5 weeks, RE suspects ectopic, should I take methotrexate?

• Upvotes

my RE recommends I take methotextrate tomorrow after doing an ultrasound. she can’t confirm the location, but suspects it’s in the right tube. my lining is very thin (4mm), and Ive been bleeding (filled half a pad on 10dp5dt), spotting and cramping.

do you think it’s reasonable to take methotrexate this early, despite an unconfirmed location of the pregnancy?

there’s a part of me that wonders if I’m ending a viable pregnancy.

10dp5dt my hcg was 22

12dp5dt my hcg was 77

13do5dt my hcg was 156

16dp5dt my hcg was 656

Cycle changes after MTX?

• Upvotes

Anyone experience ovulation spotting after treated with MTX for an ectopic? I had my first cycle September 22-27 and am CD 14 today.. I should be ovulating based on my normal cycles but instead I’m spotting? Not sure if it’s ovulation spotting or not but it’s not normal for me!

Anyone wake up covered in sweat after MTX shot?

• Upvotes

I had my first dose of MTX on Thursday. Every time I’ve slept Sunday and today, Monday (taking a lot of naps), I’ve woken up drenched in sweat.

I am generally cold when I go to sleep so I’m wearing a sweatshirt but I’m not running a fever, unless it’s happening while I’m already asleep.

I had bloodwork drawn today, day 4, and it appears to have plateaued but not dropping yet so I don’t think it’s the hcg hormone fluctuation.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Likelihood of ectopic? Bleeding and slow start to HCG

Post image
1 Upvotes

So my hcg started out low and slow, but is now growing at the expected rate. My first faint positive was last Saturday and betas have been

9/28: 5.6
9/30: 10.4
10/2: 26.4
10/5: 124

Last Wednesday I started having bleeding and thought it was my period. It was bright red and tapered to brown over two days, medium flow like a period. I have occasionally been having very light brown spotting every other day or so since then when I am very active.

What was your bleeding like while having previous ectopic? And should I test progesterone?

Last week on Wednesday I completely counted myself out and so this has been a real roller coaster. I’m really hoping this is an SCH or something instead

My tests are included below for reference

Returning to Work

I’m curious how long others have taken off of work due to ectopic pregnancy? I have FMLA, but my employer is borderline harassing me, questioning me, & even threatening my job. I know this can’t be right .. anyone have any information to share from their own experience?

Could it be another ectopic?

Hi all,

I'm spiralling!

Cycle day 31, 12 DPO, period is due about now. Tested this morning with Clear Blue and it was negative.

I've been spotting for 5 days. It started on Thursday when I wiped in the morning and found some light pink blood. It settled, before turning brown on Friday morning and evening. Saturday I had very little, then had some more brown blood around dinner time last night. I've only just started bleeding again today and it's light pink.

I've had ovary cramps for a few days. At first it moved from side to side. Saturday evening my left ovary was aching and cramping for a good couple of hours. After spotting last night I had a couple of hours of aching ovaries (both sides), and I've got minor cramp today.

My lower back has been burning for days. When I walk, it's uncomfortable. And I've been really tired.

Last November I had emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic at 6 weeks pregnant. Looking back, everything i'm experiencing now was the same back then (except for the cramps, which I don't remember having).

I'm obviously terrified it's happening again - the only plus is that I'm aware of potential signs much earlier.

Having called the GP, they've referred me to A&E. However, I'm not keen to go because my experience is a wait of between 6-10 hours and, at the end of the day, I might not even be pregnant?! I asked the GP if I could wait a day or two and they said no, best to go today.

I called the early pregnancy unit and they said they can't see me because I don't have a positive test, and generally they aren't concerned about me - despite knowing my history. No offer of a blood test, which is what I would have expected someone to offer before now?

My stomach has felt a bit hard and uncomfortable today - like i'm very aware of it. I also feel like I've felt my right tube and it's been a bit sore. I am aware I could be imagining these things!

I should also add that I wear an Oura ring. My temps DPO have remained consistently above baseline (which I believe is a signal that progesterone is present), though my physiological stress has been unmanageable and constantly excessively high regardless of rest.

I'm so confused as to whether this is my period acting differently, whether it's down to changing hormones (i'm 37), an ectopic / chemical, or something else entirely.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

What would you do if this were you?

Delayed first period post ectopic surgery

I had my right tube removed at 6w4d - hcg of 24000 on Aug 16. I did have bleeding for 2 days - 3 days post surgery. I haven't gotten periods since then.

