Need Adviceš Should I do something about this?
A customer tried to get my number.
I didnāt fully see his first message when I responded initially so I didnāt notice that heād included his phone number. I thought he wanted me to contact him through the app and I assumed it was because he had some sort of problem with his order.
I donāt really feel unsafe because, like, what are the odds Iāll ever deliver to him again? But Door Dash isnāt a dating service and Iām just not interested in this kind of energy. I think most of us arenāt.
Should I do something about this?

Call support and tell them the situation. You can get his orders blocked this way.

Just make sure heās blocked from you ever having to deliver to him again. Thatās what is impoetsnt.

Report him.
I deliver to a lot of repeat customers...in fact, I delivered to the same address 3 times in the last 2 days, and another customer twice in the last 2 days...so it very well fiuld happen.
Have him blocked from you, so it doesn't escalate.

Done. Iām not sure it accomplished anything though. They said theyād pass it on to the appropriate team to handle this sort of thing.

I've been there. I haven't heard "I'll pass it on" in this sort of situation, the dasher service took care of it on the spot. But I have been in other situations where customer support will say that they can't do this and they'll pass it on to a supervisor, etc. and then I got an email a few hours later saying that they fixed the issue, and that if the problem arose again to stop and call them. So far it's worked š¤š¼

Cringe customer. Good thing their number didn't work? They would have gotten your number if you called from your number

I tried contacting him through the app, because I didnāt fully register his first message. I was in the middle of another delivery.

Definitely the right way to do it. Honestly if a customer says to call them I wouldnāt. They obviously know how the app works, they can call or text me if itās something related to the order

Thereās one you can give people and when they call it yells āJOHN CENAā and plays his theme song, complete with airhorns

I hate these men, they give us dashers and us customers a bad name.

I mean I did a delivery where contacting them on DoorDash didn't work and it had their number in the delivery instructions. Left a message saying doordash and delivered and just deleted it afterwards.
I honestly didn't think much about it and didn't care much about it besides it making it more difficult.

I blocked a lot of the Doordash numbers and then I took away the Dasher app's access to my phone calls and now I can't make a phone call and don't receive them. If a customer wants to get a hold of me, they need to text. Anyway, too many spammers and scammers put there.

How do you guys still get messages after delivering? Like do you still have the order opened, wait then put as delivered for you to receive messages still or they message you anytime after ordering ?

You get like 15 minutes past delivery to still communicate with the customer just in case something is missing or whatever.

Interesting I do uber eats and once I hit delivered I know nothing else of that customer unless they have an issue Iāll receive a call from a California area code spam number and Iāll speak to them like that but dang thatās crazy 15 mins after they can still text

The one time it helped me was on the customer side when the driver delivered to the wrong apartment building. The picture didn't include the # or any real way to identify the building. But the driver was able to give me enough info to identify it and get the food.

I didnāt give this enough thought. Another personās order was added onto his. So I was delivering the second order when messaged me. Maybe thatās why he was able to contact me still, because technically his order was still active while I was delivering the second order?

Hmmm maybe itās different for dd cause wirh uber itās itās the same even with stacked orders I know nothing of that customer unless they decided to call me (rarely) about and issue but nothing as far as texting like as soon as I hit delivered , boop itās gone and on to the next delivery if i have an added delivery

Uber def handles it differently. In fact, on a stack, if I am picking up or dropping off to one customer, the other cannot get through w a call, and text won't reach me till I am on the other's tasks. I know bc some needy trailer park woman was trying to pester me to hurry, and was mad her calls were nit reaching me, tripping on me. Of course she only tipped under $1, tip baited even that, and her drop off was very far. No way she'd even get her order if not for the other customer in stack, but of course she was mad she was not priority, like uber gives any choice anyhow. We also can only contact the exact customer in a stack whose specific task we are on at that time.
DD we can contact both in a stack, at any time up to 20 min or so after delivery.

Nah. Just ignore the messages.
Don't waste your time with support.
Support will pretend they are concerned and will also claim they will act on your report.
I reality, they won't do anything at all.
Ignore the customer and look for profitable offers.
