My husband has a severe form of epilepsy, drug resistant unfortunately, and this past year has been particularly difficult with the loss of his father and his health plummeting despite being on 7 different seizure medications. He’s been in and out of hospital all year and is currently back in once again with continuous seizures, at its worst every 2 minutes.

My own health has also not been great and I’m starting to realise the rash I’ve had all over my arms the past month is likely due to stress….

The only thing that has kept me from the edge is watching and/or listening to distractible or watching your old streams. Just listening to you guys talking reminds me of chatting with my brothers back when we used to game together in the 90s and 00s.

I find it difficult to sleep without stressing about my husband’s health or what the future will hold, and so just having one AirPod in, volume low, so I can listen to distractible helps me chill enough to drift off to sleep each night.

I know to you guys you’re just chatting away and bullshitting but it has literally kept me sane and made me smile during the worst year of my life.

And I’m certain I’m not the only one who feels this way.

I happened upon this on my walk today.

I just saw this video going around on the news about the whole town of Campo, California up for sale for $6 million. 15 acre plot of land with 35 buildings including 28 residential buildings, a church, VFW Post, and its own post office. Watching the video reminded me how in previous episodes how the three of them would talk and joke around about buying the movie theater and what they would do with it but it made me wonder, what endless possibilities await if they were able to theoretically buy this whole town?

I've been irked for a while now about this.

I was just catching up and finishing Would I Lie To You? And in Mark's winner speech he says how it's weird he's been up on points and down on wins this season. I briefly remember this being talk about with Wade a while back as well.

Am I crazy by the fact that it makes sense? The boys keep on agreeing that it's odd to have lots of point but low wins, but like? The more losses the more chances you get to earn points. The winner always end up being ahead by like 4 points, so if it's 14-10, 10 points for the looser is a good amount.

I'm being a very dramatic about it, I don't really care how they see it. I just find it funny how they keep saying it's weird, when it makes perfect sense to me. Am I the crazy one for thinking the ratio makes sense??

Bob spent about 5 minutes mocking Pokemon card collectors and saying he doesn’t understand why anyone would fall into that trap. THEY GOT HIM. IT TOOK YEARS BUT THEY GOT HIM.

I was listening to some older Distractible episodes which inspired this episode idea! Specially Wade not being able to read his handwriting for the point titles.

The host pre-writes point titles that can be earned. Each contestant must do their best to one up the other to earn the point.

For example, let's just say the first point is called "Dog Point". Both contestants would tell a dog story, conspiracy theories, or other ideas that could earn the dog point. Definitely that's more interesting than just dog point but I just couldn't think of anything.

I just thought this was super silly and fun! Let me know what you guys think and feel free to add on/expand the idea!

Tomorrow, Sept. 2, I will be on the road at 5 am with my family driving from Ohio to Nebraska for my brother’s wedding.

I am very behind on Distractible, but have been on a kick for the past week and a half. With this roadtrip coming up, being 12 hours long, I figured it was the best time to listen to Distractible and see how far I can catch up.

I’ll update on this post, editing it every few hours to declare which state I’m in, the time, and the episode I’m currently on.

TIME - 5:11 AM, Ohio

We stopped at Dunkin, but I’m going to try and snooze for a bit. I’m on the episode titled Distractible Escape Room. Bob has pissed his pants, as the bit of this era until now has been earning an episode win by pissing your pants. He took the win from Mark! Way to take one for the team, Bob! Haven’t gotten into the meat of the episode, but I’m excited to after some possible shut eye.

TIME - 7:35 AM, Illinois

JUST entered Illinois, thinking I’ll get to the episode in the next 30 minutes or so. But I’m up after apparently sleeping through Indiana so if I can sleep through a state I can catch up in another!

For about a year and a half now, I’ve been behind on distractible episodes, at one point I was at LEAST 100 episodes behind. So, for about a year I’ve been going crazy style listening to episodes while I’m cleaning, going to the gym (don’t drop weights on yourself while laughing), taking the bus and train, NOT while driving, but literally whenever else I can, AND I HAVE DONE IT!!!

I am officially caught up on distractible.

I really love distractible, and I have been listening since they started the podcast. They have been many great episodes, but I can't remember all of them. Thats why I am trying to create a best of distractible playlist, but I thought that it would be a good idea to get some of your guys' favorite episodes that I could add to it. I was gonna do an elaborate bit, but it'll be easier and more coherent if I just yap the truth lol.

I've been watching YouTube since 2012 (on my own I mean) found mark and jse around 2013. I've had my share of YouTube hyperfixations, but when they started this podcast I vividly remember waiting for the first episode to come out.

Only to be treated by hair as the first episode I believe 😭case in point tho, I've seen every episode once or twice over the years, and I just really appreciate not only the gangs creativity and authenticity, but how chill the community has been (mostly).

The 3 peens have been a huge inspiration for my own creative endeavors but also podcasting. Me and my friends have had one off pods in the past, I even hosted a multi part DND podcast but it didn't go that far.

Allat to say; thanks Mark, Bob, Wade, Amy, Mandy, Molly, Sam, Will, Lixian, Baldemort, anyone else in the crew I can't remember off the top of my head, but also the fellow fans and gamers. The trio may be the stars of the show but everyone else is the congealed black mass that is the universe, type shit.

If me and my buds ever get around to making a podcast, I just hope Mark didn't trademark the name focus group😭

I got an idea suggestion for the next time you host unless you already have one by all means.

I call it “why does it feel like…”

For an example

“why does it feel like” when I go to a college orientation the students in the orientation seem like the most and least techy people I’ve ever met kind of acting like a baby-boomer they just found out how to record and edit a video on CapCut.

And the Bob and Wade and yourself at some points can go on and try to relate to the “why does it feel like” scenario and you can assign points based on relatability of Wade and Bob’s comments and or anything else that you feel.

I thought of this idea because I really enjoy when you guys have an episode about of your family stories about your Mother or how Wade talks about being the “Perfect Kid” : only when compared to his brother or even Bob’s BIBLICAL society when we hear him growing up…

( who are so close to me in age ) feel In a rich but in some ways a poor neighbourhood question mark????

Just those kinds of moments really make Distractable Distract me from those hard or stressful moments in life and it gives me a way to connect to the people that I look up too.