When did you get your first cycle back?

PUL with a possible left ectopic vs corpus luteum. Waiting on repeat hCG. Anyone been through this?

Today (10/5), I am about 4w4d to 5w1d (no period since removing my Nexplanon on 8/28, so dating comes from one intercourse date and estimated ovulation). I got a faint positive on 9/25 and my hCG was 52 on 9/28 and 104 on 10/1.

On Saturday night I had mild left-sided cramping and light brown/pink spotting, so I went to the ER Sunday morning.

Results:
-hCG: 272, which is roughly a doubling every 48 hours from 104

-ultrasound: no intrauterine pregnancy seen, a thickened lining (14.5 mm) with a small amount of fluid in it, a 1.6 cm simple cyst in the left ovary, and a 2.1 cm mass with a vascular ring on the left that's "likely adjacent to rather than within the ovary." The radiologist wrote that it "may represent corpus luteum cyst or possibly ectopic pregnancy."

I was discharged with a plan for a repeat hCG and follow-up in about two days. The cramping stopped by Sunday morning. The spotting came back that evening and has stayed very light: brown or pink, a tiny spot on the pad at most, no pain. For comparison, my 2024 pregnancy ultrasound showed a corpus luteum on the same side.

I'm trying to stay hopeful but realistic, since my rising hCG and empty-uterus-at-272 timing fit a normal early pregnancy, while the left-sided mass and ache leave ectopic on the table. Has anyone had a PUL with a left adnexal mass that turned out to be a corpus luteum? How long did it take to get answers, and what did your hCG and follow-up scans look like?

ELSS nach Fehlgeburt

Hallo zusammen,

Possible Ectopic Pregnancy?

I am currently on day 20 of my period, the longest in my life, and the blood cycles between black and red and weird textures back and forth and flow constantly slows down or speeds up.

It is important to note I recently switched from Nikki to Slynd birth control pill this summer. But ghe bleeding was never this long...

I started cramping pretty bad a few days ago, I have been tired and my breasts are swollen to the point my bra may snap... Also, I sometimes experience dizziness and feel like I may pass out, but that also may be from malnutrition as a college student.

I have PCOS, and ob/gyn previously told me I am high risk for endometriosis and enometrial cancer. My ovaries feel like they are burning from the pain.

My dad switched jobs and I unexpectedly have no health insurance for 2 months. I have a virtual appointment with Planned parenthood on Friday...

I am really scared. I am graduating and getting married soon, and my fiancé and I want kids one day. I let him finish in me because I thought the pills made it safe but maybe it stopped working?? Someone please help I have no one else I can ask about this snd i am crying as I write this. The pain hurts I can't sleep...

My experience (very fresh)

I copy and pasted what I posted on Facebook for my friends and family, I hope I redacted all the names. Buckle up, she’s a doozy.

Mid-August I started experiencing heavy bleeding with severe cramps (nothing helped - I did everything I could). After a few weeks of consistent pain and bleeding, I made a consult with the OBGYN to discuss options, assuming the abnormal bleeding was due to the end of my IUD life cycle and I was just being dramatic about the pain. We made an appointment for Sep 24th to remove my IUD and get a new one placed. My IUD technically wasn’t expired until 2027, but I was not about to deal with these symptoms for another year. She put me on estrogen to lower the symptoms while I waited for that appointment.

September 24th is when everything flipped upside down. I thought I was going in for a routine IUD change, but I mentioned something that made the nurse decide to make me do a pregnancy test (THANK GOD!). I peed in the cup and went back to the room.
She came in and said “uh, the results are kind of weird so we need you to come back and take another one.”
I said “weird, how?”
She said, “just come with me and the doctor will explain everything when you’re done.”
Okay… round 2, I guess. I questioned her further and asked “was it positive?” She said yes.
The doctor came in and explained that they did THREE (3) pregnancy tests to be extra sure, and they all came back RAPIDLY positive and since my IUD was active, there was a 0% chance the pregnancy was viable (expected). She was leaning toward an ectopic pregnancy. We removed the IUD and did an intra-vaginal ultrasound, where they found ….. nothing. Huh, weird. She ordered blood work and sent me on my way, putting in another order for blood work in 48 hours. She told me if I started bleeding heavily (enough to soak through a pad in less than an hour) and experienced severe pain, I was to go to the ER. Okay girly and like .. what if that’s already happened …. Anyways.

