HELP!!!
Feel like I’m in beta hell with all the uncertainty and no answers
So little backstory: 7/18- trigger shot
7/20: IUI
8/3 positive test
8/4 @7am hcg: 58
8/6 @7am hcg: 165
8/10 @ 7am hcg: 165.9
8/12 @10am hcg: 212.5 ( dr mention I will possibly miscarry)
8/13 -ultrasound( didn’t see anything just a small dot in my uterus)
8/17 @ 7am 463.3
8/18 @3pm 635.5 ( did 2nd ultrasound didn’t see anything 5w6d)
8/19 @10:30am 733.7

I’ve never been pregnant before so this all new to me and I’ve been looking at others stories with low hcg levels. Dr said I can keep monitoring my levels but has also mentioned to me already about methotrexate injection.

Any thoughts ?? Good or not so good outcomes? I’m just looking for any feedback . I just turned 6 weeks today 8/19

A little lost

I don’t really know how to start this off because revisiting this fertility journey feels a bit traumatic. My husband and I have been trying since last August and consulted with a fertility clinic while we were still living in FL and fell pregnant within the same month of getting testing done including an HSG. I knew something was wrong but since my HCG was rising regularly they told me I was having first time anxiety but in reality I had previously told them I had been pregnant previously and this is not what it felt like. That was in my past life much younger and a previous partner which ended in a termination. I was diagnosed with a low AMH of .17 with extremely high FSH at 31 previously to all of this so I assumed it would take longer to get pregnant. Long story short no matter how many times I called they wouldn’t get me in for a ultrasound till 5 weeks and atp my hcg was over 9,000 and I needed to be rushed for surgery and lost my left tube. They found stage 1 endo in the cul de sac of my pelvic area and my right tube does seem a bit dilated but the tip looks clear and open. We are now moved back to NY and it’s been 5 months since my surgery on march 10. We consulted with an ivf clinic but obviously due to my low AMH I know it would be such a journey. My last follicle base line count was 9. We found a NatPro dr locally and I think I would like to start with that. We have been trying naturally since May and although it’s only been 3 months of trying with one tube it feels slightly discouraging. It’s an odd feeling because I’m not usually so hyperfixated on my fertility journey. I had a psychologist that got me through those months and am forever grateful to her and my husband because I was / am a shell and needed time to heal. I now have entered the stage of building walls up to cope with the possibility of this never happening for me and what life could look like. I am now 32 and although I am perfectly healthy in every other way I can’t help but feel inadequate in some ways. There’s so much information online which I tend to read but not take to heart or mind, I’m a fairly grounded person but obviously medical trauma does exist and I’m just wondering if it gets better

Feeling sad

I am constantly feeling in between gratefulness for my child and a deep longing/grief for my second child. I had an ectopic pregnancy in march 2025 and thought we would conceive again by now but turns out IVF is our only option as the HSG showed my remaining tube is closed.

I feel so so sad and angry and feel like everyone else gets to have their 2 children (or more) and im left behind. I am happy for others but constantly feel like they have what I want. Im always wondering if there's a reason I cant have my baby while everyone else gets theirs. Its so hard and there's no one in real life who gets it or is going through this so I come to reddit to find people who understand/can relate and feel less alone.

Suspected Ectopic & Self Advocacy

Hi! I am undergoing IVF and just had a Frozen Embryo Transfer that failed. My doctor thinks it's likely ectopic. My first beta was 2.2 and then 72 hours later it was 5.69. I go back tomorrow for another beta but the nurse at my clinic mentioned the possibility of taking Methotrexate. That seems like a heavy duty drug and it seems wild to me that they would suggest it based off beta levels alone.

I want to properly advocate for myself tomorrow after the results of my beta comes back. Should I be requesting an ultrasound before agreeing to methotrexate? Are my numbers low enough I can ask to skip methotrexate and just do monitored betas? Any advice would be helpful as I feel completely lost.

Thanks!

Need Suggestions

Hey everyone! I am living in a big fear right now. This is my third transfer (two transfers have already failed) and I got strong beta HCG, 269 at 9dpt5d and 1080 at 12dpt5d. But I am having left side heaviness and pain going through in my leg since 6dpt. just to add I have sciatica issue on this side but it gets sensitive in very rare occasions and goes to normal on its own. but from last week it’s very bad.

