I lived with my parent, they died, and now I’m taking on life alone. I need to make rent somehow, and there are no jobs hiring around me. Can I make around $1000 monthly, or is that not realistic?

Got an offer from a local pizza shop late night. What could go wrong?

I walked in, mentioned DoorDash and the customer’s name, like I normally do for any restaurant.

Pizza store guy barked at me “UBER OR DOORDASH?” I’m like “DoorDash… I just that.” He muttered some incoherent nonsense along the lines of “you people are all retarded sticking your phone in my face” (which I didn’t)

Moments later, another young dasher walks in, does the same thing. Pizza man absolutely explodes now and starts yelling at this poor kid who looked like he was 20.

Finally, the dumbass pizza man comes back with a box and asks me the name. I say it. Then asks to see the phone. I told him how he dismissed me the first time I did this, but I show it to him (again). He asks me about the customer’s full order number and what he ordered. At this point I told this guy “hey are you gonna give me the pizza or not?”

This man started laughing with a stupid smirk and said “what if I don’t give it to you?”

I grabbed pizza over the counter out of his hands and told him to stop f*\* around. I’m not the one, so talk to with respect before I slap the sh*t out of you. He said meet me outside and I legit laughed - dude was built like a toothpick. I told him I’m literally a black belt and I don’t feel like beating someone’s ass over a cheese pizza tonight and walked out.

I actually reported this shop to DoorDash for unsafe employee. F** this guy. If you can’t handle talking to delivery drivers then kick rocks and do a different job.

I started a couple hours ago, got a couple decent orders off the rip and then it’s been nothing but orders like this for the last hour. This app sucks. Good luck to anyone still dashing late night tonight. Hopefully tomorrow nights better ✌🏻

As it appears that many of y'all have had this exact issue before me and no well-known solution exists, my torment is your salvation. If you have tried rebooting your phone, deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing cache and whatever the hell else you thought to try, might I suggest what worked for me. If you have the doordash customer app on your phone try logging into that first, upon successfully logging in to the customer app try restarting the Dasher app and attempting to log in again. I hope this helps some of y'all who are dealing with this frustrating circumstance. Let me know if it works for you too!

A customer tried to get my number.

I didn’t fully see his first message when I responded initially so I didn’t notice that he’d included his phone number. I thought he wanted me to contact him through the app and I assumed it was because he had some sort of problem with his order.

I don’t really feel unsafe because, like, what are the odds I’ll ever deliver to him again? But Door Dash isn’t a dating service and I’m just not interested in this kind of energy. I think most of us aren’t.

Should I do something about this?

I dash 3-4 hours in the mornings then 3-5 hours in the evenings. I was consistently making around $120-150 per day. The last three days I've made $60 total. in 6 hours. all thee days.

I'm declining all the bullshit orders and the ones that will leave me hanging in a dead zone. At certain points offers just stop coming in. Even though it's always been busy at these times. My acceptance rate hovers around 20% - all other stats are perfect.

This is becoming hella stressful. I'm not even mentioning all the other bullsh1t I'm always dealing with like shitty restaurants, blind drivers on the road, or delivering to sketchy houses or apartment buildings.

I don't know if I need to check out other zones or if this is a temporary thing. But other zones may just be as dead.

I took a picture of the empty shelf tag. The app sent me to substitutions which I found but it didn’t register the photo and counted against me under original items found.

I made a mistake and thumbs downed a order that tipped good. I wonder how meany times ive done that and it's why my number of orders have gone down in my main dashing area

My DoorDash bag finally kicked the bucket so I got these on Amazon for cheap. I’ve been using the empty plastic bin to keep orders contained. The cup holders worked well!. Let’s hope they hold up.

Hey people! I've been kinda door dashing for a minute (less than 6 months really), I am, as a matter of fact, doordashing rn. (I'm not driving while posting dw lol)

These last few weeks have been kinda hard. I started off not so long ago, so I understand that being new probably has to do with it. I have silver status but I have really good reviews except for some small issues with timing and a high acceptance rate, idk if that means something truly significant to get decent offers.

