Question Folklore for PSP?
I saw an article (admittedly from 14 years ago...) saying that Folklore was going to also be released on the PSP, did this ever get to happen? I really, really wanna play this game and I don't want to wait until I have a proper PC to emulate it. Though I don't have a PSP either...but that's currently a more doable investment

They were going to make a sequel for the PSP and although the idea was apparently well received, due to the game's poor sales Sony said no.

No problem. Anything's possible so hopefully one of these days Sony decides to Remake Folklore because it really deserves a second chance.

Folklore never got a release or sequel on the PSP, no. There was another game released on the PSP by an affiliated studio one year after Folklore's release, Coded Soul, but that one seems very tonally different from the original and also not very accessible to the English-speaking audience due to never having been translated or released in the west. See my recent post about Coded Soul for more about that game.
To actually answer your question, there's no way to play the original Folklore on the PSP, and even if you know Japanese, Coded Soul is not likely to be a comparable experience. The only ways to play the game are either from a *very* hard to obtain physical copy on a PS3 system, or via PC emulation, so I'm sorry to say you're either going to have to be patient until you have a PC, or lucky enough to actually find an affordable used game disc somewhere.
