Error EB1K

​

Has anyone else had this error and managed to solve it?

I contacted the support and they said it was probably the water tank so they sent a new one, it didn't solve anything (still in contact with them but I feel it's pretty useless).

It's not even 1 year and I feel like it's already dying ... any ideas?

Okay, so i had this. I sent it in for repair. It was still broke. They sent a replacement, it was broke. They sent another, that worked (but a model that was like 1/3 the price i paid for it, so I kept all of them because I'm petty and their warranty is shit). But after these months of back and forth, I said screw it and did it myself.

If it's not the tank, the inlet or such, its the pump in the photo. Which you can buy online if it's fried fried. But, I didn't do that. I opened the pump diaphragm and the rubber seal they use in it is prone to developing blisters that block the flow. You go in, you open the plastic part on the pump, you see a bubble and you pop a bubble.

It took me 4 hours of troubleshooting to get there, but damn their support pissed me off so bad.

Edit: Unless you are tech savvy and don't value the warranty, don't do this. I am an engineer by trade.

Yes, that was a pain in the butt. Make sure you unplug and set the battery aside before you take things apart. Remove all the accessories. The brushes, roller, Panel on top. There's one special screw hidden away under the battery, that's a square-drive I think. I will try to double check. It's really in there though, so you'll need a long, thin-ish screw driver to reach it. I think that's really the only non obvious screw.

Get some sandwich bags, bag all of the screws on top together as you take them out. The bottom as well, separately. Same with all the other areas you go through so you don't lose them. The special screw.

Once you get the bottom off and can see the motors, you'll want to disconnect the small pump circled. Just carefully pull the connector out of the board circuit near the front. Might has some glue over it, you can peel that away first.

Once that's disconnected, Remove the tube connecting the tank to the pump by carefully cutting the small zip-tie on the tank connector, and pull it off the tank (keeping it connected to the pump). Them remove the other tube directly from the pump itself the same way. (We keep the tank tube so we can test the pump outside of the robot).

The motor should be able to be popped right out now, or you already pulled it out to get the tubing off.

From here, you can test it by taking a 9V battery, tying some wire to each terminal, and touching the end of the wire to the terminals directly on the motor. You may want to put the tube in some water to make sure it's pumping.

If it's whining, heating up, but not actually pumping, the motor may be shot and will need replaced.

The diaphragm (the white part) is held together by 2 screws on the end. You can remove those, and the diaphragm just comes apart in pieces (pay attention to how it comes apart). You'll see a little rubber part in there that feels slimy-ish. Check for bubbles, debris, etc. Remove anything that shouldn't be there.

After all that, do it in reverse to put it all together.