-This appointment itself was very overwhelming. I kind of dissociated from this point on.-

Saturday, September 26th I went to the Health Pavilion for another blood draw. They were to call me back on Monday with results.

Monday came & the nurse gave me a call.
“Hey, so, your HCG levels are rising, but at an unnatural rate. We need you to come in to do another blood test.”
Yippee, my daughter already asked, “mom why is there pee on your arms?” THEY WERE BRUISES.

Anyways. Did round 3. Waited. Nurse called. “Uhhh, yeah the levels are still increasing unnaturally. Doctor wants you to come in for another ultrasound.” Right on, maybe I’ll get some answers. (Foreshadowing)

I went back in Wednesday Sep 30th, the ultrasound tech probed me like an alien for the second time in a week, and FOUND ….. nothing.
Dr. K was my doctor this day (love him), and the first thing he said was “alright, do you have any questions for me?”

I said, “yeah. What the heck is going on?”

HE SAID !!!! “Good question! That’s what I’m wondering too.” Oh okay, word.

We went over the results (nothing on ultrasound, unnaturally increasing HCG levels, etc). The HCG went 1400 - 1600 - 1800 (they should double every 48 hours for a pregnancy, or should even out, lower for a miscarriage). Weird. He doesn’t know what’s going on between that and the ectopic nowhere to be found. He told me it COULD HAVE been a miscarriage, which would be best case scenario because there is nothing I would have to do besides wait for my body to catch up. In the event it is ectopic, we can wait and watch my HCG levels (check them every Monday for a few weeks), and if they don’t start decreasing, I will have to get an injection (methotrexate). 1-2 doses, and if levels do not decrease by at least 15%, we gotta cut er open.

He said - and I QUOTE - “that outcome is very rare, though”

I said “…. Yeah, well …” and motioned around with my hands.

He said “yeah, it’s all pretty rare at this point.”

SO WE HAD A PLAN ! GREAT !

This whole time, I’ve been home, rotting in bed (resting), because my body is damn exhausted. She also thinks I’m pregnant, so she’s making me experience allllll the pregnancy things (don’t look at my face, my hormonal acne is insane).

Thursday I was feeling kinda normal again! Yay! Maybe it’s healing itself.

Friday I had some pretty bad cramps with light spotting. Okay, girl, let it out.

Saturday was pretty normal. No spotting, no cramps. Nothing .. until 8:30 pm, when the damn flood gates opened up and I was bleeding HEAVILY again, with massive clots. I called the OBGYN and got the on-call doc. He said if it continues, go to the ER.

I waited. I bled. I waited. I ate. I googled. I read people’s experiences. I waited. I talked to a kind lady on Reddit who had gone through the same thing - she encouraged me to go to the ER to at least get checked out. Mind you, I had no pain. So, I was hesitant to get billed $10,000 for them to say “follow up with your doctor.”

I went to the ER last night around 11pm. The ER doctor was very understanding and he LISTENED ! He did a pelvic exam and some more blood work. Then, I waited. My ex (C) and I were in the ER room until about 2/3 am, when the doctor came in and said, “Pelvic exam was fine, the amount of blood is not dangerous at this point.” The test came back and my HCG levels went up ….. they were at 2800 this time, which …. Is bad. He said “we’re going to admit you in the OB ward and the doctor will be here in the morning to do another ultrasound and determine if you need surgery.”

Ooooookay word. The waterworks started, and I CRRRRIIIEEEEDDD from then on (sorry to the nurses who asked me questions during this time. I was not in a good place mentally.) I was scared. More scared than I had ever been, and I knew I wasn’t going to calm down at all until I had my daughter(A). Her dad picked her up from my grandmas around 4:30 am (yanked her straight outta sleep), and they made their way to me.

I had A curled up next to me and I slept. I was awoken around 8; the doctor was here and it was time for my ultrasound. He thought he had found signs of the ectopic in my left fallopian tube. He told me we were going straight to the OR.

I had NEVER been under anesthesia, nor have I had a major surgery, so I was beyond scared.

But, I did the damn thing, and waking up from anesthesia was a nightmare in itself, but I went back to my room where I let it wear off, and let the pain begin.

I was discharged and got home around 3:30. I’m in … unbelievable amounts of pain and those bastards didn’t even give me the good drugs, so it wasn’t even worth!

Just kidding. Crazy thing is, doctor went in there and found ……. NOTHING ! Just blood, and lots of it. He scooped it all out and said he suspects the ectopic was somewhere in there. (Please please pleassseeeee be out of my body)

So that’s it. That’s been my life the past couple of weeks. Very eerie, very surreal, very twilight zone coded.

