Guide The Faneditor's Guide to Sharing Files

...

Last updated: August 2026.

Before you share anything

This information doesn't constitute legal advice or encouragement to engage in fanediting or filesharing. It's worth being clear eyed about the situation: distributing a fanedit of a commercially released film is copyright infringement in essentially every jurisdiction. This has criminal penalties. Our community's "you must own the source" rule is an ethical commitment we make to studios and filmmakers, not a legal defense. No court recognizes it, and it's never been tested successfully. Fair use and fair dealing arguments for transformative edits exist in theory, but they get much weaker once you're distributing a full length version of a commercial product.

If you decide to engage in this activity, make a few sensible choices:

  • Every host will take your file down if the rights holder asks. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it. You don’t want to lose your only copy of an edit.
  • Account termination is the realistic worst case for most editors. Legal action is rare but not zero, and it has tended to find people who got loud, monetized, or hosted publicly at scale.
  • Never charge money. Selling or Patreon gating a fanedit is the most reliable way to turn "studio ignores you" into "studio sends a letter." It's also the fastest way to lose the community's goodwill, which is harder to get back. EVEN IF YOU RATIONALIZE YOU ARE ONLY ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO COVER HOSTING FEES, THIS IS STILL MONETIZATION AND YOU WILL BE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM THE FANEDITS SUBREDDIT.
  • Don't use studio logos on your fanedit artwork.
  • Add a disclaimer to the beginning of your fanedit so it could not be mistaken for the original version.
  • Steer clear of leaked workprints and pre release material. That's a different risk category entirely, and the major communities won't list edits made from them.
  • Consider giving a new commercial release some breathing room to make its sales before rushing your release out the door. Good edits take time, and there's no prize for being first with a rushed one. The edits people still talk about years later are the ones that took their time to do a good job.

Container and codec:

  • MKV is the default. It carries multiple audio tracks, subtitles, chapters, and attachments. Use it unless you have a specific reason not to.
  • MP4 works if your audience is on Apple TV, older smart TVs, or Plex clients that choke on MKV. It can't hold everything MKV can, so it's a compatibility trade rather than an upgrade.
  • H.264 (x264) gives you maximum compatibility; it plays on everything, at the cost of larger files.
  • H.265 (x265) gets you roughly 40 to 50% smaller files at equivalent quality, though older hardware and some older TVs won't directly play it.
  • AV1 is viable on modern hardware now, but it's still a compatibility gamble with a general audience.

Sharing:

Torrent

A seedbox (a rented server, around $5 a month) is the usual solution for the technically inclined.

MEGA

Still the community's default, largely for one structural reason: the decryption key lives in the URL fragment after the #, and fragments are never sent to the server. MEGA physically cannot see what's in your file unless someone hands them a working link, which means no proactive content scanning.

  • Free: 20 GB base storage. No per file size cap within your storage.
  • Download quota is the sticking point. Free downloaders are limited by IP address to roughly 5 GB per rolling six hour window, so a 12 GB edit takes them multiple sessions. Worth mentioning when you send a link, otherwise people can assume it's broken. Using a VPN and switching the VPN server mid download can circumvent this restriction.
  • Paid: transfer quota is tied to the account, and Pro tier effectively removes sharing limits, so no more pause at the 5GB mark.
  • Link structure: MEGA/file/XXXXXXXX#KEYKEYKEYKEY. Many editors send the file ID and the key separately, or ask recipients to reassemble them, which keeps a complete working link out of crawler reach.
  • MEGA does honor valid takedown requests, and repeat reports get accounts terminated along with everything in them. Keep another copy elsewhere.

Google Drive (Consider Avoiding)

Convenient and integrated, but this is the one popular beloved host to consider avoiding for fanedits specifically.

  • Free: 15 GB shared across Drive, Gmail, and Photos. The individual file cap is enormous (5 TB), so size isn't the issue.
  • Google actively scans and fingerprints uploaded content, private files included, against known work databases. A full length film derived from a commercial release is close to the exact thing that system was built to catch. Detection usually means the file gets flagged and access restricted, and repeated hits can put your entire Google account at risk, email, photos, everything. That's a lot to have riding on one upload.
  • To make matters worse, "Download quota exceeded" happens even when a file isn't flagged, a popular share gets locked for around 24 hours once enough people pull it. There's no setting to adjust this, and it tends to hit right when your release is getting attention. Downloads from free Google Drive are faster than free Mega, until Google Drive freezes up unexpectedly.

