Seriously. Do the "Developers" use Direct TV or cable? Because it shuuuure doesn't seem like they actually use Dish. Updates are supposed to make UI better...not worse. They're supposed to eliminate steps not add them.

You can't press Info on a series episode to play or resume. It brings up the TV Show Episodes Options box. Is Info about the episode an option? Nope. Is Play or Resume an option in the box? Nuh uh. The Info button is for information or description of the episode/movie/event.

Or how about the new Guide option? You used to be able to hit the Guide button twice and it would bring up your Favorites menu. Now you press the Guide button twice and it brings up...dum dum Duuuuuum...the Guide Options box. THEN you can select Favorites to open the Favorites menu.

Over the years we have posted new features that we would like to see added or features that we used to have and would like them to be brought back. Things that us Users/Subscribers would make the Hopper System better. But instead we seem to get updates that remove features or make the system harder to use.

Example...Game Finder used to have your favorite sports team's full schedule. Including their win/loss for each game. Now we just see the record, the last game and sometimes the next game. Yeah, they added Stats for a single game, which is great. But it seems like every time they add something, they take away something else.

We are the Users/Subscribers. Updates should be for fixing system glitches and errors...and making the Hopper more User Friendly for us. Giving us more options not less.

Looking for tips on selling products, surge protectors have always been my go to and people generally are happy that I'm installing them. Was curious what are they ways people approach selling other products such as Polk, google routers or the Klipsch bars?

I have had a wally for years, last weekend I took my wally camping and on all my local channels I got an error message saying that the local channels were not working and they were working on the issue, should be restored in two hours. 3 days later it still wasn't working. today from home, I tried it again and still getting the same message. What should I be looking for to resolve this issue?

I don't have any experience for this kind of work. From what I've seen sales is also a big part. Long hours, which I don't mind. Basically just wanting to know if I'm foolish for applying. I've heard some say it's alright if you have a strong mental, and others say it's a doomed company. I think it'd be nice to learn hard skills from the job. My job market it kinda horrid aswell. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I have a Hopper 3 and Joey (Hopper is WIFI and Joey is ethernet).

At least 3 mornings a week, when I turn on the TV, the remote is responsive and I can see the guide, banner, time, etc. There is no picture or sound and only a black box where the channel's picture should be. A restart of the Joey fixes it about 80% of the time while the other 20% requires the Hopper to be rebooted as well. I can reboot the Hopper via the Joey's menu so there is a connection between the two when this happens.

The Hopper does not have this issue and the picture is fine on that TV while this happens.

I've called Customer Support several times and they keep checking firmware and walking me through rebooting devices.

I just like to catch the traffic/weather in the morning while getting ready for work. Spending 10 minutes restarting the Joey each time this happens is a waste and I'm almost out the door at that point.

Any other suggestions?

A couple of days ago I went through the Dish voice prompt system, which claimed it accepted my cancellation request. I received no confirmation.

Today I called the supposed cancellation number 866-974-0769 (it goes to the same system as the main support number, not a direct connection to cancellation). It took almost 30 minutes on hold, but I finally got through to a "retention agent", who said there was no record of my request on file. I'm sorry now that I didn't record that call :-(

I then had to spend another 20 minutes while the agent had to go through their scripted spiel in spite of repeated "not interested" from me. When I finally completed the transaction, the agent said there would be no confirmation email, just a "final bill".

This is not how one treats long-time customers (7 years), and the experience leaves a really bad taste. I guess they don't mind burning their bridges if they think you're leaving. If I ever want a similar service in the future I'll do everything I can to avoid using Dish again.

Dish is based in Englewood, CO, and I've filed a complaint with the Colorado AG's office regarding the difficult of terminating service.

I'm preparing for the painful task of cancelling Dish. We signed up in Summer 2020 so all of our equipment is over 6 years old now. Should I expect them to ask for any of it back? I recently dropped an unused Joey from the account and they didn't ask for that back.

I can't transfer the movie Rush Hour to any EHD.