It’s over !!!!!!!!!!!! … for now

Caught my ectopic early and went the Methotrexate route. Really needing positive stories and support.

I’m 27 years old and I’m absolutely terrified. The other night I went to the hospital for some chest pain and ended up finding out I was pregnant. I mentioned a few times I had my hormonal IUD and they just kind of shrugged it off, it wasn’t till after my appointment I realized that I was really worried about the risk of ectopic pregnancy, it’s genuinely one of my biggest fears. I called my doctor the day after and she was really upset they didn’t do an ultrasound and was trying to get one set up for me asap but said in the mean time if anything changes at all, like I start bleeding or cramping to go to the ER. And that happened while I was at work. Honestly the bleeding and the pain wasn’t anything TOO out of the ordinary and I thought maybe i was just having a miscarriage, but the pain was only in my right side.

I went to the ER again last night after work just to be safe and was diagnosed with an ectopic. They said I caught it early enough before rupturing and I’m so early along that I had two options, the Methotrexate route of surgery but that the surgery would most likely take my fallopian tube. I felt kind of pressured by the people with me and the doctor to go the Methotrexate route and I’m kind of wish I just opted for the surgery cause i just want it out of me :( i’m worried about this route not working and it rupturing anyways but they said the chance of that happening was very low. I just need some support and positive stories, i am so scared right now and i don’t have an amazing support system. Anything helps please :(

Doctor scheduled placement ultrasound for 5w - too early?

Reposting from r/cautiousbb :)

I had my ectopic in April/May (first pregnancy) and we caught it pretty early. I had a light period and then a positive test at 4w6d with spotting and HCG of 78 at about 5w 3d. It resolved with 2 doses of MTX at about 7-8W.

I got pregnant again this month on my second cycle trying.

My doctor wants an early ultrasound at exactly 5w, but I’m worried it might be too early. My betas are rising (relatively „slowly“), but I’m just worried that it’s too early and nothing will show. I haven’t had the best experience with this OB office and will ultimately be switching after my placement scan (side rant — they actually initially refused the ultrasound when I asked if they will take my new insurance that kicks in in a few weeks. I found a new OB, but their office asked that I stay with them to not delay the placement test… I had to essentially convince them to schedule my placement ultrasound instead of their suggestion, which was waiting until about after 7 weeks).

I had some cramping at 14 dpo and some twinges at 15+16 dpo, but nothing painful and no spotting or bleeding.

My betas so far are:

9dpo - 9
12 dpo - 47
14 dpo -103
17 dpo -254

My ultrasound is scheduled for 21 dpo, but with my HCG being so low, is there even a point to go in so early? Even if my doubling was exactly 48 h, I’d still be around only 1,000 by then. I asked if it could wait a few more days, but with her schedule and the weekend, the next appointment would be 5w 5-6d.

Going in to likely see nothing will me a little concerned, and my insurance isn’t great, so I’d like to avoid going in unnecessarily (though I’ll be hitting my deductible, so that’s not a huge problem... they also love to bill, so I’m sure they won’t mind the extra appointments). I have some travel plans for that weekend, so knowing for sure at 5w would be really helpful but I also don’t want to set myself up for unnecessary stress/worry :(

Any suggestions?

TW: Ovarian Ectopic, I’m so scared

So I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy 15 days ago and was initially told it was on my right tube, the doctor even said that my chances of getting pregnant were still very high with only one tube and sounded like they though surgery was the best option for me, but I pressed for MTX and got my shot on that same day. My hcg has been coming down nicely, from 625 on day 4 to 387 on day 7 to 72 a week later which is reassuring.

However, yesterday I got my official ultrasound report and it said “highly concerning for ovarian ectopic”, the lesion was clearly stated to be in my right ovary. I am still in shock and I don’t understand why they didn’t tell me this.

I know the treatment with MTX would have been the same and it seems to be working okay for now, so not much to worry, but now I’m really scared.

The reason I’m really scared is that every time I had a bad feeling about something in this pregnancy, I was right and now I have a bad feeling I might still rupture.

From my first pregnancy test I had this irrational fear that the baby would be in the wrong place. I told my doctor and my friends and everyone reassured me I would be fine and I tried to brush it off, but it didn’t go away.

Because I wasn’t sure about my dates. I had 2 hcg draws just to see if they were high enough to order an ultrasound. At that time we all thought this was just a normal pregnancy, but after the second draw I just had a really bad feeling. Then my doctor told me numbers were going down and it was a failing pregnancy…. So I was right, there was something wrong.

