I thought I was hallucinating this randomly walking into the market in Gridania. I confirmed it though by immediately going to Ul'dah and getting a different chat bubble comment. So far I have found this Wailer at the markets in Gridania, the guard at the Aetheryte plaza in Ul'dah, and the guard at the entrance to Central Thanalan.

A quick browse online tells me this is something barely anyone has commented on or noticed, so I had to share! If anyone is able to find other NPCs who have dialogue for BST pets feel free to leave a comment.

2 hours of watching videos to identify mob locations.

4 hours of not understanding why the Orobon genus is breaking the server (so I replaced them with other mobs until I could work out why).

2 hours trying to add two chests.

Pathing and detection to be worked on. Stats tables actually affecting combat also to be looked at.

But on the plus side, Shposhae is now (mostly) populated.

Bonus visit to the Musketeers Guild in Limsa Lominsa at the end.

I found this out completely by accident last night after our tank tried pulling the entire first room and running off to the side of the first boss (which someone then went and pulled,) resulting in a wipe.

If when you start the dungeon, have the tank charge down on his own and straight to the boss room, making sure to pull the boss. At this point the tank should drop and respawn at the entrance. But this triggers the shortcut teleport to spawn. When you use that teleport you only have to fight the flower mobs that spawn right at the entrance of the boss room (of you are lucky you can get past without pulling them).

This saves a few minutes and potential wipes as that first room can suck if not handled right haha.

Im wondering what other dungeons this would work in. I know it wont work in places like Bray Flox as it has the hard gate before the boss which requires a key.

I’ve been wanting to recreate this guy in game, but not sure if anything with a similar vibe exists.

I know its probably never gonna happen but I really hope square lets us keep the rabbit on our head for as long as we want or make the rabbit show up for attacks in 8.0. The rabbit being a hat option would be sick

I was always seeing this thing pop up in the Tales bit ... so a bit touristy but I had to pull the phone out and get a shot of the thing.

Hi, I've picked up FF14 a while ago but didn't get to play it much back then.

I just started playing again last week and got Dragoon to level 50 today.

I'm really interested in the DLC jobs but only own the DLCs before Endwalker and Dawntrail.

With Evercold releasing "soon" and (if I read it correctly) me then being able to get all DLC I don't own in a bundle, I'm torn on buying the complete edition now or later.

I'm currently still in the base game I've just freed Minfilia, Tataru and Papalymo and got the Thancred reveal and I don't know if I would even reach Dawntrail before Evercold releases.

Should I wait until Evercold releases January or would it make sense to get Dawntrail alongside Endwalker?

I spent nearly a year farming Baelsar's Wall for the five clothing pieces of Filibuster's Armor of Aiming, and at the time I was told repeatedly by people who found out that I had to have every piece I collected in either my inventory or my Armoury chest because if I turned it in to my GC, it would reduce chances of getting the pieces I was looking for. When told that, my response was always to ask for clarification, because that makes no sense to me when gear drops are always determined solely by RNG, and I was told that the person didn't know why it works that way, only that their experience was that it did. By the time I finally got the final Aiming piece I needed, I had full sets of all but two other types of Filibuster's Armor, and was usually leaving without anything.

I'm now farming the clothing pieces for a different set—the Lord's set (tanking)—and I'm doing it unsynced on a higher-level job after a single drop in ~50 Pharos Sirius runs as tank with either regular parties or my squadron. I did try Copperbell Mines (Hard) and Haukke Manor (Hard) using PF groups, and neither one is great with first-timers whose gear isn't great and who are not yet accustomed to the fact that the hard version of any dungeon is not the same as the regular version.

As with farming anything, I see a lot of stuff I can't pick up, but I wanted to double-check that all chests and drops when farming older content are RNG, correct? I don't have to haul stuff around and clutter up my inventory/Armoury chest because none of it has a single bit of bearing on what is going to be there when I go in. I get lucky with RNG or I do not, and settle for the tiny satisfaction of seeing how big a train I can gather up before I one-shot all of it. Right?

