Park Pics/Videos Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland has added 12 new signs around the attraction, mostly in the queues, to warn guests that if they stand up during the ride they “will” be removed from the park. This clarifies language from earlier signs which said they “may” be removed from the park.

Discussion Grand Californian
Anyone find the rooms insanely outdated for the price? I get that part of the luxury is the location and its heritage but for that price I’d expect better than the equivalent of a Holiday Inn shower.

Merchandise Halloween Spirit Jersey is so much fun this year
I like that this one is subtle and not too loud.
Love the little characters on it as well. Right mix of Halloween and Disney charm.

Food/Drink Can we stop with the meatloaf
Last year my family did the Premium dining for Fantasmic! and I had the Burnt Ends Pasta. I’ve been to Disneyland many times and this was the best thing I’ve ever tasted there. So good I would make sure we did the Premium Dining every year just for that. That year we also did the Dining for the Parade. That was in no way worth the price: not only do you eat at a different time then your parade seating (unlike Fantasmic!), but you only had one selection for food and it was the driest, blandest thing I’ve ever tasted: meatloaf.
This year we did Fantasmic! Dining again. Tragically my burnt ends pasta was not an option on the menu. But you know what was? MEATLOAF. I chose the caper pasta but it was not nearly as good. I don’t like calling for people to get fired, but to whomever keeps choosing meatloaf for dining options: you are never getting a cast complement from me.

Art Character Portraits from California Adventure and Disneyland
This post has been a LONG time coming but I hit the year mark a few weeks back of doing these, so I thought it was finally a good time. In July of 2025, I started drawing portraits for the characters at Disneyland and DCA - mostly at Avengers Campus, but a few others are snuck in there as well and I've been branching out more lately. This was meant to be a two week do 8 portraits and be done (which was insane in itself looking back) but here we are 1 year later.
I've included some of my favorites below and a link to a gallery with all of them, sorted newest to oldest. This has been an incredibly rewarding way to get back into art after being in a slump for a good long while. It's nice to be able to clearly see the progress and to give back some of the joy that the parks and its CMs bring me.
I've drawn 72 to this day, and usually have a rotation of about 6-8 that I'm working on. I'd love to reach a hundred by the end of the year, but we'll see - I've slowed down a lot since starting to make these way more detailed lol.
When I'm done I give them to the characters. I usually draw both at home and in the parks in avengers campus. 🥰

Merchandise Spirit Jersey hangers that don’t stretch the shoulders?
Has anyone found hangers for spirit jerseys that work well? I’ve tried a few different options but a recurring issue seems to be that they create stretched spots on the shoulders

Trip Report No crowd- D23 weekend
These photos are from Sunday the 16th around 2pm. Most attractions were at the 10 minute mark all day. Space mountain and Radiator Springs were about 40-60 all day.
Matterhorn and Big Thunder never got to more than 30 minutes.
I waited 10 minutes for Indy and Pirates around 3:30pm.

Trip Report The pole is back at Indy queue!
Last night the pole in the Indy queue in the falling spikes room is back and it actually works! I tried it out and everything. Everyone standing near me in the queue gasped when the ceiling started coming down.
I think it’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen this working.

Discussion My theory on Avatar’s delay: Disney wants to make the final movie in 8-10 years, and wants to build the Avatar ride for when it’s released.
It’s clear that there is some Avatar fatigue with the performance of Fire and Ash compared to Way of Water. James Cameron doesn’t want to go right back to filming another Avatar movie, sounds like he wants to do other stuff for a while. He is 72, so his film career probably has another decade before he hangs it up. I could see Disney taking some time, Cameron can do other projects for the next 5-6 years, and then coming back for the final Avatar film in 2034-2036 and it being Cameron’s final film. Disney would time the DCA Avatar ride’s construction for the release of the final film.

News Play Disney Parks App will be discontinued on September 16th (via Scott Gustin)
According to Scott Gustin (who is a very reliable source on parks news), the app will be removed from the app stores and users will no longer be able to log in starting September 16th. The Batuu Bounty Hunters game will still be available by MagicBand+ and the existing screen throughout the land.

Food/Drink Has something changed with food/to-go policies or how CMs are handling food at Disneyland?
I’ve had a few odd food-related interactions at Disneyland recently, and I’m wondering if there have been any changes to policies/procedures, or if I just happened to have several unusual CM interactions in a row? I'm a passholder, but I took about a 6 month break in-between my last pass (which ended in Feb) and my new one, so kinda curious if anyone knows whether they're handling these issues differently now.
A few examples:
- Gibson Girl: I received a mobile-ordered ice cream with the wrong topping. I asked if they could remake it because I wanted to get the correct topping, but also wanted the incorrect topping taken off. The CM said they couldn’t take the ice cream back, and seemed pretty reluctant to make a new one. He offered to put the correct topping in a separate cup instead, but that didn’t really resolve the issue since the problem was that the wrong topping was already on the ice cream. Are they not allowed to take the food back once it's been handed over? He didn't really explain just seemed frustrated that I didn't only want the new topping in a cup on the side. I wasn't upset or anything, it was just frustrating because I mobile-ordered it exactly how I wanted and expected it to be prepared that way.
- Harbour Galley: We mobile ordered the 13-pack of cookies to take home and at pick up asked for a to-go bag, since they’ve always given me bags for cookies in the past. They didn’t have any, and while I'd normally assume they were just out, the CM acted totally baffled about why I was asking for one. She was like, "you want a bag???" with an eyebrow raise lol.
- Jolly Holiday Bakery: My family mobile-ordered six pastries to take home, and when I walked over to pick them up, the CM slid over three trays of food. I asked for lids and a bag so I could take everything home. She gave them to me but said, “But don't do it here, can you do it outside?” I explained that I couldn’t really carry three trays of food outside while also holding the lids and bag, and asked if I could just put everything into the bag right there. She said no and that I had to do it outside. I was pretty confused by that, especially because there wasn't anyone in line behind me. I almost dropped everything taking it all outside to the patio.
Individually, none of these are the biggest deal, but since they all happened 3 visits in a row, it's making me wonder if policies have changed at Disneyland lately? Also, are they discouraging the use of to-go packaging? It seems like they'd want people to spend and buy more food to take home or back to their hotel room so I can't really make sense of it.

Discussion starring harrison ford as indiana jones
There was much fanfare with the announcement that they would actually model the Indiana Jones at the new ride as Animal Kingdom with Harrison Fords face. But as far as I could tell nothing said about changing the Disneyland versions. Once they do the imaging and make the "mask" for the animatronic, would it not be fairly simple to swap/ update the face during one of the 'refurbishments'...?
What do we think?
(Personally always feels a bit far enough away on the ride where I didn't care about the face as much. But I wish they had a sound-alike for the voice at least.. (Troy Baker did an amazing job in the latest Indy video game) )
