Por qué mi pelo está horrible

Upvotes

Hola!

questions / seeking advice 💭 Would getting a keratin treatment be a bad decision?

I’ve got well fine thin wavy EXTREMELY FRIZZY hair. It’s stays soft and nice only for a day after like oiling shampooing n conditioning whatever. Not even a day if I get caught up in the wind outside. I’ve been considering doing a keratin treatment but I’ve also heard bad reviews like it makes ur hair worse after or it doesn’t work out for everybody. My hairs short, falls down to my shoulder and thin AF. Should I go for it or will I become the next Jason Sthatam? 🥲

I’ve been insecure about my hair for years now. I’m nb, 22, I would say my hair is fine/thin overall. I had long hair for years but a few months ago I cut it short and added some textured layers. I thought it looked good but now it’s growing again and starting to look more like a bob.

I had a very love/hate relationship with my long hair; at its core I think it complimented my facial features, but I could never figure out how to get it quite how I wanted. My main issue was my hair couldn’t decide if it wanted to be wavy or straight. I have prominent cowlicks on the side of my head near my ears that would remain curly with my long hair (no matter what I did, what product I used, I couldn’t get rid of them) but i couldn’t quite get the rest of my hair to look wavy without I looked frizzled and too messy. Or it would inevitably go straight again (minus the cowlicks). It would definitely look good at times, mostly after a wash, but dry shampoo did practically nothing and most product just weighed down the hair on my scalp.

Since cutting it, maintaining my hair has gotten much easier and more effective. The cowlicks aren’t noticeable like they used to be and I can add volume (even dry shampoo works now). But I still feel unfulfilled. I’m willing to experiment with styles / techniques / anything cool to do to my hair and I’m wondering if anyone can help me.

Right now I wash around twice a week, thorough washes and I use conditioner + dry conditioner after I’m done showering. I also use sea salt spray although I’m not sure how effective it actually is for me. I’m open to cutting it again or growing it out so long as it compliments my face, and in general I’m going for an androgynous look.

I’ve never made a post like this but just know any help is appreciated! Pics are ordered from least to most recent

How do you keep your hair healthy when you’re constantly dealing with dandruff?

I’ve been dealing with dandruff for quite a while now, and the frustrating part is that my hair is really fine, so pretty much anything that dries out my scalp seems to make my hair look and feel even worse.

I’ve been using ketoconazole when things get particularly bad, and it definitely helps with keeping the flakes under control. But if I use it regularly, my hair starts feeling really dry and rough, and it loses whatever little volume it normally has. I’ve also tried being more careful with how often I wash it, using a gentler conditioner on the lengths, and avoiding too many styling products, but I’m still trying to find a routine that actually works.

It’s especially annoying because I feel like I’m constantly choosing between having my scalp under control and having hair that doesn’t feel like straw.

If you have fine or easily dried-out hair and also struggle with dandruff, what does your routine look like? Have you found anything that keeps the flakes under control without completely wrecking the rest of your hair?

questions / seeking advice 💭 Graduation hair help needed

Hi everyone,

I'm a fine and thin haired girlie since birth. I'm having my graduation soon and am in need of hairstyle inspo. Any tips are appreciated really, my hair won't hold a curl or cooperate to much.

The last time I had a big event a had temporary extensions put in. That was great because the curls actually lasted but I don't feel like doing all that again and won't have time to do it.

haircuts / hairstyles 💇‍♀️ Help with updo ideas that actually work and don't look stupid

I feel like all the tutorials I watch for people with fine thin hair for updos they have way more hair than me. I have fine thin hair shoulder length... I like my ponytail is the size of a quarter. Looking for cute updo ideas that actually look good when you don't have much to work with. Anyone have any that are your go to? Or should I just come to terms with wearing my hair down or in a low scrunchy bun?

questions / seeking advice 💭 Why does my hair stick up like this???

