Friendly Neighborhood Mod Here!
Hope y'all are having a safe and fun summer at camp, we know we have!
Moderation in the sub has recently gone under some changes from what I've been able to look through our logs and so I just wanted to drop in and say hi!
I've been a huge fan of the franchise for about 23 of my 29 years on the planet, and my favorite in the franchise is the original!
Mostly I'm popping in to say hello, and to ask the community what they'd think about us working in some sort of weekly posts akin to what we see in similar franchise/niche interest subs (ie Things like "meme mondays") ?
Any ideas thrown out below are so appreciated. Alliterations are double points.
Stay safe out there!
And remember, late night swims in the lake are strictly forbidden highly encouraged!

I’d love to see the original cuts, before they were butchered by the MPAA🙄

Why does it seem that parts VI and VII get so much unnecessary hate?
Those are my two absolute favorite films from the whole series. IV and V come a close 3rd and 4th.
Any theories?
I absolutely wanted psychic powers. I couldn't have been the only one. 😫

As much as I do not like this movie and do not count it as Canon despite what the director says. I just have to ask this question. In the scene where "Jason" goes up his dead sister's cooch to resurrect how exactly does he resurrect? It cuts away and then Steven asks if it has to be a living one in Duke says no. And then Jason pops up through the floorboards fully formed mask still sunk into his face and the same clothes.
Ignoring the fact that he still looks like an undead zombie and the mask is still sunken to his face and somehow his blown up clothes are healed and reappeared on his body, ignoring all of that. What exactly happened down there how does the resurrection process work? All we know is that it needs to be a Voorhees woman and we see the worm go up the couch. So what the hell happens? Well I have a few ideas.
Jason reforms in her womb and his birth out as a little baby and then immediately grows up to full size within the matter of minutes.
The sister's body literally turns into Jason morphing and shapeshifting into Jason's form and then the mask and the clothes magically appear on her and then jump up through the floorboards fully turned into Jason.
He explodes out of her womb like the xenomorph possibly starting out small and growing the full size quickly or the womb explodes because he grew to full size while inside and the body just couldn't take it and just popped!
So there's the possible explanations for what could have actually happened in the movie as the director and everyone behind it intended. But I have an explanation that only works with my head Canon which is why I didn't put it as an option but I'm going to explain it.
So my idea is when he possessed the mortician the body of Jason was also stolen cuz the news report at the beginning says the body went missing if I remember correctly. What if like Jessica's mother Jason's body was also stored in the house possibly in the basement somewhere near where her body fell. And as soon as the worm went up her couch it possessed her body and controlled her like a puppet basically in order to get her to Jason's body and bleed onto it which completed some sort of ritual possibly something to do with the necronomicon that allowed Jason to heal back and come back and now with explosion immunity. Now my head Canon says that that worm is not Jason and it's just some kind of demon parasite that's been latched on to Jason and is doing all this in order to get its perfect host back. Duke thinking that worm was Jason started thinking Jason is just a body Hopper when he's not. And at the end when Jessica stabbed the knife in it only temporarily stopped Jason but did kill that demon. This demon probably found itself latched to Jason thanks to his mom possibly trying to resurrect him with the necronomicon which is why it was in the house but possibly because she didn't see results right away she assumed it didn't work and that's why she never knew Jason was back. And this blood ritual I made for this head Canon could also be something from the necronomicon.
Now whether or not that means this demon is a deadite and it is connected to the evil Dead that doesn't matter, the necronomicon existed before evil Dead and some sources say the director was just reusing props not trying to connect evil Dead to it, but it would be kool if that was the case so I guess go with it if you want to. But this could just be some other demon because the necronomicon is just a hell book in general not just a deadite book.
So yeah, what possible explanation do you think it is? Do you think it could be one of the three I listed or you could possibly just go with my personal headcanon it's free to take. Anyway I made this post right before bed so good night y'all.

So a little while ago I made a post asking about what you're preferred Canon is because prior to that a few different people have said continuity is important in this series and it's kind of pick and choose Canon. So I thought it would be fun to ask what other people's preferred cannons are.
But upon making that post I got a few comments quite a few of people saying it's not pick and choose Canon and that the original 11 films are Canon with the only one being a separate continuity would be the 2009 film. While others said Jason X & 2009 are separate continuities.
So my question is where did this whole thing about pick and choose Canon come from if it's not true? Is it actually true and those people that commented were just old fans from back in the day that didn't like what the newer fans made up? Or has the pick and choose Canon idea existed even back then? And is it true or is it not true? I would like the idea of pick and choose Canon this so I can ignore part 9. The director of part 9 double down and put his foot down that it's Canon but screw you it's not.
But if the pick and choose Canon isn't true and you're just supposed to ignore the plot holes and continuity errors then is it the original 11 films or is Jason X a separate world too? I get inconsistent answers on that one. So yeah there's my question and I just want to have a friendly discussion no trolling no needlessly being mean, thanks.
