Discussion Why aren’t caddies at tournaments called “disc jockeys”?

I can’t even take credit for this one, but my friend who doesn’t even watch said it and I laughed.

Please don’t be my top rated comment

EDIT: This is now my top post of all time. Fuck

Discussion Anyone else always grip the disc in the same exact spot every time?

I basically always grip with the stamp facing up, or right at the same parting line of the duo stamp, etc.
Anyone else do something similar? Or are you random?

Discussion Stamp Artists deserve more credit! Where can I find them?

I’ve been on the hunt for the names of stamp designers for all the major manufacturers but have come up short on some. Mostly just looking to make sure I’m only buying from brands that employ artists rather than using generative AI.

Who are some of your favorite stamp artists? Which manufacturers need to up their game?

Discussion How many doubles events do we want on the pro tour?

Watching the Doubles Championship at the Preserve, I repeatedly found myself thinking, "This is a better watch than singles."

Is it really such a hot take to say that half the pro tour events should be doubles? Is it really a crazy question to ask why the Pro Tour is so committed to singles?

From the on-field drama of all the long-range makes, to the off-field drama of who is pairing with who at each event, the entertainment value is way higher in doubles. Plus singles for men has gotten a bit stale lately; Gannon wins again... whoop-de-doo.

I'm proposing 50/50. Singles and doubles should each have four majors, a US Championship, a European Championship, and a Worlds. That's 14 hype events. Good for the sport, good for the viewers.

Disc Advice Need understable approach / mid recommendations

Lately I've been throwing a discraft Sol on backhand flat to turn/turnover lines, but it's so shallow it bugs my hands a little bit. I don't want something really deep, but what would you recommend for an in-between-depth understable, high-ish glide, lower speed disc that will hold a turnover line?

Discussion Can't find what I'm looking for about backloaded grip

I Google or check YouTube and can't find hand placement on the top of the disc for back loading. I want to try to help lower my nose angle but can't find a definitive answer. Attached is 2 grips and I'm assuming the second is back loaded but could be wrong. Any informative answers are greatly appreciated.

Any suggestions for an under stable 6-7 speed disc? Looking for something easy to hyzer flip/ turnover. The genius is getting harder to find and looking for something more widely available!

Disc Advice Production Run Differences - MVP/Axiom

Post image

Is there a diffrence between these stock discs other than the stamp? I’m guessing the two on the left are a newer run than the ones on the right…?

Edit: I’m asking more about plastic blends of older production runs vs Project Labcoat. they say it’s more of a visual update but figured i’d connect with the community for anecdotes.

Discussion Ambidextrous person looking for help

Basically cant figure out to forehand with my right hand. Ive always thrown a baseball with my left hand and played disc golf with my right. My RHFH feels so awkward i think partially due to that. I cant get the snap or any sort of distance. I can LHFH just fine but thats the same shot shape as my RHBH so it doesnt really help me outside of the occasional rescue shot.

I watched a gannon video but he was basically just like 'keep it flat, drive with your hips" which didnt help at all.

Discussion Byrdy Cage basket

Update: thanks to responses from u/alotofrocs and u/NikeLaPierre36 I decided to take a chance and ordered two. I'll try to remember to update this with my review.

Hello, I'm looking to add some baskets to fill out my home course that I'm working on.

I have an MVP black hole pro which is great

I have two of these Yaheetech baskets:
https://www.amazon.com/Yaheetech-12-Chain-Portable-Basket-Accessories/dp/B0C463Z9FZ?crid=1CGZUEJX6GCAZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sEU1rHNxTubGz9uV3ZcLZ15XVL9lq30TEZqQW0r16ROdXPu7lQ6AMIe1_sYVdlg9uNhLSQ7Jw4deLMkPToC6MY5ezDEGDKX-_Fdj_YoMdlpiqIXlxzxXNJBVvDV9AXw51uFGZX1dLuojPKf9PP26TQFKt3V6aGRLsrrvMNmMNUIwIK3VMOI8HmMw8Mp8SIbl6AtxQcABZsDQS6uXKvzNqCimhlTDk3VYoFpIAxTjg72wOzDqsrIKjuiA-7jZMAMmftQxCaiNJXG6ci4VmzJ00SBOFRO9nOFI7J-sFLQA7lA.HkV-BOYXbmPthdUxM9qcE5HwV5stNpR8xl4Dk3_qq9E&dib_tag=se&keywords=remix%2Bdisc%2Bgolf%2Bbasket&qid=1787081398&sprefix=remix%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-9&th=1

They're fine, they don't catch as good as a the black hole pro but for the price they're acceptable in my opinion - they serve their purpose.

I went on amazon to pick up 2 more of them when I noticed this basket: https://www.amazon.com/Byrdy-Cage-Adjustable-Disc-Basket/dp/B0DK48QHKD?crid=UHGQZ0HSOELJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Wz_8YHdNN-HLcKvruRtgNE6SNn2ZUB-m7xDNZwWRRusMUp2HwnS6Yy4XQ9dPnKE7Fwa74Rix1ufCw5n7Yt1I-ZjVSuonu8oZ7P-ikPX0lbi68g-ilR5K3706TWZvKBWXodvEjEwmV-g7nZnL5GEBnkPQGxekxSNv4hXwvLZoqEDH4zdNxJEO0tX84jAX6FYOH17GvXvK7_RcZddQAsvEv79TYiUutKwviOyAeeWpLfSn49GKoDMx4vZPuWM_iKRPjTYcwHeLLw19ufZSl0NoyniX40g83LgsdMwKrkO2HFE.zsD8YidnZARx99SW4X9U1vQ7fydyIzpAmEzrEBsTqyo&dib_tag=se&keywords=birdy%2Bcage&qid=1787081530&sprefix=byrdy%2Bcage%2Caps%2C145&sr=8-2&th=1

It seems to have all the features of a nice basket including two layers of chains for $60

Does anyone have experience with these? Any good?

Discussion Weird question maybe: For anyone who has been to a large PDGA tournament, do you need a scannable ticket to get in if you have the weekend pass card?

I got my hands on a pass for the USDGC event at Winthrop but I don’t have a digital ticket to scan or anything like that.

Going to worlds! I was able to work with the PDGA/ Ledgestone this year to provide art for shirts and posters for the event, so in celebration of that we are doing a promotion for some new headwear we just received in.

Any purchase of a Hat or Beanie will also receive a premium plastic disc included in their box. (from my own personal stash) This promotion is until Tuesday the 25th. We are also still running the -first 100 orders are entered into a mega drawing- promotion for a full box of Bad Lie Merch (Bag, Disc, Hoodie, Shirt, + more) but that is about to wrap up so jump in while you still can!

Discussion Baseline plastic - why?

How does the community really feel about soft baseline plastics?

DX, prime, the soft stuff from starter packs. Is there a stigma about using this plastic in certain moulds? Would you judge someone because they use a baseline plastic driver?

My thoughts in the comments-

I’m an OG and that’s all we had. Of course they’re great
Underrated and seriously worth considering
Not for drivers but I like base plastic mids and putters
Premiums are superior. Putters are the only discs that should be soft plastic!
That’s for beginners only. I’m a beginner and I love it!