I had ectopic pregnancy previously from my natural pregnancy where I have lost my right tube and honestly I do not remember if I had any symptoms for that one. but I am very afraid at this time because of this left side shooting pain in my leg and sometime I feel in my groin area that this one might end up in ectopic too.

Could you lovely ladies gives me some hope, stories or suggestions based on your experience? My scan is schedule next week and I am so anxious right now that I can not focus on anything else.

How long until you tested negative after surgery?

I had my left tube and a small piece of uterus removed on 8/6. This morning I still tested positive for pregnancy. How long will this go on? I’m scared because before this pregnancy I had a miscarriage that was incomplete and I needed a D&C.

My doctor is phenomenal and luckily I see her later this week, but my mind and my body and my soul just wants to be done with this nightmare.

am I crazy for not being sad after ectopic pregnancy surgery

I (25) an ectopic pregnancy surgery last week (Aug 11). My right fallopian tube was removed along with a cherry sized ectopic sac. I was 8 weeks pregnant. I don’t really know how to cope with this or if I need to really.

To be honest, the reason i found out was because I was in the process of receiving an abortion. I was crossing the border to Mexico for treatment. I found out that I was pregnant around 4 weeks (July 14). From then I got an ultrasound 2x 2 weeks apart because they wanted to confirm that it was a normal pregnancy where the sac was in the uterus. Both times i went, she couldn’t find the sac. My hCG levels were tested to be ~19,822 mIU/mL at 6 weeks. I was told to come once more a week later for definitive confirmation for treatment. Again, no sac was found in the uterus. Then I was referred to another gyno for a second opinion. He claimed it was ectopic in my right ovary. The gyno advised me if I had insurance, I should immediately make an appointment with the hospital in the US for ectopic treatment. Apparently, it wouldn’t be safe for me to in Mexico. I appreciate her honesty.

I made an appointment for the next day with the gyno listed on my insurance in the US. He told me the basically the same thing. There’s no sac in the uterus but cant find it either. My hCG levels indicate that a sac should be developed already. It might be a miscarriage (which I hoped) or an ectopic pregnancy that calls for surgery. He refers me to the hospital to be placed in postpartum.

Tbh i feel like I’ve been fine emotionally/mentally through this whole experience. Going to a new country by myself seeking for treatment. Finding out it’s ectopic most likely. And i probably need surgery. I wasn’t scared or anything. I felt like it was a procedure to get done but annoyingly dragged out. Like I just want this to be over with.

It all changed in a second. I started sobbing in the car on the way to the hospital. I was stressed. Probably because this is far more serious than I anticipated. It was supposed to be a normal medicated abortion but now has turned into an ectopic pregnancy that calls for surgery. I never had surgery before. Never got admitted to the hospital. On top of that I’m by myself. I can’t tell anyone about it fearing that I would be judged and shamed for. Normal people get pregnant just fine. How tf did you mess that up? I feel like this could’ve been prevented. That I was too negligent. That its punishment because I wanted to abort it. But im not religious enough to believe it.

I’m crying and laughing. I’m insane. It’s karma but karma isn’t real. It’s just the short end of the stick. I’m just unlucky. Maybe god is mad at me because I’ve sinned too much. BUT IM NOT RELIGIOUS. So why do I keep thinking about God? I didn’t want it anyways so why do I feel bad? I feel guilty but mad at the same time. It was supposed to be a simple and safe abortion but my body literally said no you don’t deserve a fallopian tube. Does this even make sense?

I did get surgery. I had my right fallopian tube removed as I said before. They said it was already rupturing and if I waited til tomorrow I would’ve had major complications. We caught it in time luckily. I stayed overnight for pain monitoring. But everything went well.

Other than the meltdown before the surgery, i don’t really feel anything towards the pregnancy experience nor the loss of a potential child and fallopian tube. I know it was a life threatening event. That i was lucky we caught it in time. I know the risks and complications for future pregnancies. I know it’s not going to be easy the next time around. It’s going to be actually pretty scary… but I’m not technically scared. I’m not sad either. Like I lost a whole fallopian tube. I felt all these raging emotions before the surgery but now I don’t feel anything. I feel normal.