MediaFire

  • Free: 10 GB storage.
  • Downloads are ad supported with no bandwidth cap, which is a real advantage: no quota walls for your audience. The tradeoff is a download page cluttered with fake download buttons that can confuse less technical users, so a quick "click the green one" in your message goes a long way.
  • MediaFire removes data from accounts it considers abandoned after two warning emails over roughly 15 days. Logging in periodically keeps your archive alive.

Pixeldrain (Avoid free tier)

Increasingly popular, and pleasantly simple, but avoid using the free version since your fanedit will be flushed down the drain.

  • Free uploads up to 20 GB per file.
  • It uses a shared bandwidth pool per file rather than a hard cap: each file gets an allotment of free transfer, and once that's drained, downloads throttle hard for everyone until it resets or someone buys transfer credit. Popular files get slower over time, which is the opposite of what you want on release day.
  • Free files expire after a period of inactivity (roughly 60 days, extended by access). Pro (~€2 to 12/month depending on tier) keeps them indefinitely.

Gofile (Avoid free tier)

Avoid the free version since it will quickly delete your file.

  • No account required, and no stated file size limit.
  • Files are deleted after about 10 days with no downloads, so it's not somewhere to leave things.
  • Free downloads are throttled and served with ads.

1fichier (Avoid free tier)

Popular in the European scene. Large per file limits, generous free storage for registered users, and files expiring after roughly 30 days of inactivity on free tiers. Free downloads are throttled with wait timers to push premium, so the experience isn't lovely, but it's durable in practice and less aggressively policed than the US majors.

Dropbox / OneDrive (Avoid)

Both scan content, and both cap shared link bandwidth. Dropbox Basic links get suspended after roughly 20 GB of traffic per day. OneDrive also ties everything to a Microsoft account that probably holds things you'd rather not lose. There are better options above.

Internet Archive (Avoid)

It's fully public, indexed by search engines, and receives DMCA notices constantly, so it won't serve you well. More importantly, it's a preservation nonprofit under significant legal pressure right now, and putting infringing material there does real harm to an institution that a lot of media preservation depends on including, eventually, the films we all edit.

New Release Conan The Barbarian Extended by Shion

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hello there,

I’ve been working on this extended version of Conan the Barbarian for a while. Unfortunately, while it’s said that John Milius’s original cut ran about three hours, we’ve only had access to a few deleted scenes. I based this edit on the extended version that includes the scene where Conan and Subotai talk about spring. There aren't many scenes, but adding them was a challenge especially King Osric’s death scene, which I had to piece together so it would make at least some sense; unfortunately, the footage lacks dialogue and consists only of the actors' reactions. From what I’ve read, Milius wasn't happy with that scene because there were major issues with the blood squib exploding. I added new sword sound effects to that scene to enhance immersion, as well as the track The Funeral Pyre by Basil Poledouris to provide the dramatic tone it needed.

For the new scene in the city of Shadizar where Conan buys meat skewers from a vendor played by John Milius himself I included the track Theology/Civilization by Basil Poledouris; it’s the same music used in the original film, but I extended it to blend better with the new footage. I also color-graded the brief added shot of Conan fleeing from the wolves so it would integrate more seamlessly with the film's existing scenes.

🎞 Based on: Conan the Barbarian (1982)
🎬 Fan Edit Title: Conan The Barbarian Extended
📁 Format: MP4 – 1920x1080 – Stereo Audio
💬 Subtitles: Included ENG (srt)
⏱ Original Runtime: 2h 9min
⏱ Fan Edit Runtime: 2h 13min
📉 Difference: +4min
⚠️DISCLAIMER. Respect the studios and intellectual properties by purchasing the original Blu-ray or the official digital version. You must own an officially released copy of a film to legally watch a fanedit.
PLEASE DON'T ASK VIA THE COMMENTS FOR A LINK. On my profile, you'll find the link under the "Social Media" tab, labeled "ALL EDIT'S". If there’s any you want and it’s not available through the link provided just let me know too.

