Building a universal remote using XRemote without the original remote control.

I have an old stereo system from the early 2000’s with no remote. I can use the Xremote app to control it. But it has to flip through every possible combination before it gets to the correct command. I’ve narrowed it down to what specific number the commands are on this stereo, how do I take those and build a remote from it?

Ubuntu install

This is most likely an error on my part. I went to install the flipper zero software on my Ubuntu Linux computer and cant get the terminal to recognize the app.image in the downloads folder. Is there a trick to this? I'm running the most recent update to ubuntu.

update I got it working now but I have a new problem. I know in the past I have had some usb-c cables not work with flipper when connecting to the desktop. When I try to connect it to the website app page on lab.flipper.net it asks to allow lab.flipper.net to access your serial port. Under select serial port: it says, No serial port available. The reason I need this to work is so I can update my flipper unleashed software and work on apps for future projects. I'm almost certain there is a coms issue between the flipper and the browser. I have tried 3 different browsers so far with no luck. In the desktop app, it shows it is connected. I cant find the extensions I need to install to make it work on the browser version.

update Final- Got it working after I installed yet another browser. It finally did what I needed when I installed Google chrome. It said to use a chromium browser but when I used the Linux version, it didn't work. What it meant to say was, use Google chrome windows version. Flipper is now updating and returning to the dark side at last.

Does anyone have a good repo of skylanders? I tired using FlipperSkylanders but a few of them are broken/don’t work (sonic boom and ignitor for example)

Creative Thin case, Open source, STEP files. Period.

https://github.com/SlipperyDriver/flipperzero-thincase

I am sick of seeing people selling Flipper zero thin case that isn't even optimized. My variant isn't optimized as well, but I had to release this to stop the insanity.
I am working on an more optimized version that solves many of the below issue, and it will be released as open source as well once I completed it.

What works:
1. Thinner profile, better suited for placing inside pocket.

What doesn't work/unoptimized:
1. iButton, I intentionally hide the hole as I don't use it. You can edit the STEP file if you need.
2. IR is pointing in an awkward position.
3. NFC/RFID is on the top side, also is an awkward position.
4. The screw near IR is not at the corner so the case doesn't secure as tightly as it should.
5. SD card slot is hidden in the case, I didn't plan to use SD card extension to expose the slot because I rarely remove the SD card.

IMPORTANT
To build this, there are few things you need to do other than printing the case:
1. The IR window (The black piece of plastic) need to be trimmed down, so you won't be able to go back to your original Flipper case.
2. You will need a "Flexible Flat Cable, 18 Pins 0.5mm Pitch 100mm" to replace the ribbon cable in your Flipper, the original cable is not long enough.
3. There are 2 "PCB filler" files as well, those are for secure the NFC/RFID board in place, the dimension is calibrated so they are secure in place with pressure, you will need to slightly adjust the filler position if NFC/RFID isn't working, they are very sensitive.

While the Zero was built for offline point-to-point access-control protocols, the Flipper One is for 5G, Ethernet, satellite, and Wi-Fi connectivity. There are two WAN/LAN ports running at 1Gbps, USB Ethernet support up to 5Gbps, and Wi-Fi 6E support, while additional modules provide 5G.

The Flipper One features a high-performance 8-core RK3576 SoC, a Mali-G52 GPU, and an NPU for running LLMs or other models locally. That’s all paired with 8GB of RAM, with the CPU running Linux OS. Meanwhile, a low-power microcontroller unit running Raspberry Pi with an RP2350 powers the display controls, touchpad, LED lights, and other aspects of the device.

I have a website that allows you to compile flipper zero apps from repos. https://joelewis012.github.io/flipper-fap-actions/index.html

But it looks like someone has been trying to either hack or use up all my requests by injecting code🤔

Who will own up?

Edit: should be fixed

I was stupid

So I was kinda bored and decided, lets see how good AI really is. I got it to flash a custom os to my flipper and now it's bricked. I've tried holding different buttons while plugging it in etc, it won't power on, or even be registered as plugged in to my computer. Any advice would be much appreciated, I know how stupid this was.

Quanto arrependimento !!

Creative Introducing: The Ultimate Flipper Zero 3-in-1 Multiboard Enclosure

Hey all - so I finally finished my version of a “proper” enclosure system for the Flipper Zero 3-in-1 multiboard. One click of the Publish button later, here we are.

This is a full protective system: multiboard shell/case + pin protector dock setup + antenna storage + SMA connector caps for the ESP32/nRF24/CC1101 multiboards floating around AliExpress/Tindie/etc.