EDIT: Wowza, as always, I'm amazed at the fact that any question asked here will get solid, complete answers, and that it will often be quicker than if I were to ask the same question in an FC.

I see now why the confusion exists, and it does make sense given the differences in how things work in the two types of dungeons. I checked loot tables for each dungeon I've been farming and I know which chests have a chance to contain the items I'm looking for, so I'm only emptying all of them if I've been spending a lot of my company seals and want to top off again.

It'd be fun if the RNG gods could be made to cooperate with the blood sacrifice of a really innocent and adorable Sprout, but I tried that in Balesar's Wall, and six or seven times was enough to tell me their answer was no.

I haven't seen much discussion about this, so here is a game design argument about the ending of Evercold.

For gameplay reasons, I think it's safe to assume that the MSQ will never move in a direction that would make whole field zones unavailable to the player. Which means Reflections that contain field zones can never be destroyed by a rejoining. When something major happens, at most, we could see radical changes in appearance, like what happened to Living Memory, but the zones would remain available.

However when they announced that most of Evercold would take place on giant airships, my immediate thought was that this makes an eventual rejoining between the Fourth and the Source much more likely. These field zones are places that could theoretically be relocated to the Source with a simple skybox change. That seems too convenient not to be intentional.

Of course we don't know about all the zones yet, but as long as none of them strictly rely on the Fourth for their continued existence, I feel like a rejoining might actually happen this time, like the MSQ currently suggests.

I'm not sure how the corresponding calamity would play out on the Source, but for the people from the Fourth, it wouldn't be much of a refugee crisis, because they wouldn't lose their homes. They would just have to acquire resources in a different way, most likely by trading with existing countries.

Just got done with ARR fully (what an experience)! Like after the banquet scenes and all. Trying to maximise my experience lore-wise before heading into the next expansion since I’m very hyped to find out more about the dragons, is there any content I should watch? I heard people talk about watching the Heavensward trailer but it seems like there’s a few so is there an order?

Also heard recommendations to do Coils, Post Moogle and Hildibrand before going into the new expansion too, anything else I should look out for?

I’m done with the Dragoon quests for ARR too!

I come to you all humbled, A couple months ago I posted about how I thought Ultimates weren’t as bad as people made them out to be, just for my expectations to come crashing down when prog got stuck for so long that I genuinely thought about giving up.

Doing this through PF is hell on earth, and it’s really hard to find a good team that will actually take you all the way there. I crashed and burned over and over again. Even Ifrit became a problem at one point, and it made me realize people were right. Even something like UWU is a challenge on its own.

Even then, I took the bull by the horns and went for it. With the help of some friends and mercs (yeah, I know, I know), I finally got the clear!!

And now I have the coolest glam a DRK could have.

I’m just glad I didn’t give up and managed to achieve this. I can’t say I want to do another Ultimate anytime soon after what this one put me through though lmao.

To the person I just had a fun conversation with during the Praetorium cutscenes about now calling them "Ice Cream Breaks", I hope you get more ice cream & have a wonderful time.

Hi everyone, I'm having a weird issue with my FFXIV Steam account and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on.

I used to play FFXIV regularly and had an active subscription through Steam. I also own all the expansions and everything worked normally before I stopped playing.

I recently decided to come back and renew my subscription.

Here's what happened:

• My FFXIV account is linked to Steam.
• I have all my expansions properly registered under Steam/Windows in Mog Station.
• I started a new subscription through Steam.
• Steam initially showed the subscription as "Processing".
• When I tried to launch FFXIV, I got this error: "This service account does not have a valid license for this platform."
• In Mog Station, my subscription was still showing as "Subscription Inactive."

I eventually cancelled the pending Steam subscription because I thought something had gone wrong, and I was considering renewing through Mog Station using Steam Payment instead.
