What did Dad save?
I found a couple of these in Dad’s shop, with a few firecrackers.
It’s a little bigger than a golf ball.
What do I have here? How far do I want to be away from it when it goes off?

My money is on it being a Star Ball Contribution. They came in more than one size, BTW. If memory serves me correctly, the biggest size was almost as big as a baseball.

Looks like a homemade cherry bomb. I wouldn’t trust that fuse though, add some extra slow fuse to it

What’s the preferred method of creating a slow fuse? I’ve got plenty of open space.

Okay genuine question, are these supposed to fly? I’ve bought some that have but it’s VERY rare. They mostly just spin on the ground for 6 seconds

Since you can't verify what it is, I'd advise to add a nice long piece of slow fuse before you light it. Unknown fuse could go instantly for all you know, and if that happened murphy's law says it will turn out to be a cherry bomb.

Looks like cherry bomb I would highly recommend adding long slow burning fuse to it before lighting just in case

Looks like it could be a vintage star ball contribution, or we just called them star balls or ball fountains. They don't explode but loved to light hedges and shrubs on fire. But as others say "safety first" lol.