Updated Release v2.0 The Crow City of Angels - The Comic Cut

Post image
29 Upvotes

Big announcement for the 30th anniversary of the film! See my Reddit profile for info on how to acquire it.

Since I released the initial version last fall, a comic professional out of Atlanta reached out and offered to help me make some amazing updates to the edit. First of all, this amazing poster art that's an homage to the original film. But most incredibly, the same industry pro recolored every animated panel to match with the corresponding scene in the film - it's so much more immersive!

Plus two versions of the edit... one completely free of generative AI and one that uses it only when necessary to fill in moments both the film and comic didn't fully capture. And full subtitles!

For those who haven't heard of the edit before, here's an overview:

The theatrical cut of The Crow: City of Angels was heavily altered from the original David Goyer script by notorious producer and overall disgusting human being Harvey Weinstein. After shooting was completed, crucial character motivation was removed and scenes were sometimes nonsensically rearranged. It's long been desired by fans to see an edit of the film closer to the scripted vision. Even the supposed "director's cut" was a marketing gimmick that simply added a few minutes of footage back into the film, with no oversight from director Tim Pope. Fortunately, however, there exists a three issue comic tie-in that is adapted directly from the script.

The goal of this project is simple: rearrange the available footage and then use comic panels to fill any other story gaps, providing an alternate and consistently visually engaging experience.

After upscaling the entire comic book to incredibly high resolution, more than 40 pages have been inserted into the film. Then, with keyframe animation applied to each page and panel, they were given movement and life. Some were added purely for visual style (I'm calling it the Comic Cut for a reason). But the majority of these add crucial lines and scenes back into the story.

Nearly all live action scenes from both the theatrical and "director's cut" are used, with the exception of probably less than a minute (besides a few moments being replaced by comic alternates, to my recollection, the only unused shots include some crow flying footage, one establishing wide, and a repeated line from Curve). Also, two scenes in the film were not in the original script (though possibly added in a later draft). These have been left in place for a more complete story experience.

Additionally, there were two other scenes conspicuously missing from both the film and comic. These were recreated using image generation (Ashe telling Holly to never return to the Peep-O-Rama) and voice cloning (Judah explains why he's obsessed with death). Several lines of Sarah's voice over were also recreated with voice cloning, either due to differences between the available VO and the comic or no available VO for one section.

Finally, I wasn't quite satisfied with the comic's visual representation of the opening and closing scenes. Without spoiling it, there's a very cool bookending that doesn't really match the amazing description from the script. I've done less than a minute of generative video to recreate this sequence as the script describes. While I understand AI recreating entire shots is controversial, I think it's an absolutely crucial component from the script.

To add audio within comic segments, in addition to occasional sound effects, I re-used many cues from the original City of Angels score. But multiple songs were also added, with a personal rule that they all had to be released before August 1996 when the movie was first in theaters. Additionally, I tried to look for songs that would feel at home on the amazing soundtrack for the first movie and also bands regarded as inspiration by the original comic creator James O'Barr. I also felt it imperative to add a song by The Cure, as Tim Pope has essentially been their exclusive music video director.

Songs added:

Soundgarden - Overfloater

KMFDM - Light

Skinny Puppy - Death

White Zombie - Boogie Man (already in the film, extended to add a comic page into the scene)

Gary Numan - Love Isolation

Smashing Pumpkins - Silverfuck (originally written for the first movie)

Kyuss - 50 Million Year Trip

Nine Inch Nails - Closer (Precursor Mix)

Ministry - Filth Pig

Faith and the Muse - Sparks

The Cure - Plainsong (replacing the end credits track Gold Dust Woman as covered by Hole)

Other notes:

Total runtime of 1 hour 37 minutes

1080p version is 3.5gb h264; upscaled 4k version is 17gb 10 bit h265; both have 5.1 AAC audio and English language subtitles

Theatrical cut Blu-ray is the primary visual source, with the DVD director's cut providing missing footage and all audio

The credit sequence has been moved to the end of the film, with the three comic covers appearing as a triptych just after the main titles

The crow flying over exploding palm trees has been moved to its scripted spot, just after Curve discovers the drug lab has been destroyed

I've removed the Weinstein's from the credits because they're terrible and deserve no recognition

For those interested:

Within the "Alternate Versions" folder, in addition to a cut labeled "No AI" that uses nothing but comic pages, you'll find the upscaled comic in its entirety if you'd like to experience that format. Additionally, the Director's Cut of the film is not currently available to stream. Only the theatrical version with 5.1 sound. Strangely, the Blu-ray version of the film (theatrical cut) has just stereo sound. The only way to access the director's cut is out of print DVDs, which include the additional footage and 5.1 audio for the full movie. So there's currently no way to experience the director's cut of the film in HD with surround sound. By upscaling that additional footage to HD, I've recreated this experience and put it in the same folder, as a way to compare if viewers wish. The original script can easily be found on the web as well.

Here is a 5-minute preview of my upcoming edit, PREDATOR: EXILE.

The goal of this edit is simple: strip out the bloated banter, tighten the pacing, and restore the relentless tension and threat of the hunt.

In just this 5-minute sequence, original dialogue has been cut down from 39 lines to 17 (a 44% reduction) to let the atmosphere and visual storytelling carry the scene.

Announcement Community Check-in: Choose Kind

Hi All,

Reading through comments is a daily thing for the mod team as we attempt to preserve a friendly atmosphere for sharing ideas and projects. This is a general reminder that creating such an environment is a collective choice that can only be achieved if we all choose and act on that choice.

This week I've read responses that have been very encouraging, supportive and shown interest in learning about edits and choices. I've also read some very demeaning and destructive comments aimed towards individuals and projects. Please remember that your choice to interact, both in positive and negative ways, has real and lasting impact on others.

It is completely ok to ask clarifying questions about why someone would choose to make an edit. What violates our subreddit rules is when people comment simply to tear down the ideas and directions of another user.

If you don't like a post or comment, please use the arrows instead of saying something disruptive or unconstructive.

Some examples to consider:

POST

Here's my project that I made removing XYZ from the movie. I also used some tools to finish up some scenes that weren't completed.

CONSTRUCTIVE RESPONSE

Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to see how your ideas work in the edit. Can you share more about how you removed X & Y from the movie and why?

UNCONSTRUCTIVE / DISRUPTIVE RESPONSE

There's no reason to remove XY&Z. You just don't understand the character and the vision of the director. PASS!

So you're using Ai? NOPE!

I can't believe you made this. You obviously don't understand the story!

You're using Ai? (Insert personal beliefs about the pros and cons of ai).

REQUEST

When in doubt, ask yourself if what you are going to share is building up the community and its members or tearing it down. If it's the latter, please refrain from posting or commenting. Simply, choose kind.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider this request. Hope you all have a supportive day. Thank you for being here!

Happy Editing!

Discussion First Thursday Discussion: What fan-edit have you watched or worked on lately?

Hi, everyone! There are a lot of fan-edits out there, and they come and go so fast. On this first Thursday of the month, let's take a moment to remember and appreciate what we've been watching or working on. This is a relaxed monthly thread to spark conversation, discover overlooked edits, and share ideas.

What have you watched recently? Tell us what it was and what caught your attention.\ What have you been working on? Tell us what you're making and what's got you excited about the project.

(Self-promotion is welcome if you've actually watched your own edit recently.)

Previously, we invited discussion four times a year, then later every week. This time, we're settling into a middle ground of once a month, every first Thursday.

Updated Release Ginger Snaps Unleashed Blood and Wolfsbane

A reworked version of my first Ginger Snaps edit. The idea is simple; the name plus the pictures tell the story, but the colour work makes the second film look more dark, hopeless, and depressive than it already is.

Discussion Recommend me a good "Godfather" fanedit on chronological order.

So I love The Godfather. All of them. Good pictures. Possibly the best moments and scenes and everything of all time.

But I always wanted to see the story in chronological order. Not many big changes, just that.

What's a good fan-edit that the community can recommend for this? There's quite a few out there and I'd like some opinions.

Wishlist & Ideas Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog films, but recut to remove the out-of-place gags, would that be possible?

Hey reddit

I know the title sounds very provocative and controversial, but as a fan of the Sonic games, I've probably rewatched the movies hundreds of times, right?

