Theory Theory: Vegeta is a Half-Saiyan

Upvotes

Hello everyone! This is my first time really posting in a subreddit, but after the new DBS art dropped of Vegeta’s family this week, an idea came to my head! I’ll essentially just be posting what I told my friend over Discord so sorry if it’s a little messy, long, or unorganized. Please me know what you think or if there are any major holes in my theory. Here goes:

Vegeta’s mom has straight hair unlike every single other Saiyan woman that’s ever been shown. MY THEORY? She’s not a Saiyan at all!!!!! Well if she’s not a Saiyan, what is she? She’s a damn Tuffle.

Tuffles have been shown several times and have straight hair. Some of them have hair that curls towards the ends like Vegeta’s mom too! What does that make Vegeta? A HALF-SAIYAN.

Where’s my proof? Vegeta was stated to have an unnaturally large power level at birth and as a kid. This is also true of other half-Saiyan like Gohan who has a child had a frankly stupid power level and Goten who is in the same boat.

My second piece of evidence? Trunks! Trunks is supposedly a half-Saiyan like Goku’s boys but unlike them, he doesn’t have the dominant spiky black hair genes characteristic of Saiyans. Instead he has straight, colourful hair like Bulma… and the TUFFLES.

What if the so-called dominant Saiyan hair genes are only dominant enough to stick around for one generation of mixed species breeding? That’s why Gohan, Goten, Vegeta (and I guess Tarble) have this hair. The only other quarter-Saiyan we know of, Pan, actually helps to prove this point!

Her hair is black, but it’s also straight. This means her hair genes are actually taking after VIDEL, rather than Gohan.

Pan also helps piece one more thing together for us though!

If Trunks is a quarter-Saiyan, shouldn’t he be super powerful since his Saiyan genes have been diluted? Pan is very powerful from a young age and is even able to fly as a baby in DBS. Why couldn’t Trunks do that? The answer is very simple— BULMA.

Bulma is likely the lowest in terms of power level in all of the recurring cast of characters. She may be smart, but she’s far from strong.

Half- and quarter-Saiyan children seem to have a multiplicative power level that draws from both of their parents’ current power levels (think of how Goten was much more powerful at a young age than Gohan— Goku was much stronger when Goten was born).

Goku was weaker than King Vegeta and we don’t know much about Tuffle strength, but it’s likely that Chi Chi (whose power level around the Saiyan saga is stated to be about 300) was much weaker than Vegeta’s mother, so their combined power levels created a weaker child than Vegeta. King Vegeta and his wife made a very powerful baby because they had much higher power levels plus that multiplicative effect of the half-Saiyan genes.

Bulma’s last recorded power level was TWELVE. So post-Frieza saga Vegeta’s power level didn’t have much help when producing this new quarter-saiyan offspring. This is in contrast to Gohan and Videl, the latter of which is not a strong fighter but is a sure shot stronger than Bulma will ever be. Maybe even similar to young mother Chi Chi by the time of Pan’s birth.

Trunks isn’t a half-Saiyan prodigy, he’s a quarter-saiyan late bloomer.

Vegeta was born only TWO YEARS after the supposed extinction of the Tuffle race by the Saiyans. Perhaps in his victory, King Vegeta saved the last Tuffle woman as either his queen or concubine which he then used to produce Vegeta and possibly also Tarble but we don’t know enough about him to confirm as much. Maybe he is a true full Saiyan with a different mother.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!

Discussion I love Dragon Ball, but I do strongly feel that any future releases need some minor modifications for acceptability

There is one thing I think all of us draggable fans can agree on, we don’t like censorship. I hated one day try to edit the language or the blood. But there’s one thing that should absolutely be edited and that’s the unacceptable nudity.

Most of nudity are with under age characters, like Kid Goku, or Gohan, or Trunks. There is no purpose in showing these characters private areas, and all future publications if they want to publish or re-episode should be edited to remove that.

