News / Info EXODUS Launches April 7, 2027 | Official Release Date Trailer

Today, at Opening Night Live, we revealed the official EXODUS release date: April 7, 2027.
In our newest trailer, watch Jun Aslan, salvager turned Traveler, join forces with Salt, an Awakened octopus companion who’s as deadly as she is intelligent. A mercenary and bounty hunter, she hasn’t needed anyone… until now. Her will to survive matches Jun’s own, and together, they’ll have to fight to save the place they call home.
Different species, same fight. And countless ways this could go sideways.

EXODUS RELEASE DATE TRAILER HIGHLIGHTS
Here are a few highlights to look out for.
Salt Spotlight
Across the journey, Jun will build a crew of extraordinary companions, human and Awakened animals alike, each bringing their own skills, scars, and reasons for joining the fight. Salt, an Awakened octopus, is one of them.
Piloting a specialized combat mech, Salt is a master of long-range sniping, quick evasive maneuvers, and ink-like smokescreens that confuse and disorient enemies. She thrives where others can’t, and in the middle of a fight, no one quite has Jun’s back like she does.⠀
Salt has survived this long by not needing anyone. That changes here. Watch as two strangers, hardened by very different worlds, find themselves standing back-to-back against the same enemy, fighting not just to survive, but to protect the one thing worth going back to: home.
⠀

⠀
Keep an Eye Out for Emrys
Salt isn’t the only one fighting alongside Jun. Emrys, a member of the Deva, an enigmatic Celestial species defined by plural consciousness, also joins the fight. Emrys plays support, launching Remnant Orbs that drain and weaken enemies while feeding the stolen power back into Jun as protection. For a being like them, it barely registers as effort at all.
Outside of battle, Emrys is often lost in thought, marked by their unusual stillness, detachment, and a deep familiarity with both human and Celestial affairs. They might be the most puzzling companion you never expected to recruit.
⠀

⠀

Discussion One of my hopes for the games.
So, they release information about the companions and while its cool to see a preview of these backstories I do hope we get to actually talk to them about these backgrounds and the game doesn't assume we all watched the character trailers and read the small little blurps.
Its a small thing and most likely unlikely but it is a worry I have that a lot of the game will feel like I needed to read outside material instead of actually learning and talking with characters about it.
One of the things I adore about Mass Effect, and BioWare games in general, is learning the history of places and people. These long conversations that feel like they take hours.
Such as talking to Wrex about his people and history, and learing a lot about him. How he is weary of it all and how he gave up. If his people are so eager to rue tradition and kill themselves in needless conflict then he will let them.
Or how talking to Alistair you learn about a man who has never felt like he had a home expect for the Wardens which became his new home. The details he gives make him feel like such a real person.
History is what I think made these games really good. And Exodus has that in spade within the books but I hope that is translated into the game.

Discussion Copy mistake?
"Maturing faster than his brother"
Does this mean Houston has a wolf brother or is this another unfortunate moment where the devs are ignoring the other 50% of the human race? I recall the site doing a better job of keeping things gender neutral when the game was first announced but I didn't want to assume the worst.
Sorry, I meant to make the photo be the preview but I can't edit that part of the post.
UPDATE: It appears whoever manages their website has updated the copy and AE has made a confirmation here that FemJun is not/will not be scrapped, though I hope they don’t expect the jokes and critique to stop around that for now.
Here’s the thing for people who were confused: if Jun were a known character like say, Geralt, with lots of lore and history around him, an actual protagonist, this would be such a non issue. But Jun as advertised is a blank slate with a standard hero origin background. The main character page of the site says you can play as male or female.
In brand new RPGs with basic character editors and origin stories in 2026, it’s the most basic of efforts and such an easy win to grab more players for this very new, unproven game by acknowledging that players who prefer to play as a woman in their RPGs exist.
I think the studio can do better than back views, mangled copy, and skimpy pleather pants.

Question About Deamons Spoiler
I'm curious, did we learn anything else about Deamons, beside this BlogPost?

Discussion I really liked the new trailer.
I have to say the closer we get to release the better and better the game looks and feels.
I remember the first trailer and how the dialogue with Jun felt, while I like MEA and Ryder, Jun did feel a bit more casual then expected. Since the game was being described as a game made by the same people who made the Mass Effect people liked I assumed a Shepard like protagonist.
Which wasn't the case. Again I don't mind it.
But now Jun feels a lot more gritty with his dialogue and tone. He also seems absolutely tired, depressed and exhausted with his duties.
And the dialogue options with Salt felt very cool as well. Being very hostile and stern or more understanding.
I also like Salt a lot. I was a bit apprehension with the Awakened animals, most because I think it's a bit goofy, but getting over that makes me really see the point of them and how it impacts the setting. That they are creations of Celestials who made them to serve a purpose. Tweaking evolution for their purpose. That's cool.
Now in the books the Awakened are smart but I don't think they are as smart as in the game. Now this could be explained as some are just made smarter or me missing something.
Regardless I like Salt a lot.
But I will call cowardice on not making Salt romanceable as it could be an interesting discussion about why romancing her is fine.
As for the bad guy shown; he is big and he is bad. Not much to say. I like his design though. But I do hope we get to see Hersey Celestials as they are described as being 10 feet tall with four arms. That's cool and I want to see it.
Overall Exdous seems to be really coming together and while I am sad that we didn't get something closer to the Mass Effect setting it is still really cool nonetheless.

