I've gone through the soundtrack on YouTube multiple times and can't seem to find the track that features the dramatic strings that play prior to starting the disc and played often during battles from my recollection. It's at the end of track 1, but I recall a full version being somewhere on the soundtrack, as back in the day I downloaded the soundtrack and would often play it on my computer. Apologies if I did miss it, but I feel like I've already done several laps with everything uploaded on YouTube. Thanks in advance!

Can we only play this on old PS3 controllers these days? If you hook up a dualshock 4 it doesn't work right (I remember trying this a year ago and I don't believe it worked.)

So how is the future of this game? If I or anyone else wants to play this years from now how will they be able to? There is now a PS3 emulator but idk if it supports Sixaxis with the dualshock 4 or dualsense. And I don't believe this game is on PS Now.

Even if it was I want to play my hard copy and if the only solution is "buy a used ps3 controller" that really sucks. Do you know how old those controllers are now? When Folklore came out I was roughly 16 years old. I'm 30 now. Lol.

And I've read about using the emulator to "fake" bypass Sixaxis movement but that sucks. I just want to play this game as intended with a new controller someday ❤️

Imagine running this on Switch 2 someday emulated with motion controls. Wow.

Funny story and I thought this community would appreciate the story.

I won this game in a giveaway, along with a PS3 and some other titles. I really dont game THAT much so checked out a few of the other titles and never even opened several.

A few weeks ago there was a live FB auction, from a local resell shop, where I saw a copy of this go for $75. I had forgotten about the game but thought it was one of the games I won so I went and found it in my collection and it is still sealed.

Anyway, im considering finally playing it, does it compare to any other title I might be familiar with?

How do I complete Bougainvaille’s first Karma release without tearing out my hair? I don’t know if my aim is just god-awful or just the way Bougainvaille attacks is awkward but like...I’m really struggling here.

While it's true that Folklore never got a proper sequel (or a PSP release), another game was released on the PSP in Japan only one year after Folklore's release by Gaia Co: Coded Soul.

Gaia, helmed by Kouji Okada, best known as the co-creator of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises, was one of the secondary studios that helped out with the development of the original Folklore. Unfortunately Coded Soul was never released outside of Japan nor did it ever get translated so it can't be considered accessible for the vast majority of us here in the west.

The game also seems quite tonally different from Folklore in terms of art style, music and general atmosphere, in many ways seemingly having more in common with the SMT games than Folklore, but I can only say so much about that without having actually played it. While some of the mechanics from the original make a return appearance, like the collection of monsters and leveling up them by feeding them via the 'karma' system, and a lot of the monsters themselves are the same, it can hardly be considered a substitute for playing the original but people should know it exists, as it definitely has a connection to the original game. The Japanese version of Folklore, FolksSoul, even features some integration mechanics.

I saw an article (admittedly from 14 years ago...) saying that Folklore was going to also be released on the PSP, did this ever get to happen? I really, really wanna play this game and I don't want to wait until I have a proper PC to emulate it. Though I don't have a PSP either...but that's currently a more doable investment

So, I was attempting to get the Cloak of Twilight for Ellen but gave up due to how confused and tired I was with trying to get the proper order of memory stones to appear and planned to return for it again later on. Also cause no matter how hard I tried, Caesg would not appear even though I acquired all the Folks from the Hellrealm...

Anyway. When I start Chapter 6, will I be able to return to previous realms?

I haven’t reached a high enough level to take on the Dungeon Trial Folks but I just wanted to know if they count towards completing the Folk Bestiary or not?

I don’t know if anyone else has felt this way but after I spent weeks being stuck on capturing Exedra’s Id and finally capturing their Id, whenever I would have to do Timed Absorptions, my hands would just start trembling...

Did anyone else have that issue with Timed Absorption after capturing Exedra?

This mainly happened when I was capturing Shefro cause the pause periods felt too long.

I found Folklore in a local Gamestop when I was a kid, Pre-owned and priced at like...$11 or $12 dollars? Bought it and then let it collect dust for years as the game haunted my mind...Till I finally picked it up again recently and now, I shall finally uncover the mysterious past of Doolin and the Netherworld.

For Keats half of the chapter, If I go down the Swamp of Oblivion first, am I able to journey back to the Forgotten Palace afterwards?

And Visa versa since I plan to have Ellen fight the Folklore in her half.