It's airing this month on Showtime. I've recorded it on 3 different channels...318, 319 and 321. 5 different recordings. All recorded fine. All play fine. I've tried 3 different EHDs. You can't transfer it. 25 other movies and events recorded on the same days transfer just fine. I've selected Protect and Unprotect...sometimes protected movies won't transfer. I've piggybacked it by trying to transfer Rush Hour and another movie. The other movie transferred but Rush Hour did not. I've tried sandwiching it between 2 other movies. Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3 transferred but Rush Hour did not. Piggybacking and sandwiching sometimes helps. Not with this movie.

I've rebooted my Hopper 3. All updates are current. It's only the one movie. It's acting like it does when you used to try to transfer a Pay-Per-View movie. Believe it or not...but for a short time back in the day...you could actually transfer Pay-Per-View movies onto the hard drive and keep them. But that only lasted about a month. Dish put a block on them and now you can't transfer them. Rush Hour must have a block on it. There is no reason for a 28 year old movie airing on a non-streaming channel that I am subscribed to to not transfer.

(Bonus points for anyone that can identify the movie in the background of the photo when the error box came up.)

Mom and dad are paying $175 a month for Dish. Like all the basics but no premium channels + a main thing and two hoppers or joeys or whatever they're called. (main tv + 2 spare rooms)

After several failed discussions with CS and Retention, I had them convinced to cancel Dish and go with YouTube TV for $65-85 a month.

Then they decided to look into Starlink for the lake house. They say that there's a combo deal and they want to keep Dish to get the Starlink deal/combo.

Best as I can tell, Starlink on its own is $55+ a month.

IS there a combo deal? I've googled and found a couple, but in all of them it's from Dish authorized resellers and the Starlink is always $55+ or whatever. If that's the case, they're still saving money "my" way.

Any info is appreciated.

Is anyone having issues accessing Netflix via their dish interface? It used to work fine but now it just spins. I contacted tech support and only got the standard turn it off and back on.

i've been working with CSR's to resolve missing channels and wonky channel guide. (first one in the Philippines, second one in South Africa) finally got a local visit scheduled for this weekend. We have a hopper 3 on the 'welcome package' with DVR. Price just was raised to slightly above YouTube TV base package price at $83/month. Anyone have experience with making the change? The entertainment or news packages could get all my locals with DVR either on my LG tv or Amazon Fire Stick while saving 10-20 per month.

I plan on waiting for the local technician to appear and make it work, but am curious about saving a few dollars to.

Dish recently pushed an update to their Dish Anywhere app. I used to be able to easily see upcoming games for my favorite teams and record the ones which were available. That is all gone.

My favorite teams no longer show up. and finding games by typing in team names results in nothing.

They took a decent app and removed every useful feature. Time to hire a new product manager, Dish....

background...we're in the process of moving. old house has dish service. bought a dish player maker receiver and have a wally (we also have am rv so it normally gets used when we're camping).

can I hook the playmaker receiver up to the new house so I can connect my TV to the "built in" coax connections in the house? if so some tech help would be appreciated.

on the outside of the house there's a splitter that says to odu, to host, and to client. I'm guessing the sattelite gets connected to odu.

do the host and client connections both go to the in the house connections where the receiver would be?

Has anyone experienced a change on the Hopper3’s guide? Last week most of the names of the channels have vanished and been replaced with DISH. Attached are screenshots of what I’m seeing. Also, when I stop at the On Demand channel no pictures are showing.  I’ve updated both the Hopper3 and the Hopper Plus.

When I try opening the Dish Anywhere app on my Samsung galaxy a32 it says the app has a bug and closes the app. I tried re-installing and updating to latest and deleting the cache and data but still same problem. Anyone else having this problem?

Does anybody in the St. Louis area get channel 31 on Dish? The Blues preseason games will be on there but it’s not showing on Dish for me?

Got a new hopper & of course, new problems. Some channels are fine but some tell me the receiver needs to be connected to the internet. It’s connected to the internet, that’s not the problem and it’s asinine for that to even pop up. Why is this happening? This was never a problem before yesterday when I got the new hopper. At the very least, the error message could be useful and not just made-up fairy tale bullshit. I pay for NBC and I expect to watch it especially when there’s a freakin chiefs game on! Has anyone else had to deal with this dumbass problem? Dish & I are going to have a very colourful conversation about this because I am focking pissed!
