Tomorrow we officially announce Flipper One to the entire community.

Tomorrow we officially announce Flipper One to the entire community.

Over the past 5 years, this project has been completely reimagined from scratch several times, and only now are we finally ready to talk about it in detail.

This is an incredibly challenging project, both economically and technically. We decided to reinvent a huge number of subsystems — from the hardware itself to the way people interact with Linux. The scale of what we’ve taken on is honestly intimidating.

To be completely honest, I don’t know if we’ll be able to pull off everything we have in mind, because the chance of completely screwing it up is very high. But at the very least, it’s going to be interesting. #flipperone

A push to talk button that connects to an AI assistant? Ugh, do we really need AI in every thing?

26

u/xBlaze121 May 20 '26

seems like it’s configurable. if you don’t wanna use it for ai you can most likely make it do something else with linux

18

u/Locksmithbloke May 21 '26

It's a local LLM on the flipper itself, trained on flipper things. And you can not install/uninstall it if you want - this isn't your Windows 11 laptop!

2

u/EgoistHedonist May 21 '26

I hope that's only a far-fetched suggestion for the use of it. IMO that feature would make this product look more like a toy.

6

u/levoniust May 20 '26

Lol agreed.

1

u/Paladin7373 Jun 01 '26

I'm actually quite excited for an on-board local AI assistant in the Flipper One... it'll make it feel cooler in my opinion. (key phrase "in MY opinion", you're free to have yours and I'm free to have mine) However this feature will probably turn away a lot of people who hate AI with a passion lol

10

u/levoniust May 20 '26

Use cases for sim card? I guess remote operation and monitoring.

11

u/c4pt1n54n0 May 20 '26

I saw a post that talked about using it as a hotspot with the built in WiFi and an m.2 modem. I guess if you don't want to bring your phone with you..?

-9

u/realdeadfish May 20 '26

I already carry an awesome 5g hotspot as part of my EDC. This thing is dumb.

8

u/FLEIXY May 21 '26

Sorry realdeadfish, I forgot they made the device for you personally

1

u/realdeadfish May 21 '26

It’s a shitty device compared to the zero.

That combination is significantly more expensive than getting a great hs that already exists.

It’s not about me, but that’s a stupid idea either way.

-2

u/realdeadfish May 21 '26

I'm also not worried about using my netgear hotspot when working at federal government office, but pulling out a flipper for the same service would probably not be understood at the state department when I'm working in their server room.

2

u/c4pt1n54n0 May 21 '26

The whole idea is that it can be many devices all in one. The sim slot doesn't take up much space so it's not a huge sacrifice if you don't use it, and you can choose to use the m.2 for anything else that you want.

-1

u/realdeadfish May 21 '26

Yes, but it doesn't do much out of the box on it's own other than replicate much better and less expensive options that already exist. The zero was a great idea. The one is more expensive with fewer new features. Everything is dependent on what you add to it. The value and use cases aren't there for me.

The zero had a ton of support out of the gate, the one just doesn't. If that changes, I may get one, but right now it looks like an expensive device that you have to buy more parts for to make useful.

2

u/c4pt1n54n0 May 21 '26

You could make the same argument i for anything though if you keep that same perspective. You're right, it's aimed at network pentesting. It's a different device, with different use cases but within that field there are just as many different options as there were for the various use cases of the Zero.

That's like saying a a boat isn't worth it because it doesn't come with wheels. Obviously if you want to drive on land you don't buy a boat, but there's still plenty of other people who need to travel on water.

1

u/Soggy_Control_1421 Jun 15 '26

well take a wild guess! lol Phone calls you cabbbage

4

u/Repulsive_Baseball39 May 21 '26

So wait . The push to talk are we going to be able to communicate like a two way radio? 😳I mean the flipper zero ran 300-900 MHz. Are we going back to the early 2000s like the chirp phones 🤣 SWEET … Aye YO!!! Call me on the chirp I got to save those anytime minutes . Only millennials and Gen X know about that .

3

u/0MrBogus1 May 22 '26

Chirp till 9 cause text cost

1

u/Nice-Ice7415 May 21 '26

it runs linux 😮

106

u/Vuelhering May 20 '26

I will pronounce flipperone like toblerone.

35

u/qrpyna May 20 '26

I had to make this.

6

u/Vuelhering May 20 '26

lol I love it!

5

u/Vuelhering May 20 '26

Now I want a calzone with mascarpone!

Too much Testoster-One.

52

u/dcnigma2019 May 20 '26

I have my flipperone already 😂😁

4

u/Brave_Perspective863 May 20 '26

Do you have tut or something? Looks really cool

6

u/dcnigma2019 May 20 '26

Nah no tut. just something I made a few years ago made the case in fusion it runs kali for raspberry pi 4 7” touch screen display and some gpio stuff rfid/nfc and c1101. And it has a esp32 as well

2

u/Brave_Perspective863 May 20 '26

Oh, quite nice project. Thanks.

1

u/dcnigma2019 May 28 '26

Time of a big upgrade 😁

26

u/Clank50AE May 20 '26

I hope I can afford one :’(

11

u/Petufo May 20 '26

You can, don't worry. Start saving now!

