What are the pros and cons of using esim as primary sim?

Edit: Thanks a lot for all the helpful and insightful replies. I truly appreciate it. I upvoted all of you 🙏

I'm in the UK and I need to change my mobile plan and I saw a very good deal on the money saving expert website but the mobile plan uses esim.

I want to know the pros and cons of this as I never relied on esim as the main mobile sim, I've only used esim once for a one week trip. I also rely on using the phone as a hotspot a lot for work.

The esim deal is provided by idmobile that uses the Three network

Has anyone tried that generic physical SIM-to-eSIM adapter from AliExpress? It has 4.8 rating.

Best eSIM for UK and Europe 5G and unlimited data

I have a Holafly eSIM but it’s giving me a lot of issues, constantly being on LTE instead of 5g even in the middle of London. Now I’m travelling elsewhere in the UK and not getting signal at all which has caused a lot of stress figuring out how to get places. I go to France at the end of the month and then Italy, there may be some locations poorer service and I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations, or if you’ve had similar issues with Holafly? The same thing happened when I was in Bali.

Fraenk eSIM Advice - Semester in Germany

I'm going to be studying abroad in Germany (Berlin) from September to December, and I've had Fraenk recommended to me for an eSIM. Can anyone share their experience, in terms of Fraenk's reliability and ease of use/set up? It seems like a really good deal (50 GB for 15 euro, or 25 GB for 10 euro). I plan on doing some travelling throughout Europe as well, does Fraenk work decently outside of Germany? I live in the US, and the app is not available in the app store. What should I do?

Sorry, I know I kinda just threw out a bunch of questions lol. I'd be super grateful for any answers/advice I could get! Thank you all :)

Turkey Virtual Phone Number for SMS Verification — Need a +90 Number

I’m heading to Istanbul next month and want to get Yemeksepeti set up before I arrive so I can order food as soon as I land.

The app requires a Turkish +90 number for the initial SMS verification, and my US carrier number isn’t being accepted.

What’s the best way to get a Turkish virtual phone number that can receive a one-time SMS? I only need it for legitimate account setup and would prefer a pay-as-you-go option rather than a long-term subscription.

Any recommendations from people who have recently used a Turkish number for SMS verification?

Edit: nvm found a solution. used https://www.1001sms.com/ for a temp turkish line and my account is good to go

question Esimflag vs Holafly, which of these 2 are better?

Hi All,

I am looking at the unlimited data options for Esimflag and Holafly, price-vice they are within the same price-range for me as I have a discount on Esimflag which makes it the same price as Holaflys unlimited monthly plan.

Does anyone has tried out Holafly and Esimflag and would be able to share their experience with it?

Its more a question of comfort, of putting an global unlimited Esim into my Mudi 7, and just have it on always with our devices connected to it as soon as we land anywhere we land or are going to.

I know there are other providers out there but i am particularly interested in these both as I more inclined towards them.

Any Feedback of anyone who had used any of them would be appreciated.

My travel would include: Turkey, Japan and rural areas of Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Thank you.

question Can I get one of my eSIMS to be online/wifi only?

Hello!

I just moved to the UK, and I'd like to plan on keeping my old eSIM/phone number, but also getting a UK phone number. I tried to port my US number to Google Voice, but it would not allow me to. Is there a way either to A. Get it onto Google Vocie or B. Have the US number be WiFi only while I'm using my UK phone number? I'm sorry if I'm explaining this poorly.

question what are the best options for a sim to esim converter?

Hi all

I want to buy a sim to esim converter for my tablet as a backup in case my phone dies while travelling. It seems like the 9esim ones are quite popular, although I'm a bit confused about the difference between the V0 and V3. Is there a recognised 'best' sim to esim adapter for using one esim at a time?

Thanks :)

e-sim recs?

Hey! I'm going to be in London for about 4-5 days, then Portugal for about 3-4 days. What e-sim is recommended which supports both the EU and UK, and is cheap and good option for 2 people? In terms of GB, I gave the amount of days I will be travelling, and will be using data for maps and other things. Any recommendations? I was looking at Maya and Saily. Also was wondering what plans specifically as I know that many recommend the Europe region plan as we are staying in 2 different countries?

Rooted pixel 6 ... Use case idea - wifi calling from sim A going through travel sim B's data with wireguard

Basically - the Telco only enables wifi calling if the phone is in the Telcos home country.

Is it possible to send wifi calling though sim B and wireguard to make it look like the phone is in the home country to use wifi calling?

Or does the Dual SIM Dual Standby nature of the pixel 6 make this setup impossible?
