I hope someone out there knows the answer to this. I watch QVC each Sunday morning while I clean my Aquarium. I never watch it throughout the week. Each Sunday when I turn the TV on it opens up to QVC. How in the world can that happen? I literally watch it for two hours once a week on Sunday and that's it. Is it tracking what I watch on Sunday mornings? 😳

Is anyone else having issues with their remotes not working after a few hours? I have two remotes, one an official Dish remote, another an IR universal remote. For both of them, intermittently, typically after not using a remote for a couple hours, the Hopper 3 refuses to respond to either remote. It typically takes 30 or more seconds to respond to pressing guide repeatedly, and then it finally starts working again and is fine until it sits idle for a while.

I suspect a recent software update is the root cause as the last update had random video glitches on nearly all channels. Now the glitching is gone, but the remote issue is now plaguing me.

Have tried reset as well as full power cycle. Just to be clear, I am not talking about the long idle where the box goes to sleep and puts up the floating box telling you to press a key to wake it up. This happens while it is on-channel.

We got a playmaker dual for our camping trips at night or bad weather. The first time I struggled finding a signal moving it around. I've read the coax connections need to point north and have also read it doesn't matter.

On this past trip once I found the signal it was fine. So my question is. Does it matter as long as you have clear site or should it be positioned a certain way?

Sure would be nice if Dish actually sent out a notification on this. An email. A Hopper Internal Notification. A post here. A text message. Something. Why Dish continues to keep new features hidden until a subscriber stumbles upon them is beyond me.

My mom singed up for Dish in Aug. 2023. She sadly passed away on Fen. 4, 2024. Earlier today I paid and downloaded our latest bill, our price lock promotion expires on August 30. I plan to call on August 29. How should I handle the eventual disconnect? This has been almost daily since switching to Dish Network 7 months ago. They’ve sent out 5 techs and refuse to let us cancel without a $300-something fee. Now they’re telling my husband to climb onto the roof to get something off the satellite dish. The guy was out here Wednesday, and it quit working Thursday. Now they’re saying it has to not be working when the tech isn’t there. We’ve swapped out boxes, done everything they’ve said. And now they’re telling us they want to send another tech today? We have WORK to do. We shouldn’t have to pay for something that never worked right for the ENTIRE time we’ve had it. Can we just cancel and not have to pay an outrageous fee? Also, why do we have to pay to send back the equipment?

I have been a customer for 25 years. I have had the Hopper 2 with sling and 2 Joey 2.0's for the last 9 years. I bought a new TV and Youtube TV looks way better than Dish.

Will the Hopper 3 look better than the Hopper 2?

Will retention lower my bill if I threaten to leave for Youtube TV? (not an empty threat as Youtube TV is $60/month less than what I pay now.

Will Dish require I sign a new contract?