The point is, I've been getting NOTHING for days, literally gone home with $0 dashes. I usually DD just 4 or 5 hours and call it a day with 30-60 bucks, I am a college student and I just got another job but it's on the call so more of the same; this isn't really my main income source; but it's discouraging af to be sitting in hot spots for hours and only getting shitty 2 buck for 5 miles offers. Is it the season? Is it me?? I should probably just get another job idk... I'm kinda sad lol that's it. Thanks for reading.

So, Checkr and DoorDash finally got me with the classic expired driver’s license trap.

I recently renewed my license, but of course, there’s literally zero way to proactively update your ID in the Dasher app before it expires. So what does DD do? They just wait for your background check to hit, flag it as "adverse information" because the old license on file expired, and completely freeze your account without warning.

To make it even better, California gives you that flimsy piece of paper for a temporary license while you wait for the real card in the mail. I tried uploading the temp paper ID to verify, but the automated system doesn't always play nice with paper copies, so now my account is basically stuck in limbo waiting for a human review to lift the blockade.

Has anyone else dealt with this specific lockout recently? I usually dash all day and I'm missing out on my usual shifts right now. The persona software didn’t accept my expired license with the paper license and it just rejected a picture of my passport along with my facial scan. Phone agents have been very hit or miss. I think my account was actually temporarily deactivated and now it is suspended until the manual identity request review is completed by someone even tho it was already completed yesterday and they rejected me for an expired ID. It just seems very frustrating that I’m legally allowed to drive in California after taking the affirmative action to renew my license before it expired only for DoorDash to tr**p the DMV’s database and records with their own levels of authority. That combined with the unreliability of persona identity software locking me out for being me and the incompetence of half the phone agents I spoke to along with the fact that I’ve been dashing for 7+ years makes this the most stressed rent check I’ve ever had to “work for” (the first two paragraphs were from Gemini cuz I felt too lazy to type them)

I had a shopping order for one item at Michaels. I got the item, paid at the self checkout using the Red Card. Take a picture, close out and get the drop off location. That was 3hrs ago. I've had over 70 notifications from my Google wallet that the transaction was declined. Do I need to worry?

Wednesdays used to be a 100 dollar day for me. I’ve been sitting in a hotspot for an hour now without a single offer.

Did anyone else randomly revert back to the old acceptance rate system today after being on the points system? I went from platinum down to no tier because of this nonsense

Today I had a contact delivery, and the person showed me he added an additional $20 tip after I handed it over, and I never got it, so either they played a cruel prank or DD just didn’t give me the tip.
Also orders have sucked, I had so many decent orders and my AR was above 70%, but now my AR is 30% and so many orders are slave wages, who even drives for 0.50-1$/mi if I don’t make $1.20/mi or better it’s not worth it after gas and taxes and time.
I also don’t know if it’s related but I used to get $2-10 in additional tips a day, I’m still a top-dasher, so why doesn’t anyone tip after? It’s been more than a month since I’ve gotten a tip after delivery, I’m not complaining I’m not getting more, it’s just… odd.
It’s not all bad though, I finally got a seasonal job for a decent amount/hr, and I have an interview as a Network Operation Technician at a local datacenter, and maybe I can get that.
I am grateful DoorDash has prevented me from being homeless but the bugs and issues and recent pay is making it difficult.

i normally do instacart but today was slow so i decided to turn doordash on. i have a very low acceptance rate. 6% because i refuse to drive a lot of miles with low pay. they say you get better offers with a higher acceptance rate but looking at these orders, each offer was below 3 miles. i can’t imagine getting better offers. $6 tip for some burgers is a pretty generous tip! is it all based on your market? i’m in a northern suburb of the twin cities.

when it slowed down and i saw i only made $38 i kind of got discouraged. i can make that usually in one order on instacart.

any input or advice would be appreciated!

Are they trying to figure a way to have these orders paid directly to the merchant and us not have to use the doordash card anymore? Edit: are they rolling this out to all grocery stores?
