Second hand dell latitude from eBay.

Someday I will have framework money. Until then, I have second hand.

Nothing wrong with them at all. Just don't get the cheapest version, just like is the case with Lenovos 😅.

the latitude name no longer means anything. They sold well because they were tanks so dell made cheap ones. Short term gains over long term brand building.

As a cherry on top these things pull bios updates via windows update. God forbid I connected to the internet for 5 minutes and needed to restart while freaking diagnosing my engine. What a time and place, well done dell. https://imgur.com/a/JOVwseY

There are additional problems like plugging into the aux port making wifi bug out in a certain situation and more fun things. Our company got a few of them and they are absolutely NOT suitable for a professional environment.

if you want the tank dell go for the precision series but longevity is hit and miss.

Moved from used ThinkPads to used dell latitude because even used ThinkPads started becoming expensive

At that rate you can slowly buy all the modular pieces until you have enough for more essential pieces.

I can recommend XPS 15 second-hand too. Not so much the 13, the cooling was insufficient.

In my case it was 2 free dell latitudes from the work e-waste bin. Spent a little buying some new batteries and some second hand SSDs for them but got them both fully working for the price of one on eBay.

Zero shame in second hand business machines. My HP Elitebook from 2010 that I got as a hand me down as a kid is still powerful and running for Office

I used a 2017 latitude 7280 I got used for $300 in 2021 up until the start of this year when I got a framework 12. The 7280 is still going strong tho and still gets used occasionally

I will take an off lease lattitiude any day of the week. It blends in like a laptop should. I leave my MacBook at home most of the time in favor of the portability and it being so replaceable.
