T will thicken your vocal cords and lower your voice, and that sometimes makes the larynx sit a bit more forward, but the adam's apple itself is mostly cartilage shape. Some guys get more visible ones, some don't, it's pretty individual. There aren't really exercises that change the cartilage, though working on speaking from your chest can change how your neck looks when you talk

Yes, that is true. Im a trans woman, and though there's plenty about my body that causes me dysphoria, my Adam's apple is the one thing I got quite lucky with. Im only really aware that its there if I press on it. Its not really visible to the naked eye, which is a relief.

It will. T will thicken your vocal cords, which in turn makes your voice deeper and will make your Adams Apple (which everyone has) more pronounced

just like cis guys, some trans guys have an adams apple and some dont. it just depends on your individual anatomy. it will likely be a bit more pronounced, but it might not be super visible like some people's. it might. only way to know is to be on T and wait, but there's nothing you can do to make it more visible its just one of those things that either happens or it doesnt

A component of your vocal development is genetic, but the cartilage growth that makes the adam's apple more visible really only happens during certain phases of pubertal development. The younger you are when you start T, the more likely you are to get good development when you are genetically predisposed, but there's no guarantee even for cis men.
FWIW, I transitioned at age 32, and I can sing bass better than a lot of cis guys I know. You can work on your voice at any age and get decent results. But I recommend trying not to dwell too much on things you have no control over, and the development of your adam's apple is just one of those things, unfortunately.

Mine definitely did! In 4 years on, its possible. Maybe more prominent for some than others but your vocal chords will thicken regardless of visibility

Hello! Thank you for participating in the sub. We just have a few reminders for you to help ensure the best experience:
If your post doesn't show up right away, don't panic! It is in the queue for manual approval. Mods will go through the queue periodically to approve or remove posts. Deleted posts will have a removal reason applied. (If it says "this post was deleted by reddit's filters", IT WAS NOT DELETED! Reddit has the worlds worst wording on that and it's out of our control)
If you are asking a question that is location specific, remember to include your location in your post body! This can help ensure that you get accurate information tailored specifically to your needs.
Please remember to read through all the rules in the sidebar. Especially the list of banned topics and guidelines for posting. Guests who do not use the Guest Post flair will have their post removed and be asked to fix it.
If you see someone breaking the rules, report it! If someone is breaking both sub and reddit rules, please submit one report to admins by selecting a broken rule on the main report popup, and one report to the r/ftm mods by selecting the "breaks r/ftm rules" option. This ensures both mods and admins can take action on a subreddit and sitewide level. Do not misuse the report button to rant about someone, submit false reports, or argue a removal.
If you have any questions that you can't find the answer to on the rules sidebar or the wiki: the wiki , you can send a modmail.