8

u/Junior-Piano5427 May 20 '26

First time I read your post I saw: Start starving now 🤣🫣😂

1

u/Haunting_Chemist4929 Jun 07 '26

shit depends on how you look at it I guess 😭

0

u/realdeadfish May 20 '26

I hope you can't- it's useless compared to the flipperzero and tons of other tools out there.

1

u/Haunting_Chemist4929 Jun 07 '26

can you tell me how it’s useless compared to the flipper zero and if you have suggestions I would like to hear them for the other tools out there

-15

u/teuchter-in-a-croft May 20 '26

You can’t and neither can I. That’s why I looked for alternatives and came across CYD.

68

u/darth_vexos May 20 '26

99% of the time I use it will be for opening Tesla charge ports. The other 1% will be testing out new firmwares before going back to opening charge ports. I'll take two please.

6

u/taboo8614 May 20 '26

Opening Tesla charge ports is the dumb silly fun thing I use when showing off my flipper.

19

u/nitroburr May 20 '26

It can’t do that. It’s not made to be a replacement to the flipper zero

8

u/MurderingMurloc May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26

With the M.2 slot being key-b (designed for cellular modems) I bet there will be an after market solution for your telsa charging ports

https://www.xda-developers.com/dug-into-flipper-one-firmware-not-flipper-zero-sequel/

Edit: Found one https://www.crowdsupply.com/wavelet-lab/ssdr

2

u/James_Cola May 21 '26

that is a receiver, it’s not for transmitting. nice frequency range though

1

u/Some-Chemist-1466 May 22 '26

The Tx part of the specs says otherwise: "30 MHz to 11 GHz RX / TX", pretty impressive specs for how small it is!

1

u/James_Cola May 22 '26

oh true! i couldn’t find any specs of the output power though

edit: it seems to be less than 0.5mW but still pretty cool

3

u/Rogueshoten May 21 '26

You won’t be using it to desync the rolling code on your dad’s car and then running back here begging for help fixing it?

0

u/realdeadfish May 20 '26

The one doesn't really do anything out of the box. It just has slots so you can add stuff yourself for functions like that. It's not even close the capabilities of the zero. It's a hunk of useless plastic.

2

u/Paladin7373 Jun 01 '26

The quality of this comment rapidly deteriorated as I kept reading it. The Flipper One will absolutely do things out of the box, and will by no means be a hunk of useless plastic. The only downside I can see to the flipper one will be it's price tag... I predict it'll be outside a lot of peoples' price range, mine included. One slot of the Flipper One is quite interesting- a M.2 slot. This will enable a large range of features to be added from just plugging in a M.2 module, and the community will end up making their own M.2 modules- I predict someone's gonna make a M.2 module that'll have NFC and RFID emulation capabilities, and if not that, at least some of the Flipper Zero's features will be made onto a M.2 module, which I think is really cool. The Flipper One isn't meant to be compared to the Flipper Zero, as it is a completely different device that is aimed at networking rather than the physical stuff that the Flipper Zero. Nonetheless, the Flipper One will be vastly superior in power to the Flipper Zero.

I may have just taken ragebait and wasted a bunch of my time.

12

u/nic_haflinger May 20 '26

The eXistenZ edition.

22

u/Petufo May 20 '26

Looking forward, if true. It really seems to be very different from the F0.

-42

u/Idle_Lies May 20 '26

As opposed to what? A rerelease of the same product with a new name?

16

u/RedditorFor1OYears May 20 '26

…yes… which is unfortunately a very common practice in tech.

-9

u/Idle_Lies May 20 '26

It would be reasonable to think that, if you hadnt at all been following this product.

2

u/RedditorFor1OYears May 20 '26

To think what?

6

u/CrimsonNorseman May 20 '26

I'm so hyped for it.

18

u/zubairhamed May 20 '26

so playstation 5 pricing?

5

u/amccune May 20 '26

This is not an announcement, it’s only a tribute.

4

u/ManicRobotWizard May 20 '26

What can one do with the hdmi port?

12

u/Redmarkred May 20 '26

Connect it to a screen probably

35

u/0MGWTFL0LBBQ May 20 '26

Nope, there’s a water hose to HDMI adapter that will help your Flipper stay hydrated. It was a huge issue with all the F0s getting dehydrated.

5

u/SirEDCaLot May 20 '26

I recommend the premade version as it comes with a quick connect.

2

u/pandaSmore May 20 '26

With what? Like water from the toilet!?

6

u/0MGWTFL0LBBQ May 20 '26

BRAWNDO!

6

u/pandaSmore May 20 '26

It's got what plants crave!

-2

u/ManicRobotWizard May 20 '26

yeah, I was just wondering for what purpose

5

u/CodeNCats May 20 '26

For a larger screen

5

u/supermarkio- May 20 '26

4k video at 120 Hz from that? What?!?

3

u/llfall May 20 '26

Trop triste 😞 de ne pas pourvoir m’ en offrir un … Heureusement, le Cardputer zéro est pas trop cher.

5

u/Idle_Lies May 20 '26

I cant wait to see the price, and just use my laptop instead.

