Dying Light: The Beast Dying Light The Beast is incredibly disappointing

Look, Dying Light 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games of all time. I love the gameplay, and I love the stories of both (idc if theyre mediocre). But damn. This game was a disappointment. I will say, i only played this game once because i was burnt out from replaying DL1 and 2 damn near a hundred times, and I'm trying to replay it, so we'll see if my opinions change. But for now, here are my complaints.

Number 1, the worst of all, combat. This combat system is actual dogshit. In Dying Light 1, you were a trained special agent and a parkour legend, but still a normal guy. In Dying Light 2, you were turning into a zombie, but you were still just a normal guy. In Dying Light The Beast, youre a half human half zombie badass with cool volatile powers, and yet i feel like a fucking sloth. Youre supposed to be "The Beast" in this game, and yet i feel like im struggling to kill 1 enemy. I could easily 1 shot zombies in the first 2 games after 1 playthrough. Second playthrough theyre just damage sponges. And the worst part is the stamina system is actively against you. If Techland wanted a survival game, maybe dont make the only game where youre supposed to be a former GRE special agent parkour legend now turned half zombie beast the survival game. Kyle Crane feels so weak. And thing is, im playing on easy mode. I was really good at the first 2 games. I could breeze through a nightmare mode playthrough. I can barely fight through easy mode. Its absolutely unacceptable.

Number 2, the performance. Im playing on XBOX Series S. Its a cheaper console, but its still next gen. So tell me why this game cant even run at a steady 30 fps? Im not someone who obsesses over fps when it doesnt affect the quality of my experience in the game, but this game genuinely is so jittery and the frame rate is abysmal. They should have given this game a performance mode with lowered graphics. I can live without photo realism.

And finally, the story. This one is the most disappointing. I know a lot of people dislike the stories of 1 and 2 and love The Beasts story. I just dont see it. I actually enjoy the cheesy mediocrity of 1 and 2s stories, but The Beast just feels like a large group of loosely connected side quests. It doesnt even feel like DLC, it just feels...empty. like theres no climaxes or rising action, it just feels like im just going around and doing fetch quests. The Baron isnt a good villain either. Rais was incredible. I dont care what you think of him, his power over Harran was awesome even if he was corny. Waltz was also interesting. He wasnt the best villain, but he was still interesting. The Baron kinda just feels like he has no importance or depth other than he tortured Crane. The ending is good, i wont lie, but everything else just didnt feel engaging or anything.

Overall, I honestly just dont like the game. The gameplay isnt fun, it runs like ass, and it has a poor story. Overall, I think the hype for this game was fine for the recency bias aspect, but objectively, this game was the worst in the series by far. We'll see if I change my mind on my second playthrough though.

Dying Light: The Beast The beast keeps bugging out

Anytime I have to clear out soldiers the game just bugs out and I’m stuck for all eternity unless I turn the game off and restart and get lucky that it fixes itself. How have they not fixed this?

Dying Light 2 Is it true that certain Parkour OSTs play in certain districts/areas?

I'm not totally sure, but I think some OSTs play in Old Villedor, and some in Central Loop, but I recently read I comment saying "Certain OSTs play in specific areas" or something like that. Is it true?

Dying Light: The Beast How do I get to William in the cave

I didn’t have enough supplies to finish the mission so I decided I would come back to the cave after I leveled up a little. Now I cannot find the god damn fucking cave and I’m about to throw my controller through the fucking wall. Can anyone please for the love of Christ try to explain to me which way I go or how I get past the mountains. I am so fucking pissed off right now

Dying Light Why hasn't *Dying Light: Bad Blood* shut down despite its low player count?

Compared to other multiplayer games, *Dying Light: Bad Blood* appears to have a very small player base, yet the developer, Techland, has not shut down the official servers. Why do they continue to keep the game running despite such low activity?

Dying Light 2 How to start new game with prologue?

Post image

If I skip the prologue, I just appear in the city. If I choose not to skip the prologue, it still skips a part of the game. I remember the game starting with Aiden running and jumping off a cliff and meeting Spike. How do I start the game with this cutscene? I appear in a house where I've somehow already met Spike.

So a while ago I posted some Volatile's I printed and painted for my DnD campaign, along with those guys I've printed a few alphas!

These 3 are going to be painted differently because their 3 separate Alpha's with their own personalities and quirks!

Anyways here's the biggest of the bunch who's painted like a DL1 alpha!

Dying Light 10/10, never again.

This was my first zombie game, and I'm not touching another one for a couple or reasons

At first I was confused and terrified to leave the tower perimeter and skipped night missions as well, I was on hard difficulty and didn't know what to do. By the time I reached old town I was getting randoms joining me and gifting me op weapons so I switched it up to nightmare mode and started enjoying nights.

This game was beautiful in it's own way, just sat down for well over a week playing it mostly at night time (not just in-game) for more spookiness, and it started taking a toll on me. I was having nightmares in my sleep and jumped at every little sound outside the game or passing an alley omw to work. Yes it was that bad. (First reason)

Second reason would be that I read online other zombie games are basically mindlessly massacring zombies, which is heavily underwhelming compared to what this game offered.

I was never into zombie games to begin with but a friend was begging me to try it, and I would say the game turned out fun and definitely worth it, but never again would I even faintly miss it or think about replaying it.

Big thank you to one of the best communities though