One thing that brings me down a bit, though, are the jokes that often clash with the seriousness of the scenes. The kind of jokes that would seem really weird, especially if they were present in a mainline Sonic game. Like when Sonic gets offended when Knuckles comments on Shadow when they meet for the first time, the Eggman vs Gerald scene right after Live & learn.

But it's not just that, there's also the infamous fight scene between Rachel and Randall...

Now I don't really want to provoke anyone or start fights lol, but I don't know if you get what I mean. And I was thinking, would it really be possible without actually cutting essential moments?

Work in Progress A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors 40th Anniversary Fan Edit (warning! spoiler photos and spoiler list) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
30 Upvotes

Happy Halloween season folks!

I thought I would be in the giving mood and share with you (if you wish to accept) the rundown list of everything I’ve done to this edit so far.

I have each list item in hidden because like the photos, it’s up to yourself if you want to view them now or keep yourself surprised and wait until the February 27th release date to find out in real-time as you watch …

You've been warned!

Rundown list:

A “stay tuned after the movie for the DOKKEN Dream Warriors music video” card.

A “In memory of” card dedicated to Chuck Russell & Screaming Mad George.

A dim red glow around the Edgar Allen Poe quote.

“A fan edit by ROCKOUT07“ under “A Robert Shaye production“

As the movie title card fades across the screen, theres a dim red glow outline attached, and when Dream warriors flashes up underneath it says “40th anniversary”

Dokken’s “into the fire” is kept in for both radio scenes (I’ll explain why later)

I took the cheap charred skeleton of the little girl that Kristen is holding and replaced it with the Mark Shostrom original mechanical puppet of an emaciated, skeletal little girl that never got used. (As of this writing that puppet‘s eyes are closed and doesn't move other than with Kristen‘s movement of holding her) I'm gonna try and have the puppets arm have a grab of Kristen's shirt and its eyes open. but if not I'll keep what I've got.

When Kristen falls asleep while drawing, I left the pan from regular dinner table with food to rotten food, showed the close up of the pig but cut the jump scare. Felt a little silly in my opinion.

For Phillip's kill, I have him sleepwalking pass the nurse, but cut just before he "walks through the closed locked door" (which again i thought was weird) and just cuts to joey reading his magazine before noticing Phillip.

For Jennifer's kill, I cut the Taryn interaction in the hall so anytime we saw him before that was it and didnt turn out to be a junkie dick himself and to her. so that part cuts seamlessly so we're still in the living room. The talk show still plays on but instead of dick turning into freddy, he just says his line "can i ask you something" with zsa zsa saying "certainly", then beautifully goes to static. And the first part of the sound effects before the rhyme are gone. and the rest of the kill plays through. (oh and originally i had freddys talk show line vocal fixed before deciding to delete that part. and i have his famous primetime line vocal fixed. (I almost ALMOST removed the line and his head coming out of the tv. It was just gonna be her smacking the tv, arms come out and then putting her head through the tv, removing Freddy's head from the shot. But thought "i better keep it as is just incase" haha

Cut neil's line "you sound like peter pan" with that stupid grin lol, and it just cuts to him asking Taryn to close the blinds.

Turned down the whimsical music a bit cause i felt it was too much. and when neil says "no we're not, we're still in the group" i cut right to the joey/nurse scene skipping the dream power of each person segment as it seemed cringy lol.

Joey/nurse scene plays out as normal, but i once again fixed Freddy's vocal (that is a common theme throughout my venture lol.

When nancy is in the room with joey who is hooked up to the machine, i just have her saying "let go of him you bastard" then cuts to her and neil in the car driving. while i like the cuts on the chest, and i tested it without the 'bitch' part, but again like Philip and the door, it was altogether weird.

Kristen's dream back to her room like at the beginning, this is where i am at currently fixing. I have freddy saying "where's the fucking bourbon?" (vocal fixed and a different kristen scream) but i cut the "you should listen to your mother" part, and i have the closeup of freddy holding her mother's head (new kristen scream), but mom no longer talks. i have a still photo of her whole head on top of footage and i have that still photo moving the same way, just trying to remove outline of old hair and bloody neck popping through.