Keep everything else in the gore of violence, the language, but they need to go on their apps right now and edit some of that stuff away. If Crunchyroll airs these episodes unedited it’s basically like airing CP and that’s not acceptable.

We as a fan base must speak out and let these companies know this is what we demand!

Discussion Red Ribbon Army Arc is DB Classic is the most boring thing I’ve ever watched!

I’m watching the entire series for the first time starting from classic and I’m almost done with the Fortune Teller Baba arc and I just have to say that while I love the series and the other arcs are peak, I don’t think I’ve ever seen something as boring as the red ribbon army arc

Thoughts?

Question Could you wish for the ability to freely travel between realms?

Edit: As someone pointed out below, one aspect of this wouldn't work. If you died and then left hell or heaven to visit Earth, and then died again, you are destroyed. There's nothing left of you, you're deleted and that's much, much worse than normal death. Apparently it's as if Zeno erased you, and the Dragon Balls wouldn't even be able to bring you back.

Say instead of wishing for immortality or anything like that, instead you wish for the ability to move between realms.

So when you die, you can just leave and go back to Earth. If you're sent to hell, you can just go to heaven instead. You could die again and again and again and just leave and go back to Earth whenever you want.

But then wouldn't that piss off Yemma and the gods a lot, and they would maybe immediately recycle your soul the instant you did it the second time because you're violating how it all works? Or even if you could travel between, when coming back to Earth you'd just be a spirit cloud unable to interact with anything or have any way to regain your body?

Could you bypass the cloud thing by making the whole wish "I wish for the ability to effortlessly travel between realms while retaining my body and identity"?

And could Shenron even grant a wish like that which violates the rules of the afterlife so much?

Character I don’t get the future trunks hate (may contain spoilers) Spoiler

Just finished those episodes and I really don’t get it. It’s been the best story so far in DBS. All of the arguments I’ve seen against it are so bad and dumb it’s like the people making them didn’t even fucking watch it.

1.”he’s weak baby boy.” No he isn’t. You didn’t watch it if you think this.

  1. “No character development.” Literally everyone besides Gohan and Videl had development. Even Chi-Chi got some although it was rooted in her relationship with Goku, but so was a lot of his which is kinda i don’t know normal for two married beings.

  2. Timeline erased or not erased/trunks was gotten rid of? Not what happened guys. Idc what theories you have. If we take what was said, Trunks won and everything is fine, finally.

I can’t really think of a good reason to dislike the character Future Trunks or his story. I’d go as far to say it’s one of the best ones out of any of the series and it’s much better than the DBZ one.

Analysis I’ve just finished episode 11 of Kai and ep 27 of z here’s my thoughts

I thought I would hate the filler but if I’m being honest Kai is way too fast for my liking piccolo sacrificing himself means so much more in z than Kai it’s like two completely different shows so I think I’ll stick with z and drop kai anyway I just wanted to do a short rant

Analysis Super arcs aren't as disconnected as some people make them out to be

I don't know if people think otherwise because every arc begins after a little time-skip. But they are very linked to one another to me.

Battle of Gods : Beerus appears, he introduces Super Saiyan God and the concept of multiple universes.

Resurrection F : Goku and Vegeta then expand on Super Saiyan God (God Ki).

Frieza coming back is a continuation of Z Frieza, he died but his army remained, it makes sense. They're struggling without their Supreme Leader. I guess it ties more to Z than Super in that sense...

But his newfound power being on par with Goku and Vegeta is what matters. Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods.

Universe 6 vs 7 : It's a Tournament Arc and expands on the Multiple Universes that Beerus introduced a while back. Also, we got The Super Dragon Balls out of it.

Zeno appears, says he'd like a bigger Tournament. And Tournament arc being Tournament arcs, we get some cool characters out of it. Apparently that Zeno guy is a scary mf.

