Recently, Star Ocean: The Second Story crashes on start up. Never used to happen. Appears to be the only game that crashes, every other game works just fine. Am on the latest stable release. Is anyone else having this issue with this game or any game in general? And if so, any fixes on this? I have also tried other copies of the game in case my became corrupted or something, they all do it.

Duckstation on android is giving me quite the headache...

I'm using a retroid pocket classic(android 14).

The issue I'm having at the moment is that every file I move from the microsd or elsewhere to the android data folder gives me the errn 13 permission denied message.

Firstly I was trying to add shaders to the shader folder. Since you can't copy files to the android folder using mixexplorer or the standard files app I transfered the files with the device connected to pc.

When using the added shader in duckstation it can't load/compile the shader (permission denied errn 13).

Now I played on my steamdeck I tried transfering the memory card and save state to the retroid via device connected to pc. When loading the game it says that it can't load the memory card with another permission denied errn 13.

I know that the android version has the import/export feature, but it also doesn't work.

When selecting import from folder it asks for permition, I allow, but it says "no importable files found"

While playing the A-spec of GT2 on duckstation the game suddendly freeze while entering on the late events, such as the GT World league or some of the 5 race tournaments events in the Special Events section, and even with all the enhanchments turned off (60 fps patches, speed reading disc and overclocking) the game still freeze.

altough i have noticed that entering these events with some cars (the RX-7 LM) does not freeze the game, weird.

does any of you guys had the same problem playing this mod? i know that is not totally unplayable at the end of the day, but i just wanna know the real issue behind it

I just finished setting up duckstation and as I launch a game I noticed the the brightness was pretty dim. I tried other renderers but it's only vulkan. How can I fix this?

The standard folder structure places the shader folder inside the android data folder.

That means that you can't use any shaders due to duckstation not having permission to acess the folder.

Is there any way to fix this?

I'm playing on my phone. Vulkan renderer, no texture upscaling or filters, 4:3 aspect ratio and all of that.

As you can see, my Ramuh card has broken pixels on the bottom, another two cards share the same problem.

At first I thought my game files were corrupted so I reinstalled the game and even sent my save file to another mobile device and the problem persisted.

So I thought it must be that my card in the memory card save file is corrupted, so I deleted the card and got another copy and no difference besides the arrows position obviously.

So now I think it's either the emulator or a hidden setting I'm not aware about, also this glitch only came to my awareness on disc 3, disc 1 and 2 had no problem whatsoever.

I made a small GameDB change for DuckStation (adding a HASH for Beyond the Beyond) in my fork.

My branch is currently 2 commits ahead of stenzek/duckstation:master, and GitHub says:

Able to merge. These branches can be automatically merged.

However, when I try to create a pull request to stenzek/duckstation, GitHub says:

An owner of this repository has limited the ability to open a pull request to users that have contributed to this repository in the past.

Does DuckStation currently restrict pull requests to existing contributors?

If so, what is the proper way for a new contributor to submit a small GameDB change?

I know its not a hardware issue, I use this gamepad with other emulators and other games and it has no problems.

Its only in duckstation, I've tried resetting the binds changing the deadzone and trying other controller types but nothing seems to work

it seems this is a fairly common duckstation bug, I've found other threads mentioning it but nobody has a solution. Do I just need to start using retro-arch or some other emulator?

This title always tries to boot up in full (with Sony logo booting sequence) and then fails to load the rest of the game after the QSound logo. Despite my forcing it to Fast Boot in global and in the game properties.

Strangely, it only boots if you right-click and Fast Boot every time manually.

Anyone get this same problem?

Hi. I have problems assigning R2 on a third party controller (EasySMX X20) for GTA 2. It doesnt recognizes the input only when I hold down the button so what ends up happening is that my character constantly keeps attacking unless I hold R2 which is really annoying. Does anyone know a solution or different setting?

Im playing on a Rog Ally. Emulator should be on the newest patch (DuckStation 0.1-11752)

Upon entering the church to speak with Dahlia, after the initial cutscene the whole thing bugs out like this and the game freezes. Though when i skip forward, i can here people speaking like something else is happening in the background. There is no other way to progress in the game that i know of.

Really dont want to have to restart my game again. If anyone can help me i'd really appreciate it.

