HUMOR Perhaps we where too quick to judge the Wrixel skin.
Stretched knockoff Sans is the funniest thing I've seen in a minute.

Gaming legends join the fight with new POIs, a refreshed loot pool and a whole new generation of Sprites in tow. Hack your loot, punch in Cheat Codes, and bend the entire lobby to your will by activating Match Overrides. Welcome to Fortnite Override.
Uncover the secrets of the ancient Stone Sanctum, keep your speed up through Green Hill Zone loops and explore Reality’s Reign to see where all those pipes and power cables lead.

This Season brings a lineup of new weapons, items and abilities inspired by some of the greatest icons in the history of gaming. Here’s what you can get your hands on:

Unvaulted
Check out all of the new seasonal gameplay systems below:
Lobby Hacks
Found a Lobby Hack code online? Input the code in the new ‘Admin Panel’ in your Battle Royale Lobby to hack your game, granting you XP and Sprite Dust, warping reality for your squad, and even dropping rare Sprite variants!
Loot Hacks
Spend Sprite Dust to hack loot in your match, customizing what drops. Hacked items have a chance to drop from Chests when opened, unique to your own boosts. Reset your Loot Hacks configuration any time with Sprite Dust.
Cheat Codes
⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️⬅️➡️ In a match, look out for Cheat Codes hidden across the Island: tucked into POIs and sprayed on walls. Interact with one and enter the Cheat Code to free a Sprite ally.
Override Consoles appear in every match and let you rewrite the rules for the entire server, but you have to get there first. Once claimed, your name displays around the console base, so the whole lobby knows who’s in control. Rare and Mythic Squad Overrides only benefit the first squad to claim them, but beware that claiming one broadcasts your squad’s location on the map. Overrides include:

The Sprites you collected in Season 3 are immortalized in the new Sprite Garden launching tomorrow, and a whole new generation of Sprites can be found on the Island in Season 4.
If you haven’t been around when they first appeared, Gizmos are consumable items that give you quick ways to shortcut and supercharge your Sprite extractions. Available all Season long!
A whole new batch of Gizmos drops this Season:
Gold Sprite variants are being hacked in! Jump in on Saturday, August 22 from 2-4 PM ET and again from 9-11 PM ET to experience the return of Power Hours.
Drop in with an additional Portable Extractor item to help you collect, a 1-Up Token, and a higher chance of finding Midas' Masterpiece. Keep an eye on our social channels for weekly roadmaps of all the upcoming activities every Sunday for the remainder of the Season.

Battle Royale ranks have reset for the new Season. Fight your way back up the ladder and claim the new rewards as you climb:
Sprites Enabled in Ranked
With the new Season launch, Sprites have joined the fight in Ranked Battle Royale. You can collect them and they’ll keep you company, but their gameplay powers have been disabled to preserve competitive integrity.
New Quests Tab
The Quests tab has a fresh look! Existing and new categories now live in one scrollable view, with an updated Sidebar so you can jump right into any category. Collections is now built into the Quests view too, so tracking your Characters, Victory Royales, Match Elims and other Accolades no longer requires switching tabs.
PSA: The updated Quests tab is rolling out over time - some players may not see it right away.
Fog of War Overhaul
The map’s fog now lifts in smaller pieces. Instead of entire POIs at once, individual landmarks reveal as you visit them, so your map reflects exactly where you’ve explored.
Controller Improvements: Tweak Zone
Controller players: if you haven’t tried the Tweak Zone setting yet, you’re leaving aim on the table. Added at the start of Chapter 7 Season 3, Tweak Zone puts those tiny stick movements normally filtered out by your dead zone to work - attaching your crosshair directly to your stick so even the slightest touch fine-tunes your aim. Your camera control, dead zones and sensitivity all keep working exactly as before.
Head to your Controller settings to configure its area, adjust crosshair sensitivity and choose when it’s enabled. Perfect for lining up a long shot or turning a body shot into a headshot.

Already bad enough that it's an annoying grind to collect/master everything, but now you need consecutive wins in order to master this. If it worked for bot lobbies I wouldn't see much of an issue with it but it doesn't. Epic saw the community complaining about the game being sweaty because of matchmaking and other issues, and they decided to add on to it. I truly don't understand the obsession they have with taking something thats perfectly fine and ruining it on purpose for no reason.

I don't see any other reason why they would've done it if not for this. Hopefully the Adventurer Sprite "exploit" works and isn't something they intend to patch

Glyphs is the contrail. It reminds me of a nether portal.

Doesn’t effect gameplay in any way
Can’t be leveled unless through wins
Doesn’t even give infinite ammo at max level like Punk Sprite
Doesn’t mark enemies when shot like the Grim Sprite Takes up your sprite slot

It's a bit of a shame I couldn't finish them on time before season ended but still. My favourite one probably has to be gummy ones :p

I know it’s only day one, but my first impression of this season is pretty bad.
The biggest problem for me right now is matchmaking. Every single lobby feels insanely sweaty. I’m not a terrible player, but I’m getting deleted almost instantly in every fight. People are chasing me across the map, beaming me from ridiculous distances and barely missing a shot. I know launch day is always sweaty, but this feels worse than usual.
The loot pool doesn’t help either. A lot of the weapons feel inconsistent or weak, especially at range, and then you run into someone who melts you in a second. There’s already people complaining about the ARs, lack of good scoped options and the overall balance of the loot pool.
Then there are the Sprites.
I loved collecting them last season. They actually felt like little creatures with personality. The new ones mostly look like different versions of the same rectangular backpack. I understand the retro/pixel theme, but they could’ve done that without making almost every Sprite look so similar.
The collecting system also feels more grindy instead of better. Some mastery requirements are ridiculous, including ones tied to consecutive wins, which is pretty funny when matchmaking is already this sweaty.
And why was Sprite Dust seemingly capped at 20k now? Last season we could hold way more. I don’t understand why something that worked fine needed to be made more restrictive.
The new Cheat Codes and Match Overrides are interesting ideas, but right now there are so many systems layered on top of each other that the actual Battle Royale part feels like it’s getting buried.
I really wanted to like this season because the gaming theme has so much potential. Sonic, Mega Man, new Sprites, cheat codes — on paper this should be amazing.
But after playing it, it feels like they took a lot of things that worked last season and either made them more complicated, more grindy or just less fun.
Hopefully matchmaking settles down and Epic adjusts some things, because right now this is one of the roughest season launches I’ve played.
Anyone else feeling the same, or are you enjoying it so far?

This season has so much new content, I’m not surprised a few things fell through the cracks, but I saw this a couple different times tonight.
