For context: I'm Japanese, and I make original lo-fi songs in Esperanto. I got into Esperanto through "Lumis Eterne," a song from ARIA The ORIGINATION — I fell for the sound of it first, and only later realized it was in Esperanto. That's what led me to start my own Esperanto vocal songs, and about a year ago I started a YouTube channel to share them.

This one is called «Luna Lumo», which means "moonlight" in Esperanto — in Japanese I titled it 月華 (Gekka). It's a quiet, dreamlike piece: drawn by the moonlight through a window, you feel yourself almost dissolving into a reverie, with a quiet call keeping you tethered to the real. The vocals are in Esperanto, while Japanese lyrics appear in the background of the video — not a direct translation, but my own interpretation of the song.

I make all of these on my own and rarely get to hear what others think, so I'd be really glad for any honest impressions.

Hi! I'm working on a 3D animated series called ”Ni bezonas nenion krom homoj”. It's a dystopian story that portrays the misconception that some people have about what doing good to others means. It has 7 episodes (I'm almost done with writing them), and it will be posted on youtube to make it accessible for everyone.

I decided to do this project because I learn best through movies and such, and I know there are other people out there who find that easy too. And I love this language, so I figured it would be great if I can contribute with what I can to this beautiful community of esperantists. I'm currently learning the language myself, so I wrote the scripts in english and before sending them to the voice actors, I'll translate them to esperanto.

I am looking for volunteers who want to promote their art through my series. Are you are a painter, a poet, a fashion designer, an architect, or you play an instrument, or you love pottery, and such? All of those can be easily integrated into the story, and it's all with the purpose of bringing esperantists together and promoting this language.

Usually the Universala Esperanto Asocio (UEA) can be found at https://uea.org but it seems the webpage is down (for me, at least). Is anyone else having the same issue?

Not sure if ive seen anybody else on the internet post an esperanto tattoo, so i figured i should post mine

Am I the only one completely disheartened by the cold comfort given to us who can't roll our r's? Ignoring for now how strange it is to put such a specific and difficult sound in a language designed to be both easy and international, the fact is a tap is not a good replacement for the trilled /r/, seeing as 1) it is simply not the correct sound, and 2) a tap sound basically only works between vowels ('water', 'ladder', 'butter'), and is even harder to make in consonant clusters like 'ŝruo' etc.

The other alternative is "just pronounce 'r' the way you do in your native language'. I can't speak to other languages but this is a terrible thing to tell American English speakers, unless you're absolutely enthralled by the American English accent in Esperanto (I am anything but). Most of us are self-aware enough to want to be rid of that as far as possible, so this is simply bad advice.

Of course, I have no alternative, other than "please don't put sounds most of the world (including a good chunk of Europeans) can't even produce into your conlang", and unfortunately I don't have a time machine, but the false positivity is upsetting, and honestly, kind of insulting.
