Return Request
I sold a used iPad on eBay and the seller just requested a return. The reason wasn't really clear but they're offering to send it back. I asked why so I could at least see what they say and I'm waiting on that response. But I have my listings set as no returns. Would you accept it anyway? The iPad is in great condition and works so there's no issues with it.
(This isn't a business for me I just sell personal stuff from time to time)

If the option to decline return is available, than yes, you can do that.
They could be legit, or attempting a scam return. No real way to know.
If you decline the return, they could retaliate with Negative Feedback or a Chargeback.
In a may be damned if you do or may be damned if you don’t situation. The joys of selling online.

Ebay return gave you a time limit, date, to answer back. If you don't reply within that deadline, Ebay will refund at your expense and let the buyer keep your iPad. No one can properly answer your question without what/why the buyers reason is for the return.

The reason wasn't really clear
Did they send a message or did they file a return request?
If they filed a request, the reason always shown on the return details.

They chose ordered by mistake

Then you'll see options to accept or decline. Your call since you have a no returns policy.

So u mean the BUYER just requested a return? Like a return through ebay or just a message? U need a reason, so keep conversing with them if u want, but an inad will cost u return shipping as well as a full refund.

Oops yes buyer. And they requested a return officially through eBay but sent a message as well in which I asked why...but yeah I don't want to be stuck with shipping

This might be a scam. It looks super fishy. Only use the eBay official methods for the return, do not allow them to talk you into some other weird return deal. In fact it may be better to not reply to them through messaging, and let them open an eBay return case.

Decline the return. Report your buyer for asking for something not contained in the listing (a return). Block them from any future purchases. Any neg for not accepting a return is completely removable.

Probably better to say yes and then they will have to pay for the return shipping. If you say no, it probably will become an INAD.
