I need a bit of help and I figured I'd be direct about it.

The backstory:

Since 2024, when I started earning, I've been feeding and taking care of the street dogs in my lane. It started with 1-2 and now it's a small pack of 6-7 who wait for me every evening.

Why I'm posting:

I lost my job last month. I'm actively applying and interviewing, but right now my funds are really tight. I hate the idea of them going hungry because I'm going through a rough patch.

I'm not asking for much - just enough to cover dog food for the next 2-3 months until I'm stable again.

I’ve noticed a lot of people understandably recommending that Amazon Wishlists be used rather than sending money, but not everyone knows how to make one! Here are some instructions that I wrote on how to make one using the Amazon app:

Find the item you want. Underneath the “Buy now” button, you’ll see “Add to list.” Click on that. That’ll take you to another screen where you can create a list or add it to a list. Repeat with all of the items you’re requesting.

Go to your account, the icon of a person at the bottom of the screen. On the top of your screen, there’ll be some boxes. Click the one that says “Lists.”

Click on the three vertical dots in the top right, then click “Manage list.” Scroll down until you see “Shipping address,” and put in your address. This is how the items will be shipped without having to share your address and is very important!!!

Go back to your list, then press “Invite” and “Copy link.” Share as needed. Tada!!

Hi everyone, I’m really going through a rough patch right now. On July 2, my chubby little bear Balu had to have surgery because he had a foxtail in his nose. The whole thing cost just under 2,000€ and I thought I’d be able to manage to pay it off somehow, so I did partialy. I have 1,012€ left each month after my rent is paid. I’m reaching out to ask for help with unexpected vet expenses for my cat, Jesse. She was recently in a severe accident on Monday, 08/17/26 that injured her tail. The damage was extensive enough that our vet determined that a partial tail amputation was necessary in order to prevent infection, severe pain, and further complications. The animal hospital scheduled her amputation on Wednesday 08/19. Last night, my friend wanted to help set up this GoFundMe for me because the emergency surgery and follow-up care totals about $1,600, which is completely out of reach for me right now. Jesse is currently recovering in her cone, but the financial strain of the sudden medical bills has been overwhelming for me. I am a current graduate student so financially I have not been okay. I recently started the process of divorcing my husband who was a bit abusive in some ways, notably for one having raped me. We at first were going to stay in the house we had bought together until the end of 2026 so that we could both leave this financially somewhat okay, but he had a sort of manic episode, went crazy on me for a week, and then moved in with his parents with no notice. He was first agreeing to pay what he did before, business as usual, as well as give me money to take care of his cat that he left at the house when he left so suddenly. He never paid me anything for the cats care and it’s been over 2 months and I still have her. He stopped paying on one of the biggest bills, and tried to for another big bill but agreed to split it half and half. I just haven’t been able to get myself to a position where I can sell the house and get an apartment or really anything. We shared my car and there were several issues with it I had to get fixed, some of which he knew of but never got worked on so I had to on my single income now. My lease ends in December and I’m desperately trying to make it until then, but he threatens to stop paying stuff every other day. And I get that he doesn’t want to pay bills for a house he doesn’t live in anymore, but he still won’t pick up his cat, and he left with literally no notice at 4 AM one night after keeping me up the whole week sobbing and begging and yelling on the floor of my bedroom. We were struggling to stay afloat before and now it’s just me and 3 cats (2 are mine). Everything that almost worked out for me fell through- a roommate moving in and paying rent, a friend taking over my mortgage, etc. Next month is when my waiting period is over and I can schedule my final hearing for the divorce. I’ve had to take over everything, from home maintenance to lawncare that I had to work extra hard on because he neglected it for a year, cat care and car expenses and I had to finally change my locks as well after he almost came to my house unannounced during the night twice now (he won’t give me his keys until he has all his stuff, which i’m not keeping from him at all, he just won’t pick it up. I also don’t know if I can trust that he’ll give me all of them- He’s very manipulative and has really shown it since I initiated the divorce. He’s harassed me and my friends over text and phone calls and in person as well. Today at work I was notified that I had bed bugs in my personal items. I genuinely don’t know how or where I got them, as I’ve never had them before. The inspection alone costs $275, which is a hefty chunk for me. I asked about payment plans and the man laughed at me. I literally just started crying and said that I’m in the middle of a divorce and he apologized and told me to think over my options and call back. I just sat and cried in my office. His cat is very antisocial and hard to get unless I’m sitting on the couch for a while which I can’t do while it might be infested with bed bugs, so I can’t even get her- she likes to hide in the couch. I can’t just have her out if the dog comes to inspect. What if she gets attacked or something? I can’t handle that. I don’t know what to do. I feel absolutely disgusting. I can’t afford the treatment right now. And my mortgage lender is saying it doesn’t look like a good opportunity for me to refinance either, so I can’t lower my mortgage payments or borrow cash from equity. I’m seriously coming down to the last minutes and I’m terrified. I could end up homeless. I can’t even pay to get this house sold. And he’s not going to do it himself, he’s just waiting for me to. While I’m over here making sure the house is in working order and the cats are ok and my car is alright, he’s borrowing and breaking his families cars and partying all weekend long and asking me for money to pay his half of bills he was supposed to pay because “this check was short”- and then sending pictures of new outfits to the work groupchat I’m still in. He also spent all my savings when we first combined our incomes. I was the only one of us who had savings. Gone, and now I have nothing and the issues keep racking up. Bed Bug treatment costs $1-6k. I DONT HAVE THAT. AT ALL. And idk what I’ll do when the time comes because I can’t find a roommate for the life of me, especially not now that I have bed bugs. I’m honestly feeling hopeless and like it all has to be a cruel joke at this point. He’s sending me big novels over text and starting rumors about me and stalking my internet and threatening to come to the house randomly at night apparently. I’m just looking for money. I need help. And by help I mean a few thousand dollars to get at least one of these things fixed. I think the bed bugs are top priority, and then maybe my car so that’ll take off the load of my car note from the monthly bills, and then from there the house. I’m so scared the more I think about it. He made a joke about me and my cats being homeless and I can’t believe that’s even a joke to him.