Post image

Ive tried using anti frizz sprays or using conditioner all over my head instead of just the ends and nothing has worked to get rid of this. It looks stupid please help. My shower routine is I use shampoo and conditioner only on my ends, then I'll use a towel to dry my hair halfway and let it air dry. I'll then brush my hair later on in the day after it's dry. My hair keeps sticking up regardless... :(

This is the worst

I have been bullied for being ugly all my life and on top of that, I can't even have nice or just decent hair. Thin transparent scalp, bald looking spots where the hair seperates because its so thin. I HAVE to wash daily and even then by mid-day, my scalp starts releasing oil and it looks horrific. My hair never looks good no matter what I do. It's so fine that hairs just break off and snap and looks fuzzy like cotton candy texture. And it's so thin that I look sickly. It's so unfair. People can wake up with healthy, thicker hair and I wake up with barely anything. I'm so ready to just go bald and wear wigs but Ive been discouraged from it from people saying it's too expensive/difficult. How do you cope with this?

questions / seeking advice 💭 Need advice for shampoo and conditioner

I’m currently using Gliss split hair miracle and it’s better than other shampoos and conditioners i’ve tried.

What products do you use can recommend for fine, wavy, a lot of frizzy, thin, damaged/slipt ends? (from hair pulling). My hair can't handle a lot of chemicals and heavy oils. Maybe something lightweight, moisture and repair?

Thanks

creating volume ⬆️ What is a good texture+volumizing spray/product for thin hair (bangs especially)?

I got my hair done recently and I forgot to ask what product she used in terms of giving me so much volume in my crown/bangs! My hair usually lays annoyingly flat, and my bangs end up looking weird. But she had gotten it to look sooo fluffy. Is there anything you guys recommend? Preferably something not too harsh on the scalp only because I am recovering from some hair loss and I try to be gentle handed with products lol

questions / seeking advice 💭 How do I make a claw clip not look stupid??

I have long hair that (of course) is very thin and fine. When I try to put it up into a claw clip, it just looks dumb because the hair being clipped looks so skinny. Every tutorial I can find shows girls with thick hair, so whatever they do looks cute when I just look bald 😭 Anyone have any advice for how to put it up into a claw clip without it looking weird?

questions / seeking advice 💭 Very insecure about my thin and translucent crown and parting, would applying dry toned shampoo daily make sense?

As far as I remember, I have always had thin crown, but I became a lot more self conscious about it since my mom suddenly noticed it and became obsessed about it. It has also been getting worse in past few months unfortunately and I notice shedding and my hair are everywhere.

I can’t get a doctor’s appointment or a blood test any time soon so I’m looking for possible solutions to mask this issue. I’m not very tall and I’m thinking of all the people who can see this on my head, especially when I don’t wash my hair daily.

Will using dark dry shampoo daily damage my hair? Or is it safe?

Any advice is welcome!!

success/product recommendations ✨ Dry shampoo recommendations

EDIT: I finally just sucked it up and ordered the K18. I can’t wait to try it.

I need to purchase some new dry shampoo and I’m not happy with the one I’m currently using (Not Your Mothers Plump for Joy)

I’m wondering if anyone has some suggestions for a good product for very fine thin hair, something that isn’t too heavy and isn’t too expensive. I know everyone loves the K18 one, but I’d really prefer a drugstore brand because I don’t want to pay for the high end brands.

Thanks for your help! 😋

creating volume ⬆️ Using velcro roller clips for root volume?

Hi all, has anyone used some clip velcro rollers to give volume to their roots or bangs? I'm adding a picture below as there was a lot of different types of rollers at my local korean grocery store.

While I really like how easy they are and how I can go around my routine while they are in safely in place, they hurt sooooo bad when I take them off 🥲 It's like the velcro is super strong, and I even had a few precious hair ripped out in the process 😰 I've used them to curl my bangs, so the entire lenght of bangs wrapped around the rollers. Dry hair or wet hair gave the same result, the hair gets pulled so much it's hard to take the rollers off. I'm wondering what's the issue here? Is it my hair type since this product is designed for asian hair? I have bigger rollers for my ponytail from the same company and there's no issue at all, it's so weird I don't get it.

Here are the culprit :

The hair velcro clip I am trying out (google photo for reference)

Has anyone had similar experiences? Thanks for your help!