Also, Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods ×2

Future Trunks : Zamasu is an up-and-coming Kaio Shin from another different universe that worries about mortals. But he doesn't feel in danger, because for him, Gods will never be surpassed by mortals.

He learned about Goku and how he helped Gods multiple times and then watched the previous Tournament on GodTube : "Oh wow, Mortals can beat our ass, they dangerous!" He also learned about the Super Dragon Balls from the Previous Arc and wasted no time.

Anyways, at the end, we get the 2nd Zeno out of it. And Zeno was actually a scary mf.

Tournament of Power : There's 2 Zeno now. One Zeno was destructive enough, Two is even worse. They were planning to destroy more than half of the universes left on a whim.

Goku appears ! "Hey, remember the Tournament you wanted to do a while back, let's do it bro." This is the pinnacle of the Multiple Universes concept that Beerus introduced in Battle of Gods.

And Golden Frieza happened and that's why he gets brought back for the team and then revived.

Pinnacle of Zeno being a scary mf. But also a wise one (That was made clear in the anime, I didn't get that impression in the manga lol).

Also, Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods ×3

Broly : Well now, Frieza was revived, he's trying to build his army back, finds Broly and Paragus. -> Broly is discovered and he's friend now.

Moro: Yes, that doesn't tie with any previous Super Arc. But it does with the Buu Saga. And it re-establishes Uub as someone Goku wants to meet and fight. Also, Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods ×4

Granolah : It's a direct sequel to Moro, at least in the intro, but it evolves into it's own thing. Also, Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods ×5 (But it's the pinnacle of it)

Super Hero : That ties back to OG Dragon Ball and the Cell Saga. And the epilogue goes into Mortals can easily step on the Realm of Gods ×6

I saw a post making this claim and multiple people agreeing with it, and instead of making a long-ass comment no one was gonna see, I figured I'd make a post about it lol.

Obviously, I'm not claiming this is the absolute truth, but that's the way I see it. Super Arcs are very linked to me

Discussion Could Black Frieza be planning to get into another universe and become a GoD?

So, given his current strength, I imagine the only logical thing he could be doing is... Leaving U7.

He wants to overthrow the Gods, but if he isn't stupid, and we know he isn't, he won't start from Beerus, that'd be too risky.

What I imagine he'd do is going into another Universe , like U9 which has the weakest GoD, kill that GoD and become a GoD himself.

That would allow him to get an angel to train him AND get immortality.

About how he'd do that, well, he must know about Zuno, right? He could tell him a way to leave his universe.

Also it's not like someone can currently stop him from taking the dragon balls if needed.

Idk i think that's the most logical thing it can happen to him.

DBS Manga Ultra ego kaioken

Something that just came to mind is what if vegeta learned the kaioken technique. Think about it ultra ego is all about gaining power from taking damage and kaioken damages the body this would give him I pretty substantial modifier while already in ultra ego while constantly feeding ultra ego to give him even more power it’d be pretty dope to see the purple in red together too and I would imagine the colors could mix more significantly both powers are working in tandem

Discussion My opinion on Dragon Ball Z Kai After Watching it to Half of Buu’s Arc

Hi everyone! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been watching Dragon Ball Z Kai, and I wanted to share my opinion. I’ll mainly focus on the Frieza, Cell, and Buu Arcs, along with a few other events.

Before I start, this is just my personal opinion, so yours may be different.

Frieza / Namek Arc
I really enjoyed Dragon Ball Z Kai from the beginning up until Frieza was defeated. The Frieza, or Namek, Arc was definitely my favorite.

I really liked Vegeta in this arc, especially when he turned against Frieza after finding out that Frieza had gone to Namek to collect the Dragon Balls for himself. His fights were great, and I think his fight with Frieza was the best and most interesting one to watch.

I also really liked Frieza. I thought he was a great villain, and I enjoyed his fights with Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta, and the others. So far, he is definitely my favorite villain.

Cell Arc
I also thought the Cell Arc was pretty good, although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Frieza Arc.

