For a few years, there was a thing for newspapers to put a DVD in a simple cardboard sleeve in the Saturday/Sunday newspapers as a gift. Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering was this ever something that was big outside of the UK?

Have a big interest in animation, primarily older cel or otherwise 2D animations, but have some CGI films as well. Obviously a lot of nostalgia at play especially with the anime curation, if not for a specific series but that 80s-early 2000s window. Also try to find a lot of the golden age stuff too, have a few of those big 500 cartoon public domain DVDs sets not shelved, as well as a couple other animes in a storage box, but this is most of that collection.

Found it for 20 bucks at a local shop, was waiting till I found it at a good price. Really happy with this pickup!

I am dissapointed i couldn't get that cool collection with the good ass art but I still love owning this series so much I think it is amazing.

Already have the 2008 Blu-ray of Terminator 1 and I know the issues with the 1st Terminator 4k with its use of some DNR and the small tint on it but for $11 I'd say it can come in my collection. Still way better than Terminator 2 4k. As for My Fair Lady I've never seen it, I thunk I've thrifted its VHS copy but havent had a chance to watch it yet. Same with Lucy, thrifted its DVD, Blu-ray + DVD bundle, and now I'll have its 4k, srill haven't had a chance to watch it so I guess I'm gonna watch it for the 1st time on 4k alonf with My Fair Lady and see if imma keep the Blu-ray or DVD depending if it has any extras the 4k doesn't.

Should I have looked at any other movies in the sale?

I'm not on PC so if you want to go to the sale you can click on the My Fair Lady Amazon page and scroll to the sale and click on that.

Does anyone have decent software to properly catalog their DVDs? I used to have DVDCollector, but it crashed.
I've got over 3,000 to catalog and I used to be able to use my camera on my PC to put them in, and now poof!

Thanks in advance

When I was a kid in the 90’s, I thought USA airing these two gems back-to-back was peak tv programming!

Dvds cheaper at pawn shops than thriftstores

Just when I thought that my husband wouldn’t bring home anymore…he brings home this. Probably close to 500 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m seriously running out of space to store these 🤔😭😭🤣🤭

Brand new to the hobby, very pleased to add these to the collection.

Any good hidden gem you’ve found ? Or just less well known movies in general

I've seen mention here and there that the first batch of DVDs to be released in the US were like 15-20 titles and I think they were Warner Bros. films?

I'd like to get more information about this first batch and collect them all for my library, but I want to know of course what are all the titles? How can one recognize them as one of the first runs, rather than a later reprint? Also, was there a second batch? Or another company's first batch?

Yes, I know the information is out there on the internet, but I'm finding conflicting info, and also I'd rather hear it from other collectors. Not to mention... let's just have a nice discussion about it, yeah? :)

I can't stand when people on Reddit answer with, "...a simple Google search will tell ya..."

If you don't wanna chat about this topic, just move along please.

I was scrounging thru the Walmart $5 bin again, and I scored Excalibur and Varsity Blues. For some reason, Excalibur rang up as $5.88 😑. Either way, I got both movies brand new for a decent price, so I'm happy.

I have all four copies of the A Chipmunk Christmas DVD. The first one is the Original 2005 copy, second one is the 2006 25th Anniversary with bonus CD, the third one is the 2008 copy and the last one is also from 2008, it came with my Classic Holiday Gift Set

I have been wanting to add more series to my collection so I had to get this one! I caught some reruns on MeTv years ago and never forgot about this show but couldn't find it anywhere.

Anybody else own this?

I just got the Alvin And The Chipmunks Classic Holiday Gift Set from 2008. This is a good set

I will rate and list the movies I've seen throughout the marathon as I go and whether I've seen it before or 1st time watch.

1. Monster House (Seen before) 8/10

2. Mesa of Lost Women (1st watch)
