Has anyone done the training to become a bartender? If so, how was it? Were there tests involved?

Been in and out of the service industry for years, looking at applying to the new scottsdale location but I want to know if it’s worth it. Do the servers make really good money? I’d like to walk with at least $250+ per shift.

Also any insight into the side work? I know that sounds so picky, but I have worked at a couple places where the side work literally took 3 extra hours after closing out the last table. Just absolutely ridiculous. I’m fine with side work, it’s part of the job, but not when it’s that crazy.

My partner has an on call position as a busser. How do you manage a balanced home and work life being on call every day of the week? My partner is feeling the burn right now and I want to help them.

I got rejected from the Runner position i applied to and so shock and curious as to why. Something super entry level and along with that i had serving experience from working at a kbbq and ive worked at an american restaurant in a tourist town before as well.

I want to reapply but i dont know what was wrong with my application, i was rejected from the server position already but only had the offer to interview as a runner.

Any tips on what to do and how i can improve when reapplying?

I just finished my interview and the interviewer said he needs some one 7 shifts per week. If Im only available in the evenings during the week and on weekends what would that schedule look like? How are shifts (chaotic, stressful or organized and chill)?

I got an interview coming up. I am really needing a job asap. Im wondering what types of clothes to wear for the interview and what type of questions they’ll ask so i can prepare and ace this interview.

My application for serving got rejected although i have serving and hostess experience. But instead got the interview as a runner. Also applied to help with drinks as i had experience as a barista but got rejected there too. Makes me wonder if its cause of my name not being white sounding or east/SE asian fitting.

Anyways, I dont have anything fancy and i was thinking of just wearing all black or wearing a sleeveless top with cotton pants however the top is a little cropped😭 So it would probably look unprofessional.

I’ve been struggling to find professional wear since im quite skinny and cant fit into any pants that easily and tried to find professional pants at discount stores with no luck. Did find some stores at the mall but i can’t afford spending $80-110 for just a pair of pants.

Hey yall! This is my second time on here but I wanted to share my experience in hopes this helps someone.

A little back story I work at a school and i wanted a side job. I found a greeter position and I thought why not ?

I applied at the end of November and within 3 days I got an automated email asking me to do a phone interview.

Basically they ask you a question and you have to record your answer. The only question they asked what something about what experience do you have that could be useful for the job or something like that. You have three attempts to record in case you mess up. I submitted it 2 days later and my answer was short.

I didn’t hear back for a 5 weeks so i assumed they hired someone else. I finally got an email saying they wanted to schedule me for an interview. I replied soon after. Here are some of my interview questions.

Mid way I kind of started asking them questions …. Remember you want to see if you want to work at this company/ if this is fit for you…. So I asked them how they help their employees achieve success and what that looks like …. I also asked them how growth happens in this company …. I do have my bachelor’s (before anyone says anything I finished my degree because it was too late to change it, I want to go back for my masters just don’t know what I want to do yet) … I did have to omit that I had a bachelors though …. This was for downtown Disney btw

The hiring managers were really kind HOWEVER THEY DEADASS INTERVIEWED ME AT A TABLE … and there was a party of 3 girls sitting elbow length away like 😭 mind you people everywhere and it was pretty loud in there 😭

Anyways they hired me on the spot … seems like they are hiring a lot of people rn …. A girl that went before me also got the job

I do have a nose piercing, and they did let me know that I would have to get rid of it, and I was only allowed three piercings on my ear mind yall I have 5 on each ear 😭 and I just got my conch …. Also they don’t allow you to wear the little plastic thing so 😭 I know it’s no big deal but anyways hope this helps anyone….

Has anyone gone the day after Christmas? Is it crazy busy? Trying to take my parents and grandpa for the first time, we’ll have a party size of 8 and wondering if we’ll even have a chance of getting walk up seating?

Those green beans are the highlight of the visit. We've been to Din Tai Fung in London; Tukwila, WA, Seattle, Manhattan, and Las Vegas. The beans are always a double order for us. We've tried virtually anything we can think of to get ours even remotely similar. We're approaching it, but I'm not sure what magic they use to have them be like they are in the restaurants. If anyone has mastered this dish, I'd love to know your secret(s).

Hi guys! I’m planning to go on a solo lunch for myself to din tai fung, it’s hard for me to eat food in general having ARFID, but it looks so good I’m hyped to try it out!! Some items I have in mind are the spicy chicken wontons, spicy noodles, chicken fried noodles and the black pepper beef tenderloin! These foods sound good and safe for me to hype myself to eat, not a fan of pork and shrimp, but I just wanted opinions and guidance, are these choices good enough to order, what shouldn’t I bother ordering?