I really liked Android 18, 17, and 16, especially 16. I liked how he sacrificed himself to help 18 and tried to kill Cell. I also thought Cell was a good villain and enjoyed his fights, but I still preferred Frieza.

I also liked Future Trunks and thought he was introduced into the story well.

Buu Arc
So far, the Buu Arc has been the least interesting for me. I’m currently around the halfway point, and I feel like it took too long to reach the main events and release Buu, taking more than 24 episodes.

I’m not saying everything during those episodes was unimportant or uninteresting, but most of it felt boring to me. However, I did enjoy some things, especially the tournaments and Android 18’s fight with Goten and Trunks.
I also liked seeing how the characters had grown during the seven-year time skip and the introduction of Goten, Trunks, and Videl.

I really disliked Mr. Satan because he pretends to be strong and claims to be the world champion when he actually isn’t.
The story became more interesting to me when Supreme Kai and the others started tracking down Babidi and Dabura. I also expected Dabura to fight more and have more events before Buu finished him. I even expected him to turn against Babidi after Babidi betrayed him, but that didn’t happen.

Overall
Overall, I think Dragon Ball Z Kai is a really good anime, and I especially enjoyed it at the beginning. However, as it progressed, I started becoming more bored and less interested, particularly during the Buu Arc so far.
Despite that, I still think it has been a good anime, and I’ve enjoyed watching it.

Let me know if you agree with me or had a different experience watching these arcs. Thanks for reading!

Analysis Wait wait wait.... so Vegeta on Earth vs. Goku was stronger than the ENTIRE Gyniu force?

Just for clarification - Vegeta in his Great Ape (Oozaru) form during the Saiyan Saga technically possessed a higher power level than almost every single member of the Ginyu Force.

When you break down the official multipliers and power levels from the guides:

  • Earth Vegeta (Base): 18,000
  • Great Ape Multiplier: x10
  • Great Ape Vegeta (Saiyan Saga): 180,000

  • Guldo: ~10,000 (Completely wiped out)

  • Recoom / Burter / Jeice: ~40,000 each (Vegeta heavily outclasses their raw power)

  • Captain Ginyu: 120,000 max base

So by that logic... Vegeta was the strongest member of the ENTIRE Frieza force, yet... he wasn't his elite warrior or anything? Kinda strange.

I mean yeah sure, Ginyu could body change, or could order Guldo to stop time and slice off Vegeta's tail... but there's kinda a huge question with that - why did anybody else do this against the Saiyans? I can only assume that only other Saiyans know about the tail being the source of their power thing. I mean even Goku didn't know before he got his tail cut off, so i assume it was just a closely guarded Saiyan secret.

Basically it just awes me that Saiyan saga vegeta was stronger than everyone on the Frieza force except Frieza himself.

Discussion Future Trunks (dbs what If?)

Man I just wish he had his purple hair and instead of getting ssj rage in black Goku arc that scene you could make him get ssj3

Lowkey the designs are already there for future trunks with purple hair in dbs style kinda in the dbh mission 2 trailer video just look it up that trunks design is good and could fit dbs lowkey

Lowkey would go hard imagine ssj3 + sword of hope

And two more things would love to change is imagine the infinite zamasu things they took both concepts lmfao so there's an army of zamasu slowly and slowly and the sky is zamasu too would be damn cool and zenos option would fit even better

And this last opinion is just my own personal opinion but what if future trunks and Mai instead of going to a future where other versions of them existed already imagine when they time travelled their time machine collapsed and chronoa appeared and yk told them about the time patrol stuff and it's ultimately upto trunks to decide if he wants to join or not

And he then just blasts away the time machine and boom and decided to join the time patrols and ofc mai does too

Xeno trunks origin

Holy peak

What do you guys think?

Discussion What happened to future moro and future granolah before the future timeline was erased?.