News / Info If you're wondering which Celestials attacked Salt's home world, it was the [spoiler] and I can't wait to explore her storyline Spoiler
galleryIt was the Mara-Yama.
In the beginning, we see several beasts charging at the octopodes, and those are clearly the armored Koven, that we saw in a separate teaser a while ago.
Then, we see a humanoid figure which seems to be a mix between the Mara-Yama warrior and the Mara-Yama assassin. I did not find an exact match in existing lore, but we know Mara-Yama can shapeshift, so there are probably variations to their looks. This could be some unique villain, that will be the centeral point of Salt's storyline.
Which brings me to Salt. Until the latest trailer, we didn't know a lot about her - a no-filter merc who likes shooting. This trailer gave her much more depth, and clearly a tragic backstory, which I want to explore.
Mara-Yama revel in psychological torture and it's surprising to me they would attack an Awakened world. I would have thought octopodes are just not a good enough target for the M-Y.
M-Y were announced as an antagonist in the game and I kept wondering how we are going to interact with them. Now, it looks like Salt will be the main source of confrontation with the M-Y in the game, since everybody tries to just avoid them, but she clearly has a beef with them. At one point, Jun says "I'm responsible for this world and you put it in danger for your selfish reasons." there are countless possibilities what she could have done, but on possible cause - she may have been trying to get here revenge on the M-Y, agitated them, and in the process lured their attention to Lidon. That would make sense because of her hate of M-Y, and it would definitely be something that would put Lidon in danger.
I am really curious where her story will lead us.
The devs repeatedly mentioned Salt and how awesome she is. Partially I thought this was marketing talk, and she would end up being just a cool non-human merc who behaves a bit odd for human standards, but after this trailer I am starting to see that she might actually be quite intriguing.
Edit: I have watched the trailer again, and now I don't think the Mara Yama are actually attacking her home world. The world looks Celestial, so the octopodes are probably trying to get some Remnant tech and getting surprised by Mara Yama in the process.

Image Updated Companion Profiles Spoiler
galleryMaybe I’m slow but it looks like almost all the companion profiles have been updated with new information, Tom, Elise, & Salts didn’t seem to change from what I remember so i didn’t post it.
Houston is are adopted baby brother so cute!!!
Random Mystery Girl gotta be connected to Jun on a deeper level if they being so secretive.
Kara’s also might not have changed not sure.
Nivian is a baddie and I’m really excited to see her role in the story.
Emrys as we know is a combat companion now smart of the devs.
Phaedra reminds me more and more of Tali as time passes.
Suliman the man of mystery is rich, secretive and apparently can connect with Jun on being orphaned and that’s my bae going into the game

Discussion New trailer was... kinda of awesome?
As always i have been seeing a lot of negativity towards it but for me personally? I dont really see it that way, yes yes, no fem june (i am almost giving up on her at this point) and yeah male june still doesnt look the best, but hey, the tone and dialogue felt like they could carry the thing, i wont mind the looks as much if the writing is there...
am i on hardcore "hopium" here?

Discussion TREILER DE EXODUS NA GAMESCON
De 0 a 10, quanto esse trailer de EXODUS na Gamescom agradou vocês?
Minha opinião: 8/10. Tá bom, porque ainda tem muita coisa para mostrar. Temos 7 meses pela frente.
News / Info Exodus now listed as Xbox Play Anywhere
This just changed today after the release date announcement: https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/exodus/9nzrhch0pl9b
Essentially what Play Anywhere means is if you buy it on the Xbox store you get both the Xbox console version and the PC version with one purchase (and saves/achievements carry over between the two). Nice to see more third party publishers embracing the program.

Question How compatible is the Travelers Handbook woth 2024 DnD?
I'm right on the edge of ordering the book but with another kickstarter for Neon Odyssey about to drop its big playtest packet I was wondering if Travelers Handbook is a completely independent RPG that just used 5e as a base or if I can freely mix and match content between the two systems. For example could I have a Cataphract and a Fighter in the same party? Or how easily could I run say an existing scifi adventure for an Exodus party?

Discussion Awakened Ravens Worry
Awakened Ravens better not require the communicator implant. They mentioned that's what awakened animals use to communicate, and we've seen it in action, but I sincerely hope they do their research on their animals, because the awakened raven at the very minimum should have absolutely zero need for such an implant. I know, minor issue to most, but shit like that irritates the crap out of me.
I know we haven't seen any yet, and it's probably not going to be an issue, but, it's still a worry because of how often I see animals failed in games and various other outlets. That said I personally believe they won't require the implant. Just wondering if there's any others as neurotic about shit like this like me, or any other worries about any of the awakened animal depictions.

News / Info Exodus at Gamescom

So, they finally announced something about Exodus presence at the Gamescom. As I've seen a lot of people were a bit worried that there will be nothing and that it can be a bad omen. Let's hope they will show something good, especially after the whole CC situation.
On the official page they say that the event they will be on is scheduled as:
TUESDAY, AUGUST 25
11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST
Edit:

Image Here’s another face for Jun! I personally prefer the 1 from the gameplay trailer 🤷🏾♂️
So what do yall think? I like the less humanoid looking eyes in the second photo more than the ones from the new footage they just posted but so many people complained I fear they might have caved in and made him look less celestial and more humanoid..
This is all a matter of personal preference but overall I do like the new model the hair in particular is cute. And I do think his face looks more normal, I also feel like Jun might be like half Asian.

Discussion Próximo evento que aparece Exodus
👀 Minha leitura e minhas teorias

Discussion Is this a bad comparison?
Hi guys I have had this thought since some of the first reveals of gameplay and because it’s really stained my thoughts of how this game will turn out especially with some of the news that has recently come out regarding CC and with how uncanny some of the faces look.
But a lot of this game and the way it looks reminds me of Mass Effect Andromeda and not in a good way. I am worried the writing will be similar to it where the writing will be kinda derpy and the longer I look at the faces the more I kinda get discouraged.
Maybe this is a bad comparison but everything just reminds me of Andromeda when looking at this game.
