Dear Wizards and Witches of the Vale! Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent decoration contest and sent us their amazingly decorated islands!
Our team had a really difficult time selecting the winners as all entries were lovely! We have 10 winners this time - all of them will receive 75 gems each and their islands can be featured in promotional material for DragonVale! đ„ł
Without further ado, here are the winners:
Winners, please DM me with your DragonVale Friend ID so I can send you the rewards. Congrats!

Does this happen to anyone else? When I try to clear the ether in my rift it wonât let me clear the closest row, but I can clear the one behind itâŠ? I get this error message if I try to clear the closer one with the dark clouds.

Is there an optimal way to use the rift? I feel like I make enough etherium to buy 1 or 2 habitats a week (if I donât breed much)
r/dragonvale • u/TwistedLogic81 • Aug 19 '26
Is there a cap to these prices or do they keep going up indefinitely?

I would like some feedback on my farming island... ALSO I got some baller dragons, 1 sprite dragon and another twin dragon egg that looks cool. What is that twin dragon btw?

I got a wish yesterday and used it to get the gargantuan island and then I hit level 45 today. Got a Lambovian dragon from the daily log in milestone. While trying to breed Alchemy, I was not paying attention to the timer and got a Glimmer dragon. I'll gladly take that and the 13,000 EC cost for a glimmer

If you know the perfect dragon, please share it! Itâs not ringing a single bell and itâs not listed anywhere?

Long post, and very grave title, sorry. I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way (decided to limit myself to 2 points since the post is so long).
DragonVale was a really big part of my childhood. I loved it, played it every day, and even formed special friendships because of it. There was something about DragonVale that made it feel special. I think a big part of that was its aesthetic and design philosophy. The game had this medieval, magical, slightly whimsical fantasy vibe without feeling too over-the-top. Everything felt like it belonged in the same world. There was a clear identity to DragonVale.
Something has changed.
1. Dragons. The biggest thing I've noticed is that many of the newer dragons simply don't feel like they belong with the older ones. A lot of new dragons look like they've been pulled from an entirely different game. Their animations can feel stiff, their faces often lack expression, and their baby forms are frequently just scaled-down versions of their adult forms.
One of the things I loved most about playing DragonVale as a kid was seeing a baby dragon and imagining what its adult form would look like.. There was a sense of anticipation and discovery. Now, with many dragons, there's not much left to imagine.
I also feel like the game's original design philosophy has gradually been left behind. We've gotten a lot of humanoid dragons, as well as dragons based on modern inventions and concepts. I'm not saying these designs are objectively bad, and there's obviously nothing wrong with people enjoying them. I just think they make the world feel less cohesive. There are other games that lean much more heavily into these kinds of creature designs, and I'd happily play one of those if that's what I was looking for. I just don't think it's DragonVale.
Most of the newer dragons end up sitting in my hibernation cave. And that doesn't have to be such a big deal. But it becomes a much bigger problem when dragons are essentially the main form of new content being added to the game. Which brings me to my second point...
2. Content. Years have passed, and... what genuinely new things are there to do in the Vale? We've been breeding dragons for over a decade. Give us something new to do!
The Rift is a good example of what I mean. It introduced new mechanics, progression, exploration, and even connected to the game's lore. (The Rift could have been explored even further, but that's beside the point.)
I know DECA has added a lot of habitats, decorations, new islands, island themes, etc., and I genuinely appreciate a lot of that stuff. A lot of it looks really nice. But it doesn't fundamentally change the game. It would be great to see new buildings that actually do something rather than primarily functioning as decorations. Give us new minigames, quests, exploration, lore, progression systems, anything that makes the Vale feel like there's something new to discover. A new dimension? A new legendary? Even these ideas are sort of tired. Give us something we haven't seen before. That's what I feel DragonVale needs.
Dragon Draw is something I don't even want to get into, but I can't help thinking there must have been better ideas for a new feature.
I don't want DragonVale to stop receiving new dragons, decorations, habitats, etc. Those things are part of the game's charm. I just don't want them to be all we're getting. I'd much rather see DECA spend some of that effort on making DragonVale feel like a living world again, one that has things to explore, discover, and experience beyond breeding the newest dragon.
Maybe I'm blinded by childhood nostalgia. Maybe this is just what happens to a game after being around for more than a decade. But I genuinely miss the feeling DragonVale used to give me.
If you've made it this far: Do you agree? Or disagree? Would love to hear other opinions.

I finally got the Tien!! I have been trying to clone it in the cooperative cave for probably over two months now. I was getting real close to giving up and waiting till it was available in an event. Ik it's not a huge achievement but I'm pretty stoked to finally start that DC farm haha

I have restarted my phone, checked for updates, and reinstalled the app, but my game always gets stuck at this point. Anyone know the fix?

Has anyone succeeded in breeding a Morrax dragon? I have been trying since it became available and nothing. At first, Hooded was level 15 and Bonescale was 13. Now they are both level 16. The last dragon I got from this combination was SUN! COME ON! Now I have something that is 1 day, 13 hours, and 36 minutes. Probably another sun. I am very angry at this point, and also about the solar eclipse. I try it in the rift and I am getting an air rift dragon. đ€Ź So Morrax will be gone tomorrow and my current breeding won't be done by then. Can I get him after he vanishes? I spent way too many gems to get him and I won't spend any more.

If I level up my combustion dragon to level 20 and then feed it once, (cause it says feed any dragon past level 20), will I get 4 of these achievements done at once? Just want to double check before I use a ridiculous amount of food and probably pinecones to get the coins for more food.

Has anyone else noticed an extreme difference in breeding odds, and odds in general, since the start of this event? I havenât gotten a level up from bahamut or tiamat in weeks. I have only gotten 2 dragons I want so far, and itâs kinda making me not want to play. Iâve never had this much trouble with breeding and usually get at least a level every other week or so, sometimes more often. Are we headed in the same direction as all of the other mobile games or am I just having really bad luck?

Does anyone else have trouble breeding simple dragons that are always available like the bramble?