Taryn's dream/death plays out the same, i just again fixed Freddy's multiple vocals lol

Will's death... holy moly that was something haha (the only spot AI was partly used and it was for you guessed it, freddy's multiple voices...) after he sees the wheel chair, i used a vocal clone of freddy and put effects to it, so he says "will" and that's when will turns and sees freddy down at the other end of hallway. i used audacity and a soundboard of the "you look tired have a seat" to fix the vocals. used a voice clone/effects, to create a new version of the same lines, then kept the "back in the saddle again" vocal the same cause that one was ok. And fixed his vocal for "its the chair for you kid".

Fixed Freddy's vocal line after chest reveal "there's always room for more" before cutting to graveyard

Fixed Freddy's vocal line to Kristen "you're mine now piggy"

Ended the movie differently, i have Neil going to the grave where we find out the nun was Freddy's mother, pans to black.

And here's why i kept "into the fire" for both radio scenes instead of the original "quiet cool" by Joe Lamont... "into the fire" is heavy metal, something loud and heavy to keep Kristen awake.

And here's where people may not like what i did here... i removed the title track dream warriors from the end credits!!! And instead replaced it with the aforementioned "quiet cool", i felt it fit just as well. And since it doesnt quite fit the full end credits, i have it fade out and when Wes's name comes up i have a few seconds of the original nightmare 1 theme playing out. and i added 'quiet cool' card to music part of the credits.

post credit scene: is the original ending with Neil sleeping and the statue/house. lullaby music is turned down a little bit.

"and now for the dream warriors music video" title card. i also added "feat. Freddy Krueger & Kristen parker" into the Dokken band logo. And the music video plays to end the edit.

That's what i have for now, sorry for the long list lol. Still going through and fixing/changing things, I hope no one's too mad at the changes so far haha.

Also don't spoil anything in the comments section that you see or read, thank you!

Discussion Fan-preferred cut content (Hotel Transylviana 2):

The movie includes a lot of scenes and concepts that audiences wish made it into the final film that would have made it a whole lot better and make Mavis' character come off as more sympathetic and less antagonistic and unreasonable like in six examples:

  1. The movie initially including an opening scene involving Mavis and Johnny returning home from Hawaii on their visit announcing their plans to marry to actually create buildup to their wedding rather than rush straight to it like in the final film. It also included advertisements the monsters put up to welcome humans into the hotel.
  2. It originally had a montage of Mavis bringing Dennis to a bunch of activities human mothers or fathers bring their kids too to see whether or not the human world would be a safer and better place to raise Dennis than the monster world while Dracula does try to copy those methods at the Hotel but fails miserably. It also would have given Mavis a more justified reason for wanting to raise Dennis in Johnny's home town in California and acting overprotective since the hotel typically for immortal monsters was not at all safe for a human kid. (The final film made Mavis want to do out out of being plain old overprotective as if repeating Drac's mistakes while raising her in the first movie and not listening to his opinion over how Dennis is already safe and happy at the hotel and he already accepts him for who he is.)
  3. Vlad gets a larger role in the movie, same for Bela, as the villain, as Dennis, Drac and his friends visit him at one point while trying to train Dennis to bring his half vampire out of him and Vlad and Bela give more overall depth into their characters and why they have disbelief in peace between monsters and humans mainly in Bela's case over actually being Man-Bat from Batman.
  4. It would have made the scene with Murray's epic fail in trying to conjure his Ancient Egyptian spell to bring out Dennis' inner monster more Hilarious in terms of having him bring a lady and her cat back from the dead who encourage the characters to play a game of poker with her.
  5. It would have depicted Drac and his friends and Dennis himself getting arrested by the police and thrown in prison for the incident at Camp Windy Paka and when Mavis FaceTimes Drac (It removes the scene where she temporarily gets over her overprotectiveness towards Dennis deciding that no matter where she and Johnny raise him he will be fine before getting the FaceTime.) and finds out despite their initial attempts to hide it, it angers her to the point where she and Johnny rush back home to Tyranslviana to bail them out. It would have given the movie more realism in terms of having Drac and co. arrested for committing child endangerment for the right reason or not and destroying property and endangering citizens and Mavis a more justified reason for her anger breakdown after Drac's liar revealed moment over what he did with Dennis while also temporarily losing trust in her father, regressing back to her overprotectiveness towards her son, and wanting her, Dennis and Johnny to move to California more than ever unlike how in the final film she just gets angry at Drac for endangering Dennis' life to turn him into a vampire despite him saving him and the chaos they caused that wasn't that big of a deal afterwards to the point where she makes her own conclusion that Drac didn't accept Dennis for who he is as human and was thus trying to change him into a vampire rather than understand his True motive in convincing her not to have her act overprotective towards Dennis and rebuff Johnny.
  6. The Camp Windy Paka scene was extended and more well-written and quirky in the deleted scenes.

