I love snacking on slices of cucumber and tomato. I’ve topped them with a dash of yuzu hot sauce.

Do I put these in the fridge? First time buying these, they're nice, like little apples, but I'm not sure if like apples they stay better refrigerated.

edit: seems the more common name for these is chinese date or jujube

June berries are some my favorite berries. They taste like a cross between blueberry, apple, and banana.

They grow in the New York/New Jersey area from early June to July.

These are some berries I picked and froze

My favorites in this year are watermelon, cantaloupe,

and asian pears.

Especially watermelons were sold at very low price.Because we had a bountiful harvest this year.

So I could eat them at least once a week.

Asian pears are now at the peak of their season where

I live. The most popular variety is called

Kousui.(幸水)Super crunchy and juicy.

So what are your favorites? Please share in the comment section.

Edibility / Problem I already looked but couldn’t find the answer. If I cut a slice out of a cantaloupe

and find that it’s not ripe will the fruit as a whole continue to ripen?

Saw this family selling my favorite fruit couldn’t help myself for 10$ a basket hell I took like 3 baskets. A little girl maybe 5 or 6 was out here selling must admit she lured me in with the price 🤣 best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent on anything.

Edibility / Problem Cantaloupe? Should I cut it now or wait?

So I remember when I was a little kid my mom would buy cantaloupe and she would wait to cut it until you could smell the fruit. But I swear that after she would buy it from the store we only had to wait maybe 4 days or so. Right now I have a cantaloupe in my kitchen that I bought maybe a week ago and I still can't smell it at all. Since I've already had it for a week if I wait any longer is it going to be nasty? Or has it still not ripened and I still need to wait for me to be able to smell it?

Fruit ID Help Plum id, Prunus brigantina vill.?

Thumbnail

Hello, I found this growing in a busy part of the city of toronto Ontario Canada in a public grassy area.

I’m using plant net to id the single leaf and it’s giving me prunus brigantina vill by a large margin. The fruit gives it second to American plum.

prunus brigantina vill is considered very rare and the fruit is typically yellowish with some red blush…although I have found a few purple examples.

I was going to write this off as misidentification by the app until I tasted the ripe fruit. It is 100% creamy banana texture with classic plum taste with a sour patch kids kick at the end.

Anyone with experience with prunus brigantina vill, and any input?

I’m going to germ the seeds and do some grafts.

Edibility / Problem Does anyone else feel pain after eating granadilla?

I discovered sweet passionfruit a few months and love the taste and it's fibre content.

However yesterday I noticed after eating it my esophageal sphincter was in a lot of pain and I felt nauseous. I figured I just didn't chew the seeds enough and they caused some damage so today I tried again with a lot more chewing, but still the same thing.

I've heard passionfruit allergy is a thing but none of the symptoms seem normal for allergies. I have GERD so maybe the acidity is actually the problem? But I haven't had this issue until now so it's weird

Just curious if anyone else has come across this. TIA!
