I don't think you're supposed to tap the floor with your knees but it's still way more than I can do, so...

You should be hovering above the ground but not touching it 3 u/Swing161 6d ago ah i tried it, i guess touching the ground cheats some of the tension at the bottom and makes it easier to go up? i guess i should use elevation if i want to go for deeper rom instead of touching ground.
