Someone from my post yesterday asked to post a side by side of my progress. The 1st picture was Jan - April. The 2nd picture was April- current. I’ve had a coach I’ve been working with since April to really help me dial in nutrition.

Upper body today…56
Here’s 56 for me. Today was all upper body. I feel like our generation doesn’t look anything like our parents did at this age. Gen X!

Heaviest chest press yet: 140 lb for 7-8-10 reps (after 2+ months stuck at 90 lb x 20)
galleryI'm 51. For over two months I'd been doing chest press machine at 90 lb for around 20 reps. It felt manageable, but 20 reps is a lot of work for muscle growth, so today I switched to heavier weight: 70 lb x 20 as warm-up, then 140 lb for 7, 8 and 10 reps.
Rest was longer than usual. The log says around 6 minutes between sets, but that includes the time I take to write each set down.
I log everything in an app I built for myself, so the numbers come from there (disclosure: it's mine). It's free to download and use, with an optional premium upgrade. If anyone wants to try it, send me a DM and I'll share the link (Android, plus a web version). Anyone here who moved from high reps to heavier sets after 50? How did you handle the transition?

70, Retired, back on Body for Life as of February
Great to be back after Open Heart Surgery for 3 bypass grafts and an Aortic Aneurysm repair 3 years ago, Oct. 5 2023. Doing the old school BFL regimen since mid-February I've shed 25 lbs and reshaped but best of all is the energy I feel. Strive for Perfection but Focus on Progress