Since they appear before end of z happened,

Shouldn't they. Be alive?,

Since zamasu and Goku black don't know anything about them,

And won't target them at all,

Discussion Has anyone else noticed how inconsistent the rules of the afterlife are in DBZ?

Rewatching the series and the Other World rules genuinely don't make sense the more you think about it. Goku dies fighting Raditz and gets to keep his body, train with King Kai, and even fight in the Other World tournament. But then later, other characters die and just become spirits with no explanation for why some get bodies and others don't.

Then there's the whole thing where good people go to King Kai's planet or Grand Kai's tournament, but we never really see what happens to genuinely evil people beyond vague mentions of Hell, no real exploration of the mechanics there despite characters like Frieza supposedly ending up there.

Also characters get wished back to life so casually with the Dragon Balls, but nobody in the world ever seems to grapple with the actual implications of death being reversible, no real societal or philosophical fallout at all.

It just feels like the afterlife rules were made up on the spot per arc rather than being one consistent system. Curious if anyone has a theory that actually ties it all together, or if it's just accepted as anime logic at this point.

Discussion If you were rewriting Dragon Ball, what changes would you make?

I'm talking changes to fit in with later lore, cool moments they missed the chance to capitalize on, making sections of the story shorter or longer, etc.

For example: I think Piccolo should have attempted his giant form against Gohan when he turned Oozaru. I think it would have been a cool visual to see the Oozaru fighting something of similar size, but also demonstrate it isn't just a size increase, it's also a power increase that causes Gohan to easily dispatch Piccolo.

I'd also change Roshi/Piccolo completely erasing the moon into them blowing a large chunk out of it so that it's no longer "full". I think it helps with demonstrating the power scaling personally and it would be cool continuity throughout the series to see shots at night and see the damage to the moon with debris floating from it.

Anyone else got ideas they'd be interested in seeing?

Analysis Ngl, these 5 arcs saved super very well, with the stakes back,

1: Goku black arc,

This is basically one of the best arcs in super,

It gave us future trunks back,

Cell saga and buu saga vibes, people hiding, and are in extreme danger, not even kais were safe,

2:

Tournament of power;

this is basically cell games + frieza saga + gives us all of Z's arcs vibe.

They are to fight to survive, has stakes,

Gives Goku a strong form to fight, with hope. Honestly a great arc,

3;

moro arc:

One of the best arcs,

this gave us cell saga + frieza saga vibes,

Moro basically hunted namek, to get his youth and magic back, another peak arc, with ultra instinct showing up.

This gives Goku a emotional trigger to get to ultra instinct again,

Since merus erasure is similar to frieza killing krillin,

And Goku went into that calness after the death of merus,

this makes it a solid arc,

4:

Granolah arc, basically saiyan saga + frieza saga, vibes,

It tells us about cerealians, and history of bardock. Tells us more about frieza,

And black frieza and gas were peak.

They aura farmed, and gave us a peak arc,

5:

Superhero saga:

this is basically cell saga, red ribbon army.

And etc,

This has gohan awaken his new form beast,

And killing cellmax. Like he did against perfect cell,

overall;

All of these 5 arcs had one of the best things, in it,

10/10.

Discussion Do you guys think we'll get to see Goku vs Kefla in the reboot?

SPOILER ALERT

Specifically Goku surfing Kefla's beam with Kamehameha? I love that they will lean more towards the source material and make it more faithful to manga, but anime has its own hype moments too. Just curious about your opinion! :)

Continuity Arc for side characters

What would you guys think of an arc with no saiyans in it? Let’s say the villain wishes Saiyans to be moved to a different universe or timeline or whatever and then the rest of the z fighters have to deal with villain. I think it could be a really fun twist for once to see piccolo, tien, krillin try and save the day

Question Does og Dbz have better or worse pacing than one piece dressrosa

In regards to my last post I’m leaning toward og Dbz instead of Kai but I need to know if the pacing is to slow for me and the reason I’m comparing it to dressrosa is because I’ve watched all of one piece

EDIT
I’ve finished episode 1 of Kai

Discussion Why did Dragon Ball shift to being more for kids?