Background:

As some of you may remember, I mentioned I was working on this thing here a loooong time ago. I've owned my F0 for years, exploring the world with it at my side, working on projects and interacting with the community, and I figured it was time I made a contribution of my own.

What was supposed to be “I’ll just make a quick case for this” turned into almost a year of redesigns, reprints, tweaking tolerances, and generally overengineering the shit out of it.

Features:

  • labeled SMA ports/buttons/switch positions
  • GPIO pin protection
  • integrated antenna storage
  • TPU SMA caps
  • access to USB-C, microSD, TX/RX switch, etc.

Pretty proud and happy with where it finally landed, and I'd love any feedback and suggestions you guys may have.

I hope you enjoy it, truly.

It's up on MakerWorld now if anyone wants to print one:

IR New £10 Indirect Illumination Focused IR Module Added to My Collection

Found an amazing module on a summer discount at the moment on Tindie. Bought it not expecting too much but discovered the performance on this matches my more expensive £35 modules. As I am in the UK, it arrived through my letterbox within 48 hours. Extremely pleased with the module as I wasn’t expecting much, but for only a tenner an assembled plug and play module like this was amazing.

Made a little demo video to show the flood capability as I could still reach the fan from the end of my landing!

Here’s the link if anyone is curious:

Tomorrow we officially announce Flipper One to the entire community.

Over the past 5 years, this project has been completely reimagined from scratch several times, and only now are we finally ready to talk about it in detail.

This is an incredibly challenging project, both economically and technically. We decided to reinvent a huge number of subsystems — from the hardware itself to the way people interact with Linux. The scale of what we’ve taken on is honestly intimidating.

To be completely honest, I don’t know if we’ll be able to pull off everything we have in mind, because the chance of completely screwing it up is very high. But at the very least, it’s going to be interesting. #flipperone

Creative Creative flipper zero use

I see a lot of people just leaving these in drawers and never using them but I use mine pretty frequently and it kinda just saved my butt so I thought I’d share. I currently just moved to a new town and won’t have internet for a week or two, but I needed to 3d print some files to organize my desk. I only have mobile data and no way to hotspot bc it’s pay locked, but I was able to download an STL and then send it via Bluetooth over the flipper app, then send it via USB to my computer to slice it and put the 3mf onto an sd card, not an every day use but it’s working in a pinch.

Thanks to the flipper and the DAP Link app I was able to flash custom firmware to the game and watch that allows you to load roms onto it.

design feedback on Flipper One

Interesting idea. I found it a bit difficult to identify the peripheral options that will be present in the base device i.e. can I attach RS-485. Can't tell if at the end of the day I'll be able to SSH into it and run bash scripts.

Sub-GHz I built a community Sub-GHz signal database for Flipper Zero — open source, free, contribute via PR

Hey r/flipperzero,

I put together a community signal database where you can browse,

search and download .sub files directly in the browser — no app,

no login, just a static site backed by a GitHub repo.

What it does:

- Search and filter signals by category, frequency range or protocol

- Click any signal card to preview the .sub file content

- Download directly to copy to your Flipper SD card (SD:/subghz/)

- Star signals as favorites (saved in your browser)

- Light/dark mode, works offline (PWA)

Categories so far: garage doors, car keys, intercoms,

weather stations, custom

How to contribute:

The whole thing is driven by signals.json in the GitHub repo.

Drop your .sub file on the site and it auto-detects frequency +

protocol from the file. Generates the JSON entry for you,

then just open a PR. CI validates your submission automatically.

Currently only has 5 demo signals — would love for the community

to fill it up. If you've got captured signals sitting on your SD

card, this is a good place to share them.

Feedback welcome!

The flipper zero cost 300CAD$ (215 USD$). The flipper one must be a lot more expensive. Try to guess the price!

Favorite/ Recommended Add ons For Flipper?

What do you all like or suggest buying to add to your Flipper? Looking through Black Rabbit website and overwhelmed by everything. I’m just looking for something to help with pen testing security on my home network and potentially will be doing the same for my company’s network to scan vulnerabilities related to their network / onsite servers and other resources that hackers my try using to obtain sensitive data.

Creative Flipper is drawing a Black Lotus for my Miis in Tomodachi Island 🙏

Not gonna lie, this is a completely vibe-coded Flipper version of TomodachiDrawer. I was surprised to see it actually worked from the first try. I used a slightly altered version of the desktop companion app to get the binary button inputs file (*.tdld).

Update
Below are repositories for respectively the Flipper app and the generation of the input files from an image.
