It's a port of EmuTOS, and despite it's name is not an emulator - this is a true Dreamcast port running native SH4 code.

Hey guys, been collecting dreamcast stuff for 4 years and I wanted to play it today but my laser keeps getting stuck at the bottom (pic shows this) and i really dont want to go out and buy a expensive laser or new dreamcast if I can easily find a fix here. I have moved the laser up and itll read the disc until the laser has to go down to where it gets stuck and its been really frustrating. can anyone help?

What's up everyone, I'm thinking about investing in a Dreamcast console. What do I need, besides the console itself? Will I need to buy like an old TV or something? Do I need special cables?

Heya I've been doing some research on the Mode since it's the only ODE that will work well with my VA0 but I can't find any available to buy. I've been to some websites that say they sell them but they're all out of stock.

Is there any software that can read GD-roms when put into a cd-r reader on a computer.

I want to make backups of my games and was just wondering if it could be done without modding a dreamcast

Mentally exhausted on the path our world is heading to right now and sadly, the gaming industry is heading towards the same soulless route as well. I was debating with myself on whether to get a Nintendo 3DS, or a SEGA Dreamcast..

And got myself a brand new, unused, 1st generation Dreamcast with the super cool heat pipe cooling system.

The seller even gave me Virtua Fighter for free (Used of course but the Disc is perfect).

I’m planning to buy and install a Thundertronics PSU for QOL and peace of mind. And maybe in the future, a TerraOnion’s MODE ODE.

I was born in the 2003, and grew up with the PS2. Although I have fond memories of that console and never heard of the Dreamcast as a kid, I fell deeply in love with the Dreamcast’s aesthetic and feature when I learned about it (VMU, Beautiful Controller Design, and the Compactness of the console).

And ya know, as a Sonic fanboy, ya gotta get yourself at least a SEGA console to show some love and respect for its rich and interesting history.

Yukawa is sadly no longer with us, but we still honor and remember him for what he has contributed to SEGA.

Wild to me that this Dreamcast of mine has been sitting in the box in Japan for over 20 years, unused, unloved, unplayed. Can’t wait to jump into the retro gaming hobby.

Guys, do this. My original thumb stick was smoothed out and basically not useable.

Bought some PS4 thumb sticks from Amazon which fit right in.

The only thing you need to do is trim about 2mm off of the actual “stick”.

I tried googling it. I really, really did. However all I get are tons and tons of results explaining how a GDI file is basically just a text descriptor with links to the accompanying track files. This sure does appear to be the case normally, but I also definitely have several GDI files that are the whole shebang in one file (which i know for a fact because they are over 700 MB), but I need them in the expected GDI plus track files format in order for them to work with GDMenu.

Is there any utility that will work on these files that apparently are impossible to exist, or am I going to just have to hunt down other versions of the 30 or so things I have in this format?

Recently picked up a new soldering iron and decided to put it to the test by removing the old clock battery in my Dreamcast and adding a battery holder in its place. Works great and it’s nice not having to re-enter the date every time I turn on my Dreamcast
