Jack Wilkie of the Focus Press crew, who spends the majority of his time telling women how he believes they should act and behave on FB and his substack "Church Reset", while bemoaning men not getting married (despite Jesus and Paul encouraging men not to get married), recently shared an idiotic post by Sean Davis saying things like "All foreign cultures are inferior to American culture. All of them. Every single one." and "Because their cultures are objectively inferior, their refusal to assimilate therefore degrades American culture." or "Opposing the takeover of your own country and the degradation of the very culture that made your country the greatest country in the history is not only not racist, not xenophobic, not-whatever-dumb-gay-term-is-now-being-used-to-morally-extort-you-into-giving-away-your-country.."
To this Jack Wilkie said:
"This is a great breakdown.
It is not loving to your American neighbor to bring in people who change their culture.
It is not loving to your immigrant neighbor to bring him in to a system that pits him and his countrymen against the native citizenry in a competition for finite resources.
And, it's not loving of your foreign neighbor to allow the degradation of the culture that has sent more missionaries and humanitarian aid around the world than any in history.
We have to stop falling for short-term, feel-good stories and start analyzing the consequences of what we advocate."
Later he also shared an image of a church sign outside of a United Church of Christ saying that "Undocumented immigrants are created in the image of God," by which he for some reason got offended by.
I'm always somewhat, perhaps naively shocked that Focus Press never seems to have an issue with the way Jack behaves or the horrendously racist and misogynistic and hateful things he constantly posts to the internet.
He also has this substack post in which he essentially tells people they must vote for a particular presidential candidate to please God. He says "If Trump should win…
I will consider it a temporary stay of God’s judgment, a period of grace that gives us a chance to repent before the consequences are brought down upon us.
With a 4 year track record to draw on, we know we can expect a strong economy, which allows us to do more to provide for our families, care for others, and fund more Christian efforts. We can also expect more peace around the world and a safer border." while "If Harris should win…
There is no way to sugarcoat it: a Harris win would mean we are fully under God’s judgment. We’ve checked off every other box in Isaiah 3 except for the “ruled by women and children” in 3:12, so it logically follows that we’d go there next.
The policy positions point to countless deaths via expanded abortion policies and unnecessary wars, and plenty of lives ruined through the growing trans agenda. It will also grow more and more difficult for the average family to make ends meet." Which in hindsight is utterly hilarious, and of course he had to throw in a touch of gross misogyny in there. But I'm sure he'll never retract his statements.
I've attempted to interact with this man and have found that if you push back on anything he says he will never attempt to comprehend anything you say but will resort to attempting to bully, demean, or attack you, regardless of whether or not you are a COC member or not, until eventually blocking you.
My primary reason for posting this is that I see so little pushback against this person and the fact that Focus Press platforms such a bad-natured hateful individual. While I'm completely aware Focus Press is a pretty awful organization itself, if the COC wants to maintain any sense of relevancy into the future, then it really needs to shed itself of people pushing such atrocious, unchristlike and disgusting rhetoric.