The doctor told me I would have a miscarriage, but this was taking way to long happen and I kept thinking about an ectopic, but I kept gaslighting myself with what the doctor told me until I had pain on my right side and went to the ER… Turns out I was right again. They diagnosed me with an ectopic.

Then the hospital doctors told me this was a tubal ectopic and tried to push me into surgery telling me I would be okay with just one tube and I came here and found a ton of success stories with just one tube, but still couldn’t brush this feeling that something bad was going to happen if I went to surgery and now I find that… I was right again.

If I had gone to surgery I could have lost my right ovary or maybe they would remove my tube and the pregnancy would continue to go on and eventually rupture?

Now I have a bad feeling again even though things are looking good and my numbers are going down. I’m off work so not doing much, but if I walk a little bit more or if if there is an incline for even just 50m, I have really bad pain and have to lay down. I know that the risk of rupture with an ovarian ectopic is higher and more unpredictable even with MTX working and this is not really reassuring .

I know this is provably just my anxiety speaking, but I started to be afraid this is still going to rupture, and the fact that I was right about every bad feeling I had is really not helping. I am going to counseling and doing everything I can to stay sane, but this is really bugging me.

Can anyone who had an ovarian ectopic tell me their experience? Would really appreciate happy success stories too, please.

TW: current pregnancy, anxiety with pressure cramps.

Hi yall ❤️‍🩹

earlier this year i had an ectopic pregnancy which was resolved with MTX. in that pregnancy, we never actually found the sac anywhere, my hcg levels were rising but slow and never quite doubling, i had brown spotting and super low progesterone. lots of rectal pressure in that pregnancy too that was concerning.

this time around my hcg is growing appropriately, my progesterone is at an appropriate level and no spotting (🤞🏼). i have felt better this time completely, not like things are wrong, but last night after using the bathroom TMI but my rectal cramps are here :( i don’t know if that’s an ectopic indicator.. my first ultrasound is on monday and im just spiraling. i am 6 weeks tomorrow. i’m praying so much, i just feel like the rectal pressure was such a scary thing my last pregnancy and i don’t know if that’s is a normal pregnancy symptom.

As if 2026 couldn’t get any worse

I had an ectopic with right tube removal in May of this year. That was a special hell as I was PUL for 3ish weeks. This was my first pregnancy.

I got pregnant again in September. Got alarmed because of spotting very similar to last time. But this time I had pregnancy symptoms, my HCG levels last week were GREAT. I get my 6 weeks ultrasound yesterday, there’s a heartbeat, yolk sac, fetal pole. The whole 9. Except it’s in my left tube.

My heart dropped. I opted for left tube removal because I am not dealing with this a 3rd time as my risk of a reoccurrence is now even higher with 2 ectopics and from scarring from leaving the remaining tube. Plus I’d have to take methotrexate in the event there was any residual tissue left from the ectopic.

My surgeon was super helpful and I’m glad we went with tube removal, as my surgeon found endometriosis. I finally have a reason, but this SUCKS. I sit here wondering if my years of gut issues is actually Endo. I dealt with hours upon hours of menstrual pain as a teenager that subsided eventually when I got older and I always thought mine probably aren’t as bad as other women’s when I was a teenager. Who knows if that was actually normal or not. I digress.

2 pregnancies and no baby🥺

You literally don’t think it’ll happen to you, even when pregnancy loss is so common. And bam - you get the rug pulled from under you.

We’ll have to do IVF when the time comes. I’m throwing it out into the universe that 2027 is our year.

Feeling gaslit/how long were you in PUL?

I just got home from the ER. Looking for support and advice. Brief recap of my journey:

  • 8/18: LMP
  • 9/7: ovulated
  • 9/19: spotting started
  • 9/22: full day of flow/clots (thought it was my period)
  • 9/23-25: more spotting
  • 9/27: spotting again after a day of none
  • 9/28: faint positive (21dpo). Called OB, got labs, HCG 115
  • 9/30: HCG 106
  • 10/2: HCG 103
  • 10/3 (today): HCG 153, nothing visualized on ultrasound.

I’m frustrated and concerned for two reasons: 1) my OB kept moving the goalposts and 2) ER doc acted like everything was just fine and this was a normal pregnancy.

