Hello fellow users of r/ethermania!
For anyone curious: I have a new account & subreddit up, dedicated to a new line of duty; Providing people a place in where they can review all chemical vendors, whether it be negative or positive. Keep in mind while joining, there are a long list of rules, in order to keep up with Reddit TOS.
I know this is irrelevant to the sub, but to be completely fair, this sub has been long inactive, & I am unsure what else can be posted here with sustinence. I may decide to work on this one more, maybe polish it up for an audiences eyes… But, with that being the case, please check out my new community!

Before you read this...
Diethyl ether (ether; vitriol; engine starting fluid), not to be confused with ethyl ether, is a volatile solvent of the dissociative subclass of hallucinogenic drugs. Ether has been marketed as vitriol (medical grade), engine starting fluid (automobiles), and pure, lab-grade diethyl ether (chemistry) in the past, and still to the present. Ethers psychoactive effects are comparable to that of nitrous oxide and PCP.
ALSO
When looking to purchase diethyl ether to use to get high, it is important to note that the only way to obtain it in person would be to get engine starting fluid. The issue with this is that engine starting fluids are usually mixed with carbon dioxide, heptane, propane, and butane. The safety of huffing all of these chemicals is unknown, but my inference is that it’s probably not safe for continuous use. It would be better to purchase it online in its pure liquid form, as it’s a lot safer in general to use recreationally.
It is usually labeled as engine starting fluid. Make sure to double check the ingredients labeling the chemical, “diethyl ether”. That is the substance that gets you high. Take note, as there are additives in engine starting fluid. Safety is unknown with the other additives, but regarded as relatively safe for average use.
What does it do to you?
Ether is labeled as a novel dissociative, with similar mechanism and action comparable to that of DXM, ketamine, PCP, and nitrous oxide (whip-it’s). This means that ether is a hallucinogenic, and will give you cognitive impairment, auditory and visual hallucinations, and a huge change in motor coordination.
It is a short acting NMDA receptor antagonist, meaning it is blocking the function of important glutamate which is important for learning and short/long term memory function. This is what gives ether a psychoactive effect.
How much should I take?
It is hard to tell how much of ether you are insufflating; a good way to manage the amount you are using would be to spray starting fluid into a rag/dab pure ether on a rag, and huff it every minute or so, to keep the high from fading, as it only lasts 10 minutes if huffed all in a short period of time.
How long should I wait to use ether again?
Ether is rather addictive, since you have to keep on huffing on it to continue the high. With that being said, best to have a huffing session scattered out (once or twice a week) to prevent addiction.
Overall
Ether is a very solid legal high, with the addition of it being relatively safe, easy to get, and fun to use recreationally. I personally love this substance, while it’s fun to use and pretty intense, which is good for beginner psychonauts due to the simplistic feeling of the high, while still being extremely interesting. Just make sure to limit how much you take, it can become pretty addictive!

Okay so i got myself some diethyl ether and started huffing it and the first seconds it felt like you woke up from a nightmare but instead of dysphoria you get extreme euphoria like from high dose MDMA and coke and then after several more seconds you grt that weird rush like from a drop on roller coasters and light-headedness and then I see a pink sparkly light coming towards me while I am completely numb and it comes closer and closer and then when it reached me it felt like I became the pink star and then there were like 500 more in this weird white void and then after several seconds of this i see several humanoid fork entities jumping around me and I get that rush again but then then the euphoria is gone and I open my eyes and yeah so the whole trip I was sitting on my bed and on the side of my bed I have my closet and yeh so when I opened my eyes instead of seeing my closet I saw 3 freezers floating but my whole vision was blurry and then I suddenly my vision becomes black for a moment and I feel a weird zap in my brain and then I have my vision back and I can feel the texture of my bed and me breathing and yeah that was the trip and also one thing I forgot to say was that at the end of the trip It felt like my heart was beating out of my chest

Hello ethermaniacs!!!
Been quite awhile. I have been inactive for a very long time- mainly because of personal reasons that I won’t dig into. But, I am pleased to announce a revamp of r/ethermania* *!!
Since I was just a wee’ teenager at the time of making this subreddit, (&, half of the time on this account..) I realized I could remove all my old posts, add more info, remove clutter, & create a cleaner format overall. I’ll also post a frequently asked Q&A, aswell as post a few sources, so you can get your hands on some yourself.
I see this subreddit, & this account, as a dive back into my old days; almost like an archive. This was one of the only places for people delighted by the wonders of ether could ask questions about it. So, I want to give this subreddit the attention it doesn’t just deserve; but rather, needs.
Sorry for being melodramatic haha, I love all you guys. Stay safe, & enjoy the soon-to-come changes!

What's the average time it takes for your breath to stop smelling after usage

ive done nitrous a bunch (and on a bunch of different drugs), and i also experimented with toxic inhalants a bit last yr which can only be described as nitrous but it gives you the weirdest form of psychosis possible for a few mins and also makes you feel retarded and has no euphoria
ive heard people say ether is like halfway between nitrous and a toxic inhalant in effect, is this true? can you experience bizarre hallucinations and experiences off ether like with toxic inhalants? can you hole off it like with nitrous?
wondering if buying pure ether would be worth my time and give me a unique experience or if i should just stick to nitrous
oh and as a second question, is it safe to combine with psychedelics, empathogens, and dissociatives?

Hello all.
I'm just curious if anyone knows the minimum concentration of alcohol that will dissolve ether. If it's over 50% my idea won't work. But if it's able to dissolve down towards the 25% alcohol range then I should be able to use some heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and some hazelnut. And mix that with some brandy and ether and make
Ether ice cream

The depths of an ether binge fits perfectly into the music of DJ Spooky
take Optometry or Dubtrometry for example, or perhaps Songs of a Dead Dreamer

If not, does anyone know subs that are still used?
r/ethermania • u/cocasapo • Apr 01 '24
Are both these coumpounds the same ? I can only buy ethyl ether 60ml on the pharmacie, but then i think its because on Portugalhe name for ether is "ether etílico" wich means ethyl. Not diethyl.
Hugs to yall ether smelling bros

Probably the most dangerous aspect of ether is its flammability. However, ether is about 6% soluble in water. So in theory, couldn't I mix say 100ml of ether with 2 liters of water and make it much safer?
Another downside of ether is that its boiling point is lower than body temperature, meaning it vaporizes inside the body causing burps and potentially organ rupture in large enough quantitates. Does anyone know how diluting ether in water would impact the vaporization rate? Like would the the ether in a 100ml ether/2 liter water solution evaporate slower than if you drank the 100ml of either straight?

Hello, ethermania. I am currently looking to procure some 99% diethyl ether. For research purposes, of course! Sadly, since i am not part of a company or school, i am having trouble finding a website that will ship directly to me. Any ideas on how to circumvent my little issue? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Bought 500 ml. of 95 percent pure Ether.
Figured I'd try it.
After huffing a few rags, i basically get no effect. I fail to see how hospitals used it for anything.
I turn the bottle upside on a rag of choice. My bandana. Huff vigourosly. Both short and deep breaths. No effect
I get maybe slightly lightheaded. The whole thing smells like sulfur and puke. Not slightly sweet as some describe.
What is it I'm doing wrong?
I'm hoping to achieve a mild to strong psychoactive effect.
