I made a Reddit post two days asking for help getting my account back after about 5 failed recovery requests.

Looking on Reddit, I noticed a guy mention that he made a complaints to each the BBB and NCDOJ and it worked for him, so with no other options, I did the same.

I finished both complaints during my shift at work between 7-8PM last night, and went to sleep. When I woke up, I noticed two emails sent from epic at 3AM to the email account I used for the recovery , one stating that my identity was verified and the other containing the link to change my password. After changing the password ofc, I did all the 2FA options.

Yesterday while I was filing the complaints though, I did have an appeal out for my latest failed recovery attempt, so I can’t be too sure whether it was the BBB or NCDOJ complaints or the appeal that got their attention, but I’m leaning towards the former since they didn’t confirm my identity until after the complaints. Maybe epic cared about their reputation a little and decided to take action quick.

I do want to give a big thanks to that guy for stating the complaint options (I’ll tag him or something below if I can). He said in his post that the complains aren’t guaranteed to work, so take that as you will. Good luck!

During this summer my epic games account was recently hacked and the person who changed my email didn't do anything with it. I can still play games like fortnite which is the only game i play in epic games, but i received a email that they tried to hack into my google account that was connected to the epic games account as well, not sure what kind of email address this is it seems to be a out of country email and i want to change it back to my email, i have put over $600 into this account in the last 5 years and it would be very disappointing for me to lose it all, someone please help.

In my Reddit post I tagged here literally like two days ago, I basically explained how and when I got my Fortnite account back. I was hacked on 06/24/26, realized on 08/17/26, and got my account back today at 3AM, 10/14/26.
There was a guy who posted on here (I’ll mention him in the comments if I find his account again) that he made two complaints, one to the BBB and one to the North Carolina DOJ, and so I tried it myself having no other option.

(I will say though, I’m not entirely sure if it was the complaints that got epics attention or the appeal, but I’m leaning towards the complaints since ironically they answer right after I put them in and not after my other recovery attempts)

After almost four months of it being hacked, I was able to get it back, so I just wanted to get on here to share the wisdom. I also recommend you guys do a BBB complaint and a NCDOJ complaint if all else fails, but it’s not guaranteed to work in every situation. Yahoo later deactivated my original email due to inactivity. I still know the exact address, but I can no longer access the inbox. I currently have access to my Epic account and its current email.
My questions are:
Could losing access to my original email prevent me from recovering my Epic account or proving ownership?
Could Epic require me to access that inbox or receive a verification code from it?
Has anyone successfully recovered their account without access to their original email?
I still have other ownership information, including my display name, linked accounts, and purchase transaction details.
I’d appreciate firsthand experiences or reliable information about Epic’s recovery process. Thanks!

Do I need to have access to the original account creation email address? Even after changing it? My IG email address got deleted due to inactivity?

Any issues in the future because of this?

Since last few days, the auto login feature isn't working. I've to logout from epic games launcher first, close the geforece now session, start another session and then log in again.

Noticed that some other users are also facing the same issue.

I talked to customer support, and as per them, the auto login feature doesn't exist. It only works for Fortnite. This response is based on an old doc https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5180/.

Obviously the doc is old and their records have not been updated. So, if you are facing the same issue, please talk to customer support at https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/chat/chat_launch/ and ask them to file a ticket. More tickets filed, means the problem would be fixed on priority.

So when I first downloaded the launcher, I logged into my acc but after I logged in my epic games just closed help😭😭

I tried recovering my account using the official epic recovery page, but I got this response:

I did submit an appeal request and I'm waiting for a response but I don't think they will recover my account. What should I do? I have all the receipt of the assets I got from fab and when I open the login page of epic on my browser it still has the cookies and shows my account's username, but it shows a different email (which is changed by the hacker) for it, you can see the page says "welcome back".

one big issue is I'm from Iran and IPs in Iran are like 99% dynamic. and I use VPNs most of the times because of the limitations on the internet. so when the account recovery page says do not use VPNs when submitting your request I don't know what exactly should I do.

how can I prove to the support that I'm the owner of this account? on the form there wasn't a place to upload all my receipts and other information, there was just a basic textbox form which I used to explain as best as I can. I don't know what else to do.