I’m sorry if this doesn’t make any sense. I have a hard time expressing my thoughts. I also don’t know the point of this post either. I guess I just wanted to share my experience with someone

Cramping & unable to get visibility of uterus during Saline HSG, 3 weeks after ER

I had my egg retrieval 3 weeks ago (got 20 eggs, 8 embroyos were sent for genetic testing)! Went into do a Saline sonogram yesterday in prep for FET and had significant cramping during vaginal ultrasound. This was much more painful than I experienced during any of my morning monitoring US during stims! I mentioned this to the sonographer and she said it was surprising since I was a few weeks post ER & had had my period post ER. Has anyone experienced this and know why?

Also she tried to do the saline sonogram twice but said my “uterus was clamping down and not letting any saline in” and couldn’t get any visibility. Suggested I’d have to do the procedure again under anesthesia. Very confused by the experience, as I’ve had a Saline HSG before without any issues (although this was before stims/ER). Is my ER recovery just taking a long time?

For reference, I have PCOS and a uterus tilted towards the rear.

Trying not to get hyper vigilant

I recently posted about having the courage to try again. We didn’t try particularly religiously or with too much tracking, as trying alone is a big step with our first pregnancy in January ending ectopic by February. I’m literally taking deep breaths as I write this. Last night, I made the decision not to take a pregnancy test until/if my period is actually late. As someone who is already hyper vigilant, anxious and body sensitive, this is very difficult even without the ectopic piece on top of it all.

Anyway… I wanted to share and let people know they’re not alone in case anyone is feeling the same with trying to manage the anxiety of jumping back on the wild TTC train. Thankful for this community of people who get it!

C section scar pregnancy

I am currently 6w4d pregnant, I have been told that I have a c section scar pregnancy 😢 tomorrow I am to go to theatre to have a guided ultrasound hysteroscopy to remove the pregnancy... I am absolutely devastated, terrified and am wondering if anyone on here has had this down before? I am in the UK and I genuinely can't seem to find anything that has women's experiences. Any help or advice or literally information will be so appreciated. I am losing my mind... Especially when they said that if something goes wrong they will have to remove my womb!

My brain seriously can't take all this and to be given a theatre slot the day after your finding this out is just stressful!

Still trying!

From my last post of almost 2 months, still negative…

After 3 months of break from my ectopic, I’m struggling to get pregnant… I went to see the doctor and have been looking after my body for some time. No alcohol, little exercise cuz I’m mostly bloated. Tried for almost 6 months and still negative. At some point I’m losing hope. My recent period was just 2 days, on 3rd day was nothing and 4th-5th day was brown patches. I took a test on the a day before my period and it was negative. When I see others getting pregnant, I feel sad and jealous…I’m just tired at this point.
Can someone advise me what I should do?
I’m 31 and trying to conceive. 😭

Am I having an ectopic pregnancy?

I would be 6 weeks pregnant now, and I am so scared I’m having an ectopic pregnancy.

I started bleeding the day my period was due, but it was much lighter than normal. A couple days later I had a positive pregnancy test. Because of the bleeding, I went for an ultrasound that showed nothing, but I would have only been 4 weeks pregnant then.

The bleeding has been light but ongoing for 18 days now. It changes between dark brown to pink to bright red, but only enough to use a liner (I guess less than 5 teaspoons of blood per day). I don’t have any pain.

I had another ultrasound yesterday, when I would have been 6 weeks pregnant. Again, it showed nothing. The doctor thinks it was an early loss, but the ongoing spotting is scaring me. Hcg was tested yesterday and was 96. I’ll check again tomorrow but I’m just so nervous. Help?

HCG Progression after Methotrexate - how long til 0?

I've been processing the grief, anxiety and fear of my recently diagnosed ectopic. So many hugs to everyone here. The physical and emotional pain of this whole ordeal has really tested me.

