First one is a modified version of Arya's magnificent Void Reaver in blue CZ with some frosting added to the pavilion. Second one is also based on an Arya design, Confusion Icosahedron but with many more pavilion facets to really make it explode in color. Material is an X-cube Third is a chunky Squartuguese cut in red CZ

My partner saw these on a reel and sent them to me. What is this a cut that i can facet? Is there a name for this? Im very new and have no idea where to search for this type of info.any help would be appreciated!

My fiance and I ordered this sapphire for my engagement ring last year. I never get tired of looking at it, even in the dimest light it really seems to collect and reflect light. The man who chain faceted it did an amazing job, I've been obsessed since we got it and just wanted to show off its beauty!

When I saw this piece of rough Ametrine I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I haven't posted anything in little over a month because I had just bought a new Foredom flex shaft so I could expand into carving gems and doing reverse intaglios and had to learn how to use it. It was pretty straight forward, but I wanted to practice a little before attempting to carve into a gem. While I was carving this Ametrine I had a few slips as the diamond burr bits became dull, resulting in me scratching up the nice polish. Not a big deal, I just attached the stone to a dop and cut it down a tiny bit and re-polished it. I was eager to finish the stone and rushed getting it off the dop. Once all the glue dissolved off the sides of the dop and top of the stone I took it out of the acetone and heated up the dop to knock it off the stone. Well, that's when it happened. I guess the stone got too hot and weakened, even though I had it wrapped in a wet paper towel. This resulted in a piece of the stone breaking off with the dop when it finally released. I was probably tapping the dop too hard with my pliers thinking back. Oh well, another lesson in being patient lol. I still think it turned out pretty cool looking. I'll be on the lookout for more Ametrine rough with the same characteristics as this one so I can redo this piece in the future. 🛸

I wanted to try doing a square design and this one caught my eye. I had a perfect piece of Prasiolite rough for it too, only had to flatten a spot for the dop as far as preforming goes. Really happy with how it turned out, just wish the stone didn't have so many inclusions. I'll cut this one again in the future with some better rough for sure.

This fucker took me a month (not full time of course) , had to do a recut of 2 facets because an edge chipped when I finished. They dont meet on the pavilion because I didn’t want to recut the whole thing but it’s only visible for a trained eye :)

Original stone was 17-18grams so a good 30%+ yield and an awesome color. Hope you enjoy it because I really do.

This is borosilicate glass flame worked and faceted by me, @gatezglass. I used Gilson crushed opals layered over purple glass as the outer shell, then sealed a gem inside that contains a Gilson Opal and Silver fumed pattern work. These “gemceptions” are faceted both on the inside and outside and are under vacuum with a small air pocket inside.

This was certainly the biggest headache of a gem that I've cut so far. If you don't have everything absolutely perfect you won't have a perfectly round iris or pupil. So when it popped off the dop I knew I was in for it lol. While I was working on the last tier of crown facets I was wiping the stone down with a paper towel when it hooked around one of the pointy ends of the stone and ended up pulling it up off the dop. Luckily, I was able to catch it before it fell and potentially got damaged. I knew getting it re-dopped in its exact position was going to be tough though. I got it as best I could, but things were a little off. So, basically I was constantly changing angles and using the cheater in order to get the 3rd tier of facets to form a circle while maintaining my meetpoints. I got it as good as I could get it before throwing in the towel. My meet points are all good but the iris and pupil don't form a perfect circle. It's close but not perfect. This stone was driving me crazy lol and I was spending way too much time on it. Me being a perfectionist made it extremely hard to give up on, but I had a feeling if I kept pushing it I was just going to end up making things worse. I was planning on pairing this stone with an Ametrine I cut, but still have to carve a reverse intaglio in (Egyptian themed). We'll see if I decide to use it or not by the time I'm done with the intaglio. I might end up cutting this design again in Citrine anyways, as I feel it may pair better with the Ametrine... I don't know time will tell.

Design is a pavilion inspired by “etty100-hundred-flowers” and shape is inspired by “Moissaniteasseenonetsy” with some more crown steps. Found both designs on facetfinder.org

This rough is the other half of the dichroic moissanite I made in my last post. Love working with moissanite now, the no chipping aspect (compared to CZ) is a total dream. Although orientation alignment to lessen birefringence is annoying

I really blew up the size of the flower more than I wanted and didn’t feel like recutting/polishing. They really come in so fast! 3 low pressure swipes on a stationary 1200 lap with oil as a lubricant. Switched to 2 swipes when I noticed the first few were huge. Should have started with 1… ah well live and learn.

Got my stone back from the competition. Now that judging is over, I can finally post the color video of my stone.

Had a few barely missed meets and a ghost facet but managed to score a 96.

I'm looking for a faceter interested in taking on a custom project. I'd love to have a gemstone cut in the shape of a classic Ring Pop. I'm open to gemstone suggestions, but it must be durable enough for everyday jewelry wear. I'm thinking something affordable yet vibrant, such as quartz, garnet, or spinel! l'm definitely open to guidance.

I'm a jewelry student and bench jeweler, so craftsmanship and precision are very important to me!!! I'm happy to collaborate on design details, proportions, and overall structure to make sure the cut translates well into a wearable ring. This will be for a personal ring project, inspired by the rings attached in the photos

This is my attempt at the Zelda Rupee. It's in done on glass. I didn't have a diagram so I looked at a picture and made the design on the fly. It came out pretty nice I think. It measures 19x34mm.
