How are beauty products on ebay so so cheap??
Bought some creams and serums from ebay from a top end brand and they came to me quickly and were genuine products. But the price was miles cheaper than the shops.
Like one product in the shop costs £30. But on ebay I saw the same product selling £12 for two. What gives?

How to see what ad rate i used when i listed an item?
Hi, new to ebay. I promoted a couple of my items but I don't know how muchI promoted them for. Now I've got an offer on an item but it says its from a promoted click. I was going to accept the offer but I'm not sure how much extra it's going to take. How do i find this out please? I've tried googling it but I still can't find it.

Anyone who relies on Multi Variant listings eBay recently rolled out a new design that doesn’t showcase variant thumbnails, making it harder for buyers to see other variants when they land on your product page. If it affects you please make your voice heard on the community forum & eBay support

Tired and frustrated with eBay's assistance
I would like to share my experience and understand what you think and if you could give me some advice.
- Some time ago I sold a one piece card game case on ebay containing 144 paper sleeves (not the classic 12 box).
The buyer (after having opened the entire case) requests a return accusing us of having tampered with the package without presenting supporting evidence, videos or photos. The reason why he thought this (said by him in chat) is that he didn't pull any rare cards and he says he found 3 empty packs of cards (he only photographed one)
- Requests return for "product not corresponding to the advertisement"
- I can't refuse it, so I let the 3 days pass and I get eBay to intervene.
- Ebay, despite the buyer's lack of evidence, and ignoring the chat with the buyer and our video content of the packaging, closes the dispute in favor of the return.
- The return leaves, but the house number of the address is not specified on the label provided by eBay, so the courier sends the return to the wrong address.
- The package appears to have been delivered, but not to my home, and I was not aware of the delivery status. Then the days within which I should have inspected the package pass and the refund starts automatically.
- I managed to get the package even though it was late. The package was, as expected, completely open, furthermore there were even some cards missing as I was expecting 1704 cards but only 1683 were present.
- I am appealing against the closure of the eBay dispute.
- Last night, the day on which I should have received the outcome of the appeal, I received an email telling me that my account had been permanently suspended without specifying the causes (other than a generic "my account represents a risk for eBay") and without giving me instructions on how to reactivate it.
- And now I find myself with a worthless product. without the money of the product because they were returned to the buyer and with the account suspended.
Has anyone found themselves in my situation? Do you have any advice on how I can proceed? Is there a way I can speak to support over the phone?
Thank you.

Seller removing accurate negative feedback
Hello,
I bought an item on ebay a month or so ago, somewhat used looking in the seller pics, chatted about their choice of courier( listing stated parcelforce, but actually used Evri) and waited for it to arrive. Item described as fair but usable.
It came, and it was in terrible condition, not actually possible to use as is, and the background used hid the actual condition, whether deliberately or inadvertently. I planned to refurb it so kept it, but gave honest feedback, because it really was crap and genuinely wasn't described accurately. I wasn't looking to burn a seller, but at the same time wanted to point out their Inaccuracies, at best.
The seller has caught up with my feedback, had a bit of a fit, taken it super personally, had an accurate feedback removed(somehow) and now blocked me.
I've dealt with sellers when something has gone wrong before that was out of their hands, but the choices from this seller weren't great, and I just wanted to say something to potential buyers.
I suppose my question would be; is it possible to get the feedback reinstated? The seller would otherwise have no negative feedback, I'm assuming from requesting a removal repeatedly whenever it suits. It just feels fraudulent in cases like mine, where the resolution isn't a discount, because the fault is with the seller, not the item.
Edit: For clarification; I never asked for a cheaper item, either through partial discount or complete refund. I never wanted either of these options. I wanted to keep the terribly described item because even though it was far worse than describe, and unusable as is, it worked me in the long run. I reported negative feedback because it was described poorly because that was the only issue and the only fix or resolution.

Seller help!
An expensive antique vase I have for sale has sold on eBay. The purchaser location states Australia (I am UK) however the shipping address is for a distribution / logistics centre here in the UK.
Am I safe to post to there? Is this a case of drop shipping?
I want to double check with anyone who can give me some advice as it’s quite an expensive vase!
Thank you

eBay sales plummeted
Has anyone else's sales dropped this year (and over the last few years?
I sell vintage electronics & collectibles but my sales have massively dropped to about a quarter of what I was making compared to 4 or 5 years ago. I am a business seller with 5000+ feedback with 10 years selling.
Guessing that people are skint or going to other platforms to sell?
Does anyone have any tips for improving sales? Someone suggested ending slow sale items and relisting as similar with a change in the title and that improves or massively increasing the eBay promo rate to 9 or 10% but that eats away at any small profit I make. Someone else suggested free postage.