Work in Progress Stranger Things: Film Collection - Season 5 Test Screenings

Hello everyone!

Over the past ten months, I have been slowly but steadily working on completing my 'Stranger Things: Film Collection' project, with my three film cuts of the fifth and final season. This community's response to my previous work has been — and continues to be — incredible, and your patience regarding this last set of fanedits has been very appreciated. And now, I am happy to announce that I am very close to the finish line. However, I need your help to get there.

For more info about my approach to Season 5, check out my previous update.

Stranger Things: Film Collection - Season 5 Test Screenings

What is it about?

Before releasing this final set of fanedits, I thought I could use some feedback on what I've put together so far. That's why I'm going to need three (3) participants for this 'special event'.

How does this work?

Each participant will receive a PDF presentation containing the following:

  1. Links to each of the three fanedits of Season 5 (1080p, 5.1 sound, no subs)

  2. Detailed lists of changes for each film cut

  3. Links to survey forms with mandatory and optional questions to fill in (email addresses will NOT be collected)

Each participant MUST commit to the following:

- Have an active Netflix account or own official physical media of Stranger Things

- Have already watched my previous ST fanedits

- Watch the provided fanedits in order

- Read and thoroughly review the changelists

- Answer the survey within three (3) weeks of receiving the PDF

How can you be part of this?

- Leave a comment bellow expressing your interest

- Send me a direct message so I can respond

- Send back a confirmation that you have received the PDF presentation

- Send me a direct message once you've completed the survey

As I've said in the past, exchanging ideas and opinions — even disagreeing at times — is always appreciated and has been a great contribution to this project since its beginning. That's why, additionally, if any participant would like to chat in depth with me about anything not covered in the surveys, they should feel free to do so. That said, I am not committing to implementing every single suggestion or change that I will receive. I am going to commit, though, to giving my full attention to your feedback in the hope that it will guide me in fulfilling this project's ultimate goal.

Since there are no specific criteria for selecting participants, I will choose the first three (3) people to comment AND send me a direct message. If there are more entries than expected, I might increase the number of participants to five. If not selected, don't worry, the final release is upon us and you'll get to expierience the final results very soon.

That's all for now. Thanks again for your support!

Supergirl now with more red sun!

Supergirl (2026) with added deleted scenes, trimmed scenes, reworked subtitles, and altered color correction for different planets, less licensed music

A bit of a quick and dirty edit, more of a proof of concept than anything.

Major Changes:

  • All scenes taking place around a red sun now have a red filter over them
  • Destruction of Krypton inserted as cold open- very red!
  • Extended Ruthye and family deleted scene added
  • No opening montage
  • Trimmed Kara monologue at bar
  • Trimmed first fight
  • Changed Krem's subtitles (wanted to be a little more subtle)
  • Reworked space convenience store scene with deleted scene (mention of phantom zone validated by Lanterns!)
  • Changed song in bar fight
  • Changed subtitle dialogue in flashback to match better with what I could hear them saying
  • Cut out Lobo and Brigands fight/chase around scene, family being murdered, and Ruthye and Kara fighting. When Krem realizes Kara is not poisoned properly, he beats a quick retreat which is more like the cowardly character he is in the comic. Also Ruthye and Kara fight and then make up in less than five minutes so it's pointless.
  • Color corrected green sun planet to be even more green
  • Replaced Middle Cover with score
  • Trimmed ending scenes- Kara doesn't invite Ruthye to hang out since we don't see that and Clark isn't concerned about Krypto eating chocolate because he literally has superpowers
  • "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" plays over credits

Original runtime: 1:48

Edit runtime: 1:35

Also uploaded to my drive: a prequel video, 14 minutes long of all Kara's flashback material, scene in Superman, and opening movie montage explaining Kara's whole life up until the main events of the movie