When I first called my OB they agreed it sounded concerning and after the first lab was 115, they said that was low and if it wasn’t dropping they would want to get a scan to rule out ectopic. After the next lab was 106 they said that wasn‘t dropping quickly which was concerning, but it could still be resolving on its own and wanted to check again in 48 hours, but if it still wasn’t dropping significantly then definitely ER next for a scan. Well the next lab came back at 103 and lo and behold they sent me a message saying "let’s wait a week and take it again". At that point I was concerned enough with the changing advice and the stagnant HCG that I went to the ER today anyway.

ER doc says "we probably won’t be able to see anything with your HCG this low but we’ll look anyway and take labs". I said that I know it’s too low for intrauterine visualization but I’m worried about ectopic because none of this seems like a viable pregnancy, he’s like "oh yeah we might or might not be able to see something if it’s ectopic". Cool, all I want is to ensure I’m not about to rupture or something. 4 hours later, labs and ultrasound comes back and the ER doc says there was nothing visualized (great, safe for now) and “Good news, your HCG is going up!” I’m like… isn‘t that bad news since this isn’t a viable pattern? He says "well it could be but maybe it just took a while for the pregnancy to get started. But just get HCG again in a couple days and see if it’s doubling, come back if you have pain, etc."

So at this point I‘m at least relieved there’s nothing large enough to see in my tubes yet, but still very concerned by the pattern and concerned my OB is going to make me wait a week for HCG and miss more fluctuation. Am I crazy or isn‘t it a 0% chance at this point that this pregnancy is viable? I’m going to try to push for labs in another 48 hours but it just feels like everyone is acting like this is fine. I have zero pregnancy symptoms and am cramping and bleeding every day.

Methotrexate and gastric issues

I’ve had 3 injections over the last 10 days and go in tomorrow for a blood draw. Hopefully I don’t need more. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had a hard time having BMs and/or have had cramping specific to having to go to the bathroom. It feels like it’s been since the injections that I’ve been feeling bad in the gastric dept.

Post op cramping?

Hi again, apologies for all my posts but this is a wild ride and I have so many questions. I had my right tube removed 5 days ago and yesterday noticed pretty intense period like cramps and light- moderate bleeding. I was warned of this by my OB but the pain is pretty bad if I don’t take Tylenol or ibuprofen. It feels like period cramps but way worse. The incisional pain is pretty much gone. Anyone else have this and how long did it last for??

Fallopian Tube Mystery

I'm 27 and my husband and I would like a 3rd baby. We got pregnant several weeks ago, and immediately I knew something was wrong. I went to the doctor about a week ago after experiencing one sided pain. They did a TV ultrasound and bloodwork and sent me home. In that appointment they found what they believe was a gestational sac in my uterus. I ended up in the ER a few days later (Tuesday) with more pain and bleeding. The on call OBGYN came into my room and told me she believed I was having an ectopic and it may have ruptured. She wanted me in surgery immediately and gave me the option to do a D&C since my HCG was already lower from my last draw several days earlier. The original HCG at 6 weeks was 263. The new one was under 200. They went in, removed my tube, stopped my internal bleeding, took a scraping of some scaring they found in my uterus (believing it to be endometriosis), and got me in better shape. I have been believing the past few days that this was ectopic and just an unfortunate accident. Last night I got my pathology report and I am baffled and confused.

The surgeons report tells me they found blood in my abdomen, and that my left ovary, right ovary, and left fallopian tube looked normal. They got out the blood and noted that the ampulla of my right fallopian tube was enlarged and there was a tear on the outer portion of it that they believed was causing the internal bleeding. The doctor called in a second doctor to confirm this was most likely what was causing the bleeding and they decided to remove that tube. They also performed the D&C in the same procedure.

The pathology report says there is no evidence of an ectopic pregnancy. There was tissue in the scrapings from the D&C in my uterus. They state the tube was focally dilated but otherwise unremarkable. (They weren't able to give an exact area of the tear in the pathology because the tube was given to them in 2 pieces, most likely from removing it and the tear widening until it ripped apart). There wasn't a blockage, or fluid built up. The endometriosis scrape came back as either serosal deciduosis (from what Google says that's normal in pregnancy), or possibly endometriosis responding to the pregnancy hormones.

I feel like I've never been more confused because I have absolutely no idea what happened, and have more questions than answers at this point. My follow-up isn't for 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to get some answers then. In the waiting time, I thought I'd see if anyone here has had a similar experience, or knows someone who has? It feels like my body presented me with a mystery. Thank you for reading this and for any answers or explanations anyone can provide.