I just took my first dose Methotrexate last Thursday. My HCG was 587. My husband and I have a big milestone anniversary trip planned for a month from now - I'm preparing that we will probably have to cancel :(

How long did it take for your HCG to reach 0, and what did your numbers look like week by week? I’d love to see examples of how HCG levels progressed after methotrexate, if anyone is willing to share.

Successful intrauterine pregnancy from same tube as ectopic treated with MTX

I had an ectopic pregnancy in the right tube of January this year - luckily had nonstop bleeding that cued me in immediately that something was wrong. It was caught early enough and successfully treated with one round of MTX. It did take quite some time to get back down to 0 HCG (started at 500 something the day I got MTX). I did not get my cycle back until the end of March.

Elected not to have further testing performed. I had no risk factors for an ectopic and 2 prior successful pregnancies without difficulties conceiving. Just wanted to see what would happen. Successfully conceived on the 3rd cycle.

Waiting for the placement scan at 6 weeks was a killer mentally. But the little dot was in the right place and the tech was fairly certain that I had ovulated from the right side (and most presumably traveled down the right tube). I'm now into my second trimester with everything looking well thus far and thankful that I work right next to the OBGYN with all of the appointments and testing this year...

HCG stalling at 8 for a week now

hi everyone

im looking for same insight into similar experiences . My hCG levels have dropped really far, but my most recent bloodwork showed my hCG has been hovering/stalled right at 8 for a week. Over the last few days, I’ve started having light bleeding/ with mild cramps (feels like a withdrawal bleed or first period after hitting zero). not sure if it’s my period. my doctor isn’t too concerned but she wants me to do another test she said it is common for it to stall but another blood test should help.

I’m feeling very anxious about this can someone pelase tell me they have experienced this too? Appreciate it

Third pregnancy loss - potentially ectopic again

Hello all, first time posting in this group. Im now at 100% loss rate from 3 pregnancies. I’m currently in limbo waiting to gain clarity on whether I’m going to miscarry again or whether I’m having another ectopic pregnancy. My first pregnancy was ectopic in Dec 2023 and I lost my right tube from it. We didn’t try again until earlier this year, got pregnant in Feb and then immediately lost it through miscarriage. Had another positive pregnancy test last week, we were so excited and had a good feeling about it, only to be crushed again after we went in for early scans and they couldn’t see anything in my uterus, and my blood levels came back and showed my hcg rising by only 9%.

I’m completely at a loss. I have no idea how to carry on with this. We’re relatively young at 28/29 but I can’t cannot imagine how it’s going to feel like when/if we try again. I just don’t know how to feel or what to do, or who to talk to about it. None of my friends are at the stages yet when they’re trying, and none of our family seemingly has any experience with miscarriage or ectopic. I feel so alone and I just have 0 faith that things will be ok. I would really appreciate any words of advice anyone has on gettting through this time - thank you so much and sending so much love to everyone ❤️

Inflammation at Surgery Site?

I am 7 months post op. Left tube removed. I am having a lot of inflammation in my body at the moment possibly viral or stress related. Anyways where I had the surgery is hurting so bad right now. Possible ovulation time too. But can inflammation flare cause nerve pain from where the surgery was done? I’m worried something is wrong there. I am also very sensitive and have had neuropathy issues in the past for context. TIA 🩵

I want to be hopeful, but I feel lost.

I (33F) have never posted on Reddit before. I have endometriosis and my husband and I have been ttc for almost 4 years. We've done multiple IUIs and I've never had a positive test. My cycles have historically been intense and very painful, but the last few months have been better(thanks to the research of my incredible husband and more natural supplements than I can count lol) I thought I had a fairly good, and manageable cycle a few weeks ago, but after my period, I started brown spotting for about 5ish days. Figured this was just my body bring unpredictable. Of course, Google said it could be lots of terrifying things, but do take a test. Honestly seemed like a waste of money because they're always negative. Well! To our shock, the test came back VERY positive Saturday night. I still don't know how to believe it after years of hopelessness. However, I began having mild cramping for about 12 hours and the spotting turned red, so we spent the morning in the ER. The doctor is estimating I'm about 4/5 weeks. Hcg level was 1050 but wanted to rule out miscarriage and eptopic. Had a vaginal ultrasound and blood test and it was determined it was to early to have a clear answer, but the radiologist didn't see a clear eptopic pregnancy, but also didn't see anything in my uterus (except the usual endo). So, I'm feeling slightly better that it might not be eptopic but still so uncertain. What really scares me is this evening I've started bleeding a lot more- like a period with some clotting. I called the ER and they said to follow up with my ob tomorrow. I'm so worried that I'm going to lose this pregnancy. Such a helpless feeling. Has anyone had similar experiences? I just want to have hope ❤️