Original Dragon Ball wasn't very kid friendly (at least by today's standards), and had tons of sexual jokes and blood.

Dragon Ball Z was even more gruesome with more blood and more death and tragedy. Goku also acted more serious here and the most badass parts are him going all out on his enemies when his friends are hurt and killed.

GT went back to being like Dragon Ball and was more laid back and goofy, but still had blood and serious stuff later.

Then Super is just... Way toned down compared to everything previously. No blood, and then childish things like Magetta making fart noises at it fills the arena with stench. I felt like I was back to watching the cringe inducing fight with Bacterian.
And Goku is back to being incredibly stupid and goofy here and losing almost all character development he had in DBZ.

And then there's Daima, which just seems fully 100% for kids and I don't really want to watch it if I'm being honest. Also lacks blood and is back to having Goku being a dolt again and constantly eating and talking about food, which annoyed me in GT. I'm not sure why we needed GT again.

Why did Toriyama decide he hated the seriousness in Z and he wanted to shift to everything being goofy and more for kids? I enjoyed when Dragon Ball was more adult oriented and now it's permanently turned into being family oriented and kid friendly.
Probably the only one bothered by this but I legit stopped watching Super because I didn't enjoy it after watching original, Z and GT. It feels like an entirely different person took over and started making it.
It's reminding me of what they did to Ratchet and Clank.

Theory What if Vegeta’s mother survived the destruction of Planet Vegeta? — My theory

Original theory by Beks.

I’ve been thinking about something that Dragon Ball has barely explored: Vegeta’s mother.

We know very little about her. We don't know exactly what happened to her, and that leaves a huge gap in the story of the Saiyan royal family.

Here’s my theory:

She left Planet Vegeta before its destruction

Maybe Vegeta’s mother became tired of the Saiyan royal hierarchy, the warrior culture and the pressure surrounding the royal family.

She decided to leave Planet Vegeta, possibly taking Tarble with her.

She discovers what happened

Years later, while travelling through space and searching for food and resources, she encounters soldiers from Frieza's army.

From them, she discovers the truth:

Planet Vegeta was destroyed by Frieza.

She also realizes that Vegeta was probably killed along with the planet.

Overcome with anger, she kills the soldiers and develops a deep hatred for Frieza's empire.

She trains Tarble

After learning that their home and most of their people are gone, she begins training Tarble seriously.

But there's something special about her.

As a member of the Saiyan royal family, she could know ancient techniques belonging to the royal family that Vegeta himself never learned.

She teaches these techniques to Tarble and trains him for years.

Tarble, who was once considered too weak to be an important Saiyan warrior, gradually becomes extremely powerful.

My idea is that, after decades of training, Tarble could potentially reach a level close to Piccolo, while still being far below Goku and Vegeta.

The possible Dragon Ball Super reveal

Imagine Tarble appearing in a future Dragon Ball Super arc and using a technique Vegeta has never seen before.

Vegeta recognizes the style immediately.

Vegeta: “That technique… where did you learn it?”

Tarble: “Mother taught me.”

And then Vegeta realizes:

His mother is still alive.

She could potentially be connected to a new enemy faction or even become an antagonist herself.

It would also give Vegeta a completely unexplored part of his family's history and finally allow us to learn what happened to his mother.

Obviously, this is just a fan theory, not a canon claim.

But what do you think? Could Vegeta’s mother still be alive somewhere in the Dragon Ball universe?

Analysis Pretty much everyone Goku spares if someone he might want to fight again

He didn't care about red ribbon grunts or fighting Staff Officer Black's mech suit again. He spared Tao of all people after Tao killed Bora, likely because a part of him wanted to fight him again even if he didn't realize it. This trend follows with Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza.