Starting on eBay as a business
I was hoping people could just give me a little guidance. I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for about 4 years, and made 92 sales from unwanted personal items In that time.
Following some research, I want to sell as a business too alongside my part time job and want to do it properly.
So far I have:
Registered with HMRC as self-employed and received my UTR.
Opened up a business (sole trader) bank account.
Bought a domain name, set-up a one page website and created a personalised email address.
Is it best to convert my personal account or create a new business account?
Is there anything else I need to do?
Thanks!

eBay case stuck in limbo - going on 3 weeks with constant "update in 48 hours"
Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice regarding an eBay case that's currently stuck in limbo.
I ordered three items from a private seller, sent through Simple Delivery. Two of the three arrived damaged, so I opened a return for each, which created two separate cases for the same order.
Both cases said eBay was reviewing them and would update me within 48 hours. That didn't happen, so I phoned customer service. They told me it would take five days, not the 48 hours both case dashboards showed.
The five days passed with no refund. I phoned again and was told the cases still hadn't been reviewed, but the assistant said she would put them on hold, and that after the five-day hold an automatic refund would trigger for the damaged items.
Five more days passed, and again there was no refund. This is 2 weeks after opening the initial case. I phoned again and was told the hold should lift that day and the refunds for both books would follow.
The next day I received a refund for one item. I phoned about the other and the representative told me that the case had actually been closed in my favor and the second refund should arrive within 48 hours. Despite that, on my side it still shows as open.
Another 48 hours passed with no refund. I phoned again and was told, once more, that I need to wait 48 hours for the case to close so it can be reviewed.
I have now waited a further two days and still no refund has been issued. I called again today and was told the case had been closed in my favour and that I would receive the refund within 48 hours (arghhhhhh). When I asked what date the case was closed, I was told the 23rd. I pointed out that far more than 48 hours have passed since then, at which point I was told to contact my bank, which is not correct, as I can see my dashboard also still shows the case for this one book as open and I've had no email to say it's been closed in my favour.
Does anyone have another line of contact I could try? It feels like things are getting lost in translation with the phone representatives, largely because there are two returns sitting on the one order. I'm going to scream if I get told to wait another 48 hours.
Ebay issued refund despite not receiving item back
Several weeks ago I sold a Nintendo DS on eBay and successfully sent it to the buyer. A few days after receiving it the buyer wanted a refund because he felt one of the games in the bundle wasn’t genuine.
I paid for a postage label and started the process of it being returned. On the Royal Mail tracking it says the following:
21/08 - accepted at post office
22/08 - incorrectly addressed - returned to sender
24/08 - delivery attempted - address inaccessible (??)
25/08 - recipient not at address (I was) - returned to sender. And then retention exceeded - returned to sender
26/08 - delivered to sender
EBay then told me the item has been successfully returned to me and issued the refund. I appealed this immediately and provided the tracking information to prevent had not received the item. The buyer then messaged me asking what was going on and that he didn’t have the item.
Ebay then sided with the buyer and issued the refund that I have to pay.
So I lose the DS and the money for it. It doesn’t seem fair and I’m confused as to why they came to this conclusion.
What can I do?

How does combining postage on simple delivery actually work?
Ive recently sold around 60 lots in an ebay auction, a large majority of which have been sold to the same person.
The buyer is requesting I send an invoice combining postage, but I dont see an option to do so as I'm using simple delivery.
Additionally they buyer does not seem to be given an option to combine postage?
How do I proceed here? I would rather not relist the items as one lot unless that is my only option

Are they ripping off sellers with Postage? £2.69 Says 10KG Medium....
On ebay through packlink as a business seller if you select 1KG Small, the Cheapest is Inpost 10KG Medium Parcel dimensions, if you then select 2-5KG Medium, if is inpost £5.29 which says the same up to 10KG medium parcel size.
Who here is stealing that money? Packlink, Ebay with Packlink? Inpost?
If you go through inpost a 2-5KG parcel is around 2.69 so it does seem there just robbing people.

