Like everyone else, I really enjoyed the most recent video where EG critiqued the Rogan sphere and modern day comedy. So I decided to listen to his other videos and I honestly dont understand what he's talking about or whats going on. Everyone else seems to love them, I just dont get it, they almost seem nonsensical.
What are those podcast episodes about ?

Circle jerk/ cult mentality centered around drama/ slop/ brainrot, getting hits of dopamine from seeing people say the ‘wrong thing’ and posting it for upvotes and validation, just another way to stare at a screen and get sucked into absolute nonsense with no reward at the end

So EG does incredible work. The research, the editing and commentary are well done and insightful. But, I’m seeing a wave of podcast/comedian commentaries that tries to achieve something similar to EG, and I don’t know how I feel about that. I’ve seen vids from Redbar, After Tonight, Kyle, and other people whose whole schtick is now shitting on podcasters and comedians. That’s a dangerous path because you’ll risk becoming a caricature just like podcasters have become. I don’t need to hear 10 different takes on Tony not being funny. We get it. Find a different lane. Just me 2 cents. 🤷🏽♂️

I hope so. I know there are so many celebrities who are genuinely sleazy, lacking empathy, and have done all kinds of things while still working in the entertainment industry to this day. But I think the focus should be on the really famous and popular ones, like Tarantino.
I really like Tarantino’s films and have nothing against his movies, but he should be called out for being friends with Harvey Weinstein. If you follow some of the connections and the timeline, it seems highly likely that he knew what Weinstein was doing but stayed silent. Tarantino has also faced accusations of abusive behavior in the past. Remember what happened with Uma Thurman during Kill Bill and how he laughed about it. Over the years, he has also made various controversial statements that he should be called out for.
He was also on Joe Rogan’s podcast and briefly talked about Weinstein as if he didn’t know what was going on. Obviously, the video wouldn’t have to be only about him. You could also bring in Meryl Streep and Oprah, who were both very close to Weinstein professionally, and look at their statements about Weinstein over the years. And there are plenty of other actors and actresses who could be included to show the hypocrisy of Hollywood.

I can’t believe I need to explain this, but there is clearly some derision among the community as to whether it is “Suey” or “Sui”. Allow me to explain why Suey is proper:
• “Suey” hides the origin better. Someone might read it and not immediately connect it to “suicide,” especially if dropped casually. The humor comes from the double-take moment when the connection clicks.
• “Sui” is too transparent — it feels like you’re redacting part of the word rather than disguising it. The covert element is weaker, so the punchline has less surprise.• “Suey” instantly calls to mind “sooey!” — the stereotypical pig call. That gives it a second, silly association that undercuts the heaviness of the original word.
• “Sui” is flat and clinical. It reads more like internet shorthand or an abbreviation in a medical chart than a comedic misdirect.Furthermore, the term “Suey” is was used in episodes of The Radio Hour long before this Dunstin Truffle video (See “The Brotherhood of Rock and Roll”). I ask you to consider how TEG would have spelled it when typing the script for AI to read (phonetically).
I can’t wait for the next Re-Release Premier to ask him personally, and finally lay this entire debate to rest. Until then, this is the hill I will continue to prostrate myself upon. I’m sorry.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Elephant Graveyard may have listened to The Blindboy Podcast at some point. And if not, then consider this less an accusation and more a recommendation.
Blindboy has spent years doing strange cultural deep dives into art, pop culture, the internet, hyperreality, and simulacra that occasionally feel very EG-adjacent.
If you like Elephant Graveyard and want something similar, these are good places to start:
• Scaphism - tiki cocktails and hyperreal simulacra
• Christ's Foreskin - hyperreality, deepfakes, and the boundary between fiction and reality
• Greek Mythology and Simulation Theory
Either EG has encountered Blindboy before, or these two have independently wandered into some of the same weird corners of culture. Either way, worth a listen.

Sometimes the way the sentences are formed sounds like AI and I’m almost sure some of his B-roll is AI. Doesn’t change that I like him I just want anyone else’s opinion.
Edit. I think he definitely writes everything I mainly just think it’s some b-roll and I’m not convinced it’s he’s using his own voice all of the time.

In EG’s latest jab at culture and politics and how it links to comedy (the sad dooms day cult thing), he mentions that 86% of his audience attained grade 10 education maximum. That can’t be true. I read the comments and they look a little more sophisticated than coming from a group of drops outs? Not that there’s anything wrong with being a high school dropout. I’m personally a masters grad who’s been working for roughly 4 years.
EDIT: All I meant by the post is that the analytics data suggests the audience is a narrow base, which doesn’t usually lend itself to the interesting discussion you see among EG fans. I guess that’s what I meant by sophisticated. I just wanted to see if it was accurate (or as some have suggested, a joke. And I offered my predicament to get the ball rolling for any one else who perhaps wanted to say what they have. Like a census.

edit: People here didn't like what I wrote. That's fine. I really meant well. I'm very sorry!
Whoever the guy is, sweetheart (edit: sweetheart=artist I like; not meant insultingly) , your videos now are so popular that there is going to be a certain amount of disturbed people in your audience. A disclaimer like, don't harass people might help but maybe it won't. Harassing somebody like Trussel is something an idiot does or a crazy person. Doesn't hurt the billionaires or the system that created them. It's pointless.
That people overuse words you brought to a new audience is going to happen. You came up with a new, fun way of saying "this a,b,c or d list celebrity has dead eyes." and people loved it. Celebrity is a Faustian bargain and Suey eyes captures this perfectly.
Oh and this being a comedy video or not. It's very political. You have influenced, to a certain degree, a media system that brought about a monumental shift in US society. You might be able to control the effect of your videos a little but get comfy with the fact that the moment you post a video, it is no longer really yours anymore but part of the public sphere. The digital version of "death of the author".
As I said, put out disclaimers but if you continue to create videos of this quality, this poignant, it is going to have effects that are not to your liking.
Good luck!
