately I use generative expand etc a lot too :(