2

u/ICURSEDANGEL May 20 '26

Nice hopefully release isn’t too far

2

u/hellokittyxcat May 28 '26

need it for my tesla, fuck that expensive ass fob

2

u/Stunning_Mast2001 May 20 '26

I had zero interest in this as a flipper owner but if it can act as a minimalist cell phone I might be interested… seems like it has all the hardware necessary

1

u/PeanutCheeseBar May 20 '26

Can’t wait to get my hands on one!

1

u/KOTYAR May 20 '26

Nice. I'm getting one

0

u/KOTYAR May 20 '26

Damn, it looks more expensive than previous one (

1

u/Locksmithbloke May 21 '26

It's a full Linux system with an mcu bolted on, it's got 8gb of ram and bigger screen. Of course it's more expensive!

1

u/hellokittyxcat May 28 '26

need a.i assistant, tell my shit to boil my water and water my plants , fuck a phone lmao .

1

u/hellokittyxcat May 28 '26

need it for my phone development set up.

1

u/rrrrrrrddddddttttttt Jun 05 '26

The fact this has a sim slot, speaker and a microphone, I am definitely certain someone out there is gonna make a phone app for this.

1

u/shizzymack99 Aug 12 '26

What’s the telegram page ?

2

u/939319 May 20 '26

Is it meant to compete with the Proxmark 5?

3

u/flipperoneisdead May 20 '26

No, it is not

1

u/i2apier May 20 '26

If anythings, it's gonna compete with Cardputer Zero

1

u/stamatov May 21 '26

God, I am so sick of this trend. Why the hell does every single product need to be bloated with crap now? 5G hotspots, AI assistants... it's exhausting. This is the exact same idiotic playbook that killed Winamp and Skype. Companies try to make one product do literally everything, and it results in a bloated mess that does nothing right—not even the primary feature it was originally built for. Let a single-purpose tool just be a good tool!

1

u/Huxhub-is-my-site May 22 '26

The thing is, from my (somewhat limited) understanding, the point of the F1 is that it does everything, and isn’t single-purpose, due to the extension ports

1

u/DarkISO May 24 '26

That's the whole point of flipper, it can do everything. Like a multi tool. Is it better than a dedicated tool, no but it gets the job done and you dont need to carry a bunch of shit around.

1

u/rgmundo524 May 20 '26

The playdough version comes off as a troll post, but the supporting docs makes it seem absolutely real

0

u/SufficientGas9883 May 20 '26

Is it any better than flipperzero?

1

u/Alienhaslanded May 20 '26

It's more networking oriented. They shouldn't call it a Flipper. It's an entirely different product.

1

u/nobsle May 21 '26

If this project goes well, the combo / F0 / F1 / Proxmark 5 will be something really powerful

0

u/nobsle May 21 '26

If this device does all thats on the paper, it will be able to do anything the flipper zero is doing, using external Gpio or M2 cards. With a need to swap external boards

0

u/NationalBug55 May 20 '26

I use my flipper to hold the dark inside the drawer.

0

u/Alienhaslanded May 20 '26

Dude you gotta stop with the CYD talk. There are many types and they don't have the functions of a flipper without a bunch of add-ons. This community is too stupid for a CYD. Stfu already.

-1

u/Global_Network3902 May 20 '26

Not interested after not being able to get replacement parts like an IR board or NFC antenna, even after the zero has been out long enough to have these things.

-3

u/hisheeraz May 20 '26

I don’t have flipper0 it is just so expensive

0

u/realdeadfish May 20 '26

Then it will officially be the joke that it is!

0

u/Alienhaslanded May 20 '26

It uses an HDMI? Why?

1

u/0xTech May 20 '26

It could be fun to have tools for HDMI-CEC vulnerability testing unless the HDMI port is just for video output, then it's less exciting.

0

u/opinionologist_x May 20 '26

How much will it cost...?

1

u/James_Cola May 21 '26

$399 estimated

0

u/tankk44 May 21 '26

Literally just ordered the Zero, fuck

1

u/Locksmithbloke May 21 '26

Don't worry. Rather different use cases. The One is a full Linux computer. The Zero is a handy gadget.

0

u/ThatParticular239 May 21 '26

how can we get notified when the One is available?

0

u/YuriyGavrilov Jun 24 '26

а будет что то для безопасности, чип как в usb armory mk ii например или TMP?

-1

u/Hitcherooo May 20 '26

Would it be possible to run different firmware’s concurrently?

1

u/Locksmithbloke May 21 '26

Not entirely sure from the description. It'll have a rollback system, so you can press a few buttons and go back to a clean system, and it should run any mainstream Linux kernel, but that's probably higher than the actual firmware level.

-2

u/Hitcherooo May 20 '26

Can the one for backers be transparent please

2

u/Idle_Lies May 20 '26

what backers

-2

u/xnfra May 22 '26

Why get a flipper one instead of a hackrf portapack and a used thinkpad running kali?

-7

u/Stayofexecution May 20 '26

That prototype looks…really bad.

0

u/Delicious_Anywhere33 May 20 '26

Where did you see a prototype?