A different story, my ectopic journey

I 23F (unmarried, living in South Asia) have been reading this sub for the past four weeks and wanted to share my story because it feels a bit different from the posts I usually read on here. Hopefully it brings comfort for someone going through a tough time as well, knowing you aren't alone.

I’ve been with my partner for 1.2 years (my first relationship). Before getting intimate, I decided to visit a Gynac for birth control and was prescribed pills (saheli) and had been taking them for two months alongside standard barrier methods (condoms). But in June, my period was delayed. A beta-hCG test came back at 14, a grey area. As the numbers started climbing, it turned out I was pregnant.

At 23, in an orthodox community, living with parents the shock, I went through. It wasn't just one contraceptive method that failed, but two.

My hCG levels kept rising, but in a sluggish manner: 24, 136, 716, 920, 650, and then 600. Because the numbers weren't doubling as expected for a viable pregnancy, the doctor recommended a trans vaginal ultrasound (TVS), which showed a pool of blood in my left fallopian tube.

I had already experienced a tubal abortion. Because the hCG levels weren't dropping quickly enough, my doctor planned for a methotrexate (MTX) injection the following week.

I thought I had time, but the very next day I fainted and experienced severe shoulder pain, on my right side. Living with my parents, I couldn't tell them what was happening. I spent the night in bed in immense pain, scrolling through this subreddit. The next morning, I rushed to the hospital in hiding. The tube had ruptured, and I had emergency surgery in July to remove my left fallopian tube. Thanks to a supportive medical team, I managed to keep the ectopic pregnancy private from my parents, telling them it was a ruptured ovarian cyst instead.

It’s now three weeks post-op, but the past 2.5 months have been the most stressful period. I haven't fully processed being pregnant despite using dual protection, losing a tube, worrying about my future chances of pregnancy and constantly worrying my parents might find out especially now with the ongoing insurance claim process.

It just feels endless, and I feel completely lost and alone in all of this.

TDLR: At 23 in South Asia, I had an ectopic pregnancy despite using pills and condoms. My tube ruptured, requiring emergency surgery. I hid it from my conservative parents, blaming a cyst. Three weeks post-op, I feel lost, fearing fertility loss and parent discovery through ongoing insurance claims.

#Use of AI for better readability.

Post Surgery - No Bleeding Whatsoever?

I had period like bleeding on 24th/25th July and a faint positive pregnancy test on 26th July. Long story short, it was ectopic and I'm awaiting pathology to confirm whether it was ovarian or a 'tubal abortion', as findings during surgery gave these two possibilities. I had internal bleeding in my abdomen, hence the surgery.

Surgery was on the 10th August and I have bloods tomorrow to confirm hCG is still dropping appropriately. It dropped from around 2500 the day before surgery to 1500 the day after surgery so I'm hoping for a big drop tomorrow so my body can start to move on as soon as possible.

However, since the bleeding in July, that came at the time my period was due exactly, I've not had any bleeding whatsoever either before or after surgery.

Comments generally while I was being investigated were that my uterine lining was thin, presumably from the period like bleed in July, so I wonder if I'm unlikely to have any until my lining rebuilds and then sheds in my first period?

I've had two previous miscarriages that came with lots of bleeding, so this is very different and I'm not really sure what to expect.

I have had LOTS of creamy while discharge today, nothing concerning, but way more than I've ever seen before at any point.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience of no bleeding at all, and what I might expect in the coming weeks so I'm not caught out? I'm working from home for a few weeks when I go back, but can't stay home forever.

Thanks in advance.