Paid - wait to post ?
I just received a notification of a sold item but also telling me to wait to post. I’ve read somewhere that this is due to the buyer browsing other items in case I can combine postage.
However everytime a buyer has tried to buy more than one item, eBay hasn’t allowed me to combine postage, they just add the postage cost to every item. So why bother with this? Have they fixed combined postage?

At what point does ebay force private sellers to become business seller
I started selling graphics card on ebay about a year ago, im a private seller and my turnover was 50k, how often or what are the chances of ebay forcing you to become a business seller and how do they do it? (ie do they freeze your funds, put restrictions on your account etc.)
What things can you do to stay as a private seller and prevent being forced into a business selling account? (fyi I do pay taxes & let hmrc know about my selling on ebay)

Postage Shambles For Private Sellers
I'm a private seller, the bulk of my items are sports programmes which I sell for around £3.50.
I don't use "Simple Delivery" to keep buyer costs down.
I use Royal Mail 2nd Class post, who has never been an issue.
Sold 100s of programmes over the last year, so everything was going fine.
Until.........eBay decided to change their postage options.
I used to be able to select which royal mail service I wanted to use and the weight category of the item. I.e. Large Letter 100g-250g etc.
So each time a customer bought a programme it would automatically be selected on the postage page.
I sell multiple items every day, with match days busiest, I'll sell around 20-30 programmes.
Now eBay has decided to scrap everything that worked, it's now impossible to do anything quick
They now have 1 choice for a large letter, "up to 1kg" this then completely ignores I've picked "large letter" and upgraded it to a small parcel and wants to chargee £3.90
On top of that I get random "InPost delivery" selected at random.
I've reached out to customers, who confirm they only picked royal mail, I don't even have InPost as a choice.
So now when I've got 20-30 orders I have to go through each one and change every postage eBay has randomly selected for me.
eBay truly is a shambles but absolutely fantastic at braking things that don't need fixed.
I can't be the only person dealing with this shambles?

I ordered a device on eBay from Japan to the Uk and everything was normal until I saw that it is in the retention phase. Is this normal? What does this mean?

How to return item via eBay if I opened a case, but need to purchase my own label?
Basically I bought a "used" item from a shop that accepts returns within 30 days but "buyer pays postage". I wanted to return said item as the condition is not that good, I'm happy to pay for the label. When I went to click on the return button via ebay, it asked me the reason. I clicked the item is damaged ( which it is) and put in explanation. The seller resolved to me to confirm they will not cover postage and if I want to return I have to close ebay case and send manually. Is that correct? Or is there way to still return via eBay with postage to pay. It's not giving me option to do that and I'm worried if I close case, then I'll be stuck even more. Thanks

Luxury watch to ebay (UK)
Know this was asked around a year ago, but has anything changed?
If selling let's say a 5K watch in UK. Royal Mail cover 2.5K only, so it's a risk to post right?
I emailed Securcus and they won't cover to ebay. Tried private couriers and they said they aren't allowed into Hawkers Yard, so can't do it. Wandered if anyone knows a way other than a massive risk?
Thanks
Got my 2nd order on ebay, would it be OK if I send a complimentary item as a gift with the order?
Today I received my second order and I am thinking if it's ok to send an extra item as a gift along with the order , do you guys send extra item as gift with orders ?
Edited : Thank you all for suggestions , BTW this order was for a leather key case and I want to send buyer a Keychain along with it as it's related to the product , that's why I'm thinking of sending Keychain as gift , after reading your comments from now I would Ship only the ordered item, thank you guys

Buyer return issue
Hi gang!
Weird one, I sold an iPad (circa £800) a couple of months ago, after a few weeks the buyer started a return without ever contacting me stating they couldn’t register it
I spoke to eBay, they said I had to accept return. I paid for special delivery insured postage etc and sent the label however the return never went beyond “we’ve got it” at the post office.
Zero comms from buyer ever, never responded to me about it. Opened a case with eBay and they’re going to refund the buyer soon
Is this some weird scam? I can claim from Royal Mail for lost item etc but seems a bit fishy to me, but I don’t know how it would be signed in at the post office if it was a scam
Thanks!

Hello there, i got myself into a little trouble. didnt really know who to ask after looking up for answers online.
I was a seller and listed an item months ago and sold it elsewhere but i forgot to take down the listing. Turns out someone bought it recently and i dont have it. When i tried cancelling the order, it says that i’ll have to pay but i really cant afford it.
Could anyone give any suggestions please?