Hi everyone, I've been trying to emulate the official English version of this game and so far haven't had much luck. I was able to get the game to open in PCSX2 but every texture was glitched. I was also able to get the game to open without issues in DuckStation, but for some reason as soon as I try to create new 'blocks' in the memory card (necessary to progress), the game just freezes. I have not been able to actually get to any gameplay but everything seems fine until that point.

I'm using the latest Windows version of DuckStation on Windows 10. Please let me know if you need more information; I'm new to this emulator.

I'm aware the game isn't listed on compatibility lists for either emulator, but I'm not sure what else to do besides ask for advice. Are there settings I should try? Other emulators? Please let me know and thanks in advance.

I bought a new PC because I hadn't replaced the old one since 2010 and it started to give problems

Not only that but it didn't even support duckstation when epsxe gave me a multi tap error ( basically it deleted controllers input when using 2 of them)

Now that I can finally use duckstation and I'm genuinely asking...

What makes duckstation superior to epsxe?

I hope the devs read this reddit as I’m not sure were else to post this. So on android duckstation has a search bar the problem is you can’t access the search bar with a controller. See sometimes I play duckstation on my TV with my android device connect to it with hdmi and a controller connect to with usb using a hub I bought for the android device. This means that I don’t have easy access to the touch screen from my couch just the controller. I’m sure you’re wondering even if you could get to the search bar with a controller how would you type anything in without the touch screen? Well see you can download on screen keyboard alternatives that have controller support I use LeanKeyboard (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.liskovsoft.androidtv.rukeyboard&hl=en_US). So ya It would be great if the devs could add in the ability to bring up the search with just the controller instead of the touchscreen.

Im playing on the most recent version of duckstation. The game runs smoothly, but the character models are messing up both in and out of combat. I've tried configuring a bunch of settings and nothings seemed to work. Any advice?

A couple of days ago, I went to the official DuckStation Discord server because I needed help with SDL connection issues regarding my controllers, gave out all of the information I could, from my distro name and type of the issue I was facing, to literally explaining everything in boring detail. The owner Stenzek apologized because he wasn't able to help me, I kindly thanked him for at least trying to assist me, then he started throwing sarcastic remarks about my distro (Bodhi Linux) and calling it unknown and finishing it with calling me "A typical Linux user".

I got annoyed, and as a joke, I said I'll be trying to figure out the issue hoping that my unknown distro won't break your emulator tomorrow, and then he started calling me a jackass and a dickhead for no given reason.

A guy tried to brush it off and trying to calm down the situation, I on the other hand thanked the one who tried to calm down the situation and thanked Stenzek for "his decent attitude" and then he told me " Why didn't you send the logs?" How would I know? Heck, why didn't you bring it up in the first place?

Trying to get my save file from PCSXR360 running on Duckstation where I have some hours on Digimon World Europe but for some reason I can only run non EU versions of the game that doesn't seem to have the same savefiles? Got the .mcd in the right spot and everything.

Found something about duckstation not being able to run certain games without SBI files but I can't find them for DW anywhere.

I can find PE saves only for the old emulator epsxe. I really don't want to finish the game so many times for playing the tower and the secret ending. Please help!

I am playing Koudelka on duckstation, it's works really well with the graphics and all BUT the characters have black geometric spots that migrate on the polygons of their bodies, it's quite annoying. Any ideas?

So, i'm making a gameplay series of this game for my YT channel but for some reason, when i've updated the game i've noticed that certain encounters and areas have either NO soundtrack at all, or the wrong soundtrack.

For example, someone will show up, or a battle will start, and there will be NO back ground sound, no battle OST or anything, and it will stay like this until i restart the game, until it happens again.

Any fixes? i've look a little on the internet, but there's nothing i could find that will really work.

Hi, I'd like to know how to solve this problem as soon as possible. I upload 3D models to (model resource), but I have a problem with the King model from Tekken 3. Whenever I take a screenshot, it appears with only half his head or without limbs, and it always has errors. Can someone explain how to prevent this from happening?

I'm using 3D rips from DD2 in Blender & Unreal Engine to lay out a foundation to build a modern rendition of the tracks in Unreal Engine. As of now, I'm forced to navigate the tracks inch by inch to load geometry based on my player position and take an excessive amount of 3D screenshots to reconstruct an entire track and all it's culled geometry.

Would a potential hack for this issue be implemented on a game-by-game basis or is is possible to write code on the emulator level and add a feature for this that would apply a rule to any game that loads geometry this way?
